I love the product.

I use these lights to illuminate the steps from the house deck to the patio. They look beautiful and very high quality.

Looks good, but poor design

Although these look nice, the design is not great. It requires extreme accuracy when cutting out the large hole for the lights to be recessed. The two screws that will hold the light in place are positioned only about 1/8 of an inch on either side of that large opening. If you're trying to cut through a 2 inch thick piece of wood on a step, that does not provide much room for error, especially if the deck is already built and you are cutting holding a saw sideways up against it.

These are high-quality lights. They look great and enhance the safety of the stairs at night. Installation is a breeze and all parts needed to connect to a power supply are included. I would point out that the mounting holes are very close to the inside edge of the cutout of 4" as recommended in the installation instructions. I made the cutout 3 7/8" and, while a tight fit, I was able to pre-drill the mounting holes into solid wood. The manufacturer should move the mounting holes out about 1/8" on each side.

Not a Recessed Install

The light seems really high quality, and likely to hold up to the harsh SoCal elements. However, even though this is listed as a "Recessed" installation type, this is actually a surface mounted application. Since we need to install this into the stair itself, and don't want it to impede the treads, we had to return.

Nice and bright and low profile. Exactly what we needed. Ot comes with a wire connected to the back which is quite long but a bit thin. There is also no easy way to replace it should the wire break as it goes directly into the back of the unit. All-in-all it works perfectly for our face mounted stone wall.

These lights are set in concrete patio steps where they provide the perfect lighting to illuminate the steps, and dress up the back yard. Plus, they're really substantial.

I really like the look of these stair lights.....my contractor...

I really like the look of these stair lights.....my contractor installed them on the top part of my wooden fence and with them shining down at low voltage, the look was dramatic! Just shows that these lights can be used for purposes other than lighting stairs! Great product!
