Needed new lighting for our garage. I installed 2 of these. The metal base is soft and bendable so be careful. The frosted glass rocks as it spreads light and hides marks on it. It has a thick piece of insulation that contacts the ceiling which is nice but makes installation frustrating. But I am very happy with them and with 3 100 watt LED bulbs they are super bright (the LED meets the heat limits).

One of the things I was worried about was lack of verification that it would fit where my old light was. I was replacing a similarly shaped fixture that used square socket CFLs, instead of replacing its ballast. Looks like these things are extremely standard after all, it wasn't a problem. Yeah, maybe it would've been nice if there were three wire connections instead of seven, but honestly I don't think I'd want to pay the difference. It was fine. Test fit the glass cover and post before you start the wiring, to figure out how deeply it should be threaded. It's fine. Attach the ground wire short enough that you can hang the fixture by it while attaching the other six wires, and long enough that it can still fit in place over the screws. I felt like there were a few ways it was made nicer than the fixture I was replacing.

This light is the perfect thing for our dark hallway, so I'm still happy with it. It looks great with three warm light LED bulbs. I didn't know the wiring was going to be as much of a pain as it was. I had to try three different kinds of wire connectors before I got a connection that was going to hold together. Putting this up is also two person job unless you have practice. Make sure you have help.

I bought this as a replacement ceiling light in my dining room. It looks very elegant. I like the fact that it has 3 light bulbs that are dimmable. My ceilings are very high. I had been considering a chandelier, but unfortunately a hanging fixture would not have been be centered over the table. It's a very old house and the rooms have been configured in an unconventional format.

the screws to mount the light to the ceiling/outlet box are too short. There are two screw holes that you push the light onto and then twist to lock. VERY BAD DESIGN!. It is nearly impossible to see the screws with the light in the way. I ended up getting longer screws and shining a flashlight through the holes in the light base and peeking over the side of the light to find the holes. Trouble is the insulation is in the way making it even harder to locate the screws. DON'T BUY THIS LIGHT UNLESS YOU PLAN ON DRIVING YOURSELF CRAZY INSTALLING IT!!! I have been doing this sort of work for 30 years and found this the worst install design I have ever seen.

I love the look of this product. I bought similar product from another place and they lights were tiny. This provides good light for those dark place. I am going to purchase again.

Inexpensive but looks elegant

I purchased two of these for my hallway. The lights are a bit traditional with a bit of modern because of the nickle finish. The frosted glass also makes them look amazing. This is another great purchase from Overstock.

A great fixture with bright warm light

I just love the look of this flush mount ceiling fixture in brushed nickel. The design blends well with our interior and I like the simple, clean, modern and elegant look with the brushed nickel finish and simple lines. The alabaster swirl glass diffuses the light and instantly adds a cozy ambiance to our hallway. It has a substantial size and gives plenty of light. The quality is great. This fixture was exactly what I was looking for. It matches the rest of our d cor perfectly and gives our hallway a warm look. Well packaged and easy to follow instructions for installing the fixture. Overall, a lovely fixture that will look great in any home!

Excellent budget lighting update option. We ordered 3 to replace all of our flush mounts and they were super easy to install. They are also brighter than what we had previously. The coordinate nicely with the grey/brushed nickel Hunter fans.

Great light for the price. I needed an inexpensive light that shone bright in my sewing space. With three bulbs it is nice and bright, much better than what was there previously. It is very light and cheap feeling, but seeing as I'm not going to be carrying it around, it serves its function as being a light that works and isn't an eye sore. It is quite a bit more low hanging than I thought. I'm short so it will not matter, but I thought it would be a good 2 inches smaller.

Was pretty tough to mount to the ceiling. There are several inches of thick insulation that you must get the screws through to screw into the mount, with no way to see what you are doing. I'm no professional, many curse words were used to install this. However, once I finally got it installed, it looks great. The three bulbs really help to brighten up our kitchen. I hope it lasts, because I never want to have to install it again.

Very nice ceiling lights, glass plain frosted whereas the matching 3 light units have alabaster frosting (sigh), like they were made in a different facility. The frosting nicely diffuses the light but allows too much of the wiring and bulbs inside to be visible for my taste. The three bulb units are much better at this and are more attractive. Kichler should address this. As these are enclosed fixtures, make sure your bulbs are rated for enclosed fixtures, can cause LED bulbs to fail more quickly.

Updates house for reasonable price

We bought an older house and had much of it remodeled. Easy things, (like changing out light fixtures) we did ourselves. These ceiling lights, used in our hallways, update the house. I like that they are closed (less dust to get in the glass housing), and the light they throw off is perfect. Relatively easy install (getting the screws through the insulation was a bit difficult hence the 4 star rating) and am happy with the final result.

Very nice quality light. I installed it in a laundry room and used 75W equivalent LEDs, and it illuminates nicely. A bit tricky to fasten to the mounting bracket while installing because of the insulation, though. Looks much more expensive than it is.

Beautiful Style

We purchased two of these and installed one in our entryway and the other in the upstairs hallway. It is light weight which helps in installation - which was very easy. The globe is marble glass and with the brushed nickel frame these lights look like they cost much more than they did. Quality finish and easy to install. We had a bit of difficulty with the screws that attach the frame to the junction box and ended up buying some that were half an inch longer which really made installation a breeze.

The only thing is the bowl isn't as wide as it appears in this picture and seems to hang a little lower, so it pretty much looks like a boob. That was the first I said when I saw it, and a few people have said it as well. Oh well. As long as you have a good sense of humor, it'll be ok.
