Great Light = Happy Wife

What a difference new light fixtures have made in our recent remodel! I searched for a long time to find the right lights meeting my Wife's strict criteria. Homerun! Thank you. Solid design in metal and glass - no plastic to discolor or fall apart! A little pricey but the quality "shines" through.

Hard to install, shade cracked while installing

The light looked nice, but looks can be deceiving! It was difficult to mount the light to the box. The person installing it had installed 7 other lights the same day and this was the only one he had trouble with. The frame was quite light-weight and you could actually twist it (without the shade in, of course). After struggling to get the frame installed, the worker was having a very difficult time getting the shade into the frame. (It's a twist-in type) After struggling with it for quite some time the shade cracked. This was likely because of the torque in the frame. There were only 2 reviews on Home Depot's site so I found several reviews on another seller's website. One buyer had a similar issue, but much more serious. His shade actually splintered into pieces as he struggled to get it in, with some falling on him and putting a serious gash in a hand necessitating a trip to the hospital and several stitches. I'm so glad that didn't happen to my installer! It seems that there is an inherent defect in the design of the light. It also cost more than the one I ended up purchasing and keeping, the other one having a much sturdier frame. Note many of the reviews talked about the difficulty in mounting it to the box. I would definitely pass on buying this one!

Great fixture. Shade is glass not plastic...seems a rarity these days. Installation instructions were not great, and I'm not still not entirely sure how you're supposed to mount the fixture base to the mounting plate they provide. Instead, I mounted the fixture base directly to the ceiling box. It's not like it has to be easy to remove.

Good looking fixture that fits into our mid-century tri level...

Good looking fixture that fits into our mid-century tri level home. Very large diameter looks modern but simple finishes and clean lines keep it understated. The mounting is a little tricky but nothing I couldn't resolve. Only complaint is that you can see the outline of the three bulbs more than I was hoping, but at least they're symmetrical; not bad enough to seek another fixture.

I think for the money this light is a great...

I think for the money this light is a great deal and was easy to i. It's classic, clean looking and understated. A simple light that is much more updated than the builder boob lights but doesn't jump out at you when you come in a room. It adds a modern edge in my traditional/modern farmhouse decor.

Absolutely Disappointing

The mounting off this fixture is poorly designed. There are 2 screws that are mounted onto the bracket and you would thread the screw head through keyhole slots of the light fixture, and I am not confident of a secure mount. It is impossible to align the screw head to the keyhole slots; the fiberglass impairs the alignment. I had to go to the hardware store to get a long screw, washers & nuts for mounting this light fixture into the center of the bracket. I purchased two of these light fixtures, one glass shade arrived broken, Build.com to ship another, and I’m still waiting for arrival. I like the design simplicity but the mounting is absolutely disappointing to say the least.

It's bigger than I expected.

This is a good quality light and I'm very glad to have it in my kitchen. We got the 15" model and it's a bit too big for our tiny galley kitchen. It's also very very bright with our current bulbs. I'm planning to decrease wattage to see if that helps.

Overpriced

This product would be fine at $75 or maybe even $100, but at $265 is quite overpriced. I returned it and bought a better light for much less.
