I installed the drain easily as a replacement. The nut to secure the assembly to the sink bottom could be wider for better plier grip. The sleeve on the down tube needs some tape prior to installing to prevent possible leak.

The type of plastic chosen by the manufacturer for the plunger is designed to fulfill their planned obsolescence criteria as it is brittle and breaks with the least amount of force.

Item worked great, easy replacement. As with any threaded connections, ensure you use teflon thread tape to prevent leaks. Box clearly says it is 22 gauge (slightly thinner) than the web description of 20 gauge. But it is a great product and I would not hesitate to buy again.

The unit leaked as received. It leaked at the interface between the lower piece and the upper metal piece-it appears to be epoxied but is leaking.

Okay, so the joint between the upper and lower portion of pipe does leak, but the solution is to unscrew the lower shiny part, luckily easy by hand, and put about 3 wrap of PTFE plumber tape around the thread and reconnect, that should fix it.

Good quality item, but the directions could be better. The drain stem disassembles below the pop up valve port so the assembly can be installed without cutting and replacing any pvc traps. I unscrewed the sink bezel and unscrewed the smooth chrome plated down tube, then placed the down tube into the pvc trap and snugged up the slip joint to keep it from falling into the pvc pipe. Next place the mid section under the sink and thread it into the down tube that you placed in the pvc pipe. Lastly install the sink bezel with plumbers putty to seal it. I had to reuse the old drain actuator rod, because the one that came with the kit was not long enough to work for the goose neck style faucet that I had already in the sink. All in all I was pleased with the product though, and the price was good too.
