Cheaply made

Looks cheap up close. For the price I’m surprised at how flimsy the chimney is. Installation is a nightmare. For a company that’s been around as long as GE you’d think LED replacements bulbs would be an option. Now considering Broan and taking a loss.

Light bulb replacement difficult

Lightbulb and lightbulb housing replacement not easy burnt out in the first year ended up taking the whole assembly out because couldn’t get to the bulb itself. Also, GE is making me go through all of this to register my product, but I don’t see how to order replacement parts.

The cafe series of appliances have a really high end look and feel to them. They are built well with different accent finishes on the handles and knobs. The fan that’s inside the hood is powerful and vents things out with ease. Install is very easy and straight forward. Would highly recommend.

The lightbulbs burner after 6 month use

The light bulls stop working it was really difficult to pull it out , I am struggling to find the replacement. We start using this in May, so no very reliable

Mounting hardware terrible. Looks great!

We wanted something slim and simple. Looks great. Not happy with mounting brakets. The brackets for the hood cover are about 3/8 inches to narrow. Had to shim out to get the hood to mount square and look right. The screws are also not white to match the hood…doesn’t make sense. Had to buy white screws to match….some very simple things that GE needs to fix.

Fan stopped working less than a month after instal

Was installed professionally and stopped working within a month, light works but fan stopped working. Started working on and off and now completely doesn't work.

Great Contemporary Addition

This is the perfect addition to our modern kitchen.

Makes Noise exactly after a year.

It is making noise exactly after a year, Flap noise. The Builder says they cant fix it. Not sure what needs to be done. Have always kept it clean and now facing this.

Nice unit but prone to issues.

We bought the unit a couple years ago but just got it installed this summer due to construction delays with the kitchen remodel. It’s now past the original one year purchase warranty, and we’ve already had to replace one light socket which was easy enough but expensive, and now a month later both lights fail to come on even though the light switch illuminates indicating they should be on. Sounds like the full light assembly now needs to be replaced.

Just lovely-a perfect match

This hood works wonderful and matches perfectly with my other Cafe Appliances in my kitchen remode. Several vent settings, quiet, strong light...just lovely

Works fine but fan motor is the main culprit.

This unit was installed in our newly built home. After almost 2 years, the motor died and is now out of warranty. Upon checking the parts page and looking at the reviews. The motor is the issue. It's a design flaw that GE fails to acknowledge. There's a lot of reviews even stating after getting the motor replace. The motor will still fail after 2 - 2.5 years of use. GE is no longer a quality product, will be looking to get this hood replaced by a more reputable brand.

Less than two years and the fan stops working

Less than two years old and the fan stopped working. Tried to schedule an appointment and they want 145.00 to just come and look at it. No thanks, will be looking elsewhere for a new hood.

BestBuy is absolute worst in customer service. If I knew what is coming, I would go somewhere else, not worth the aggravation and miniscule discount.

Decent vent hood

Decent vent hood. Our light bulbs last months before needing to be replaced. Bulb replacement is not too hard, but can be a little tricky. One of the small glass covers over one of the light bulbs has a crack across it.

Looks and works great!

I'm overall very pleased with this purchase. Value, Look, and Function have all meet my expectations.

Works great but not crazy about the look

My carpenter had some trouble putting the bolts in the sides. I also think it is not a great match aestheticly with the rest of the Cafe appliances. It is very sterile and stark looking.
