Terrible Quality, Waste of Money

We were unbelievably disappointed in the quality of the Calphalon stainless steel pot/pans set. Our original T-fal teflon pots and pans held up better, which says a lot. We were excited to make the switch to a cleaner cookware and invest in quality so they would last for years to come. They were discolored after one use, and one pan came out discolored out of the box, looking used.

Missing set, employees knew, very bad experience.

So they sell me something that had pieces missing. there were 7 out of the 11 pieces and honestly all the pots were missing. I did curbside pickup and the first indication was that the box was all worn out and looked like a return item. The second was when the lady wouldn't let me load it onto my car - probably because I would have felt it and knew it was an incomplete set. The third was that she had marked it picked up before she even brought it to me. I had to call the store and asked where it was. She probably took a piece or so or knew that I wouldn't be the wiser until I got home. I promptly returned it, with my two kids in tow, because I didn't want them to think I was the one that did it. SO annoying. Just get it from Costco. I would not buy a cookware set from Macy's anymore. Super sketchy.

Quality Changed

The quality of these pans is subpar. I own one other Calphalon Premier Stainless Steel pot, and it's significantly different (thicker, doesn't burn, doesn't scratch, high quality). This complete set is of lower quality, as I've noticed the pieces are lighter in weight and thinner. They also burned a little and scratched easily. I would avoid buying a complete set; better to buy individual items and see if you like them.

Highly disappointing

This pans are highly disappointing. Even using proper temperature and butter or oil EVERYTHING sticks to these pans. You can not make eggs in them because they are unable to flip because they stick. Everything we have made in these pans stick. Trying to cleans the pans after is also a chore. After soaking things still don’t come off. I would not recommend these pans to anyone.

Great cookware set!

I love these pans, I purchased them because I just purchased an induction cooktop and my current cephalons' were not induction safe. I was a little nervous with other reviews saying that the pans changed color or food stuck to them and burned the pans. I have not had this issue. I did read the paperwork that came with the pans to make sure how to properly care for them and for any tips which was helpful. These pans look great, they wash up nicely either by hand or dishwasher. I would definitely recommend these pans. My only wish is that they had like another 3 quart pan to go with the set, this my most frequent size to use.

I have loved the nonstick Calphalon for years. I wasn't sure about going with stainless I was worried about clean up. I'm so glad I decided to go with it. It is beautiful heavy duty stainless that cooks evenly. I am using it on a gas cooktop and always used electric in the past. I seared steaks last weekend that turned out great and to my surprise the pan cleaned right up. I will add that if the stainless stains a little just use a little Bona am and then wash with soap and water and it will shine beautifully.

Great durable stainless steel set

This is my first stainless steel set, and i love it. There is a learning curve, but watch a few youtube videos on how to cook with stainless steel and you should be good. I made scrambled eggs using the water test and nothing stuck! As for all the reviews complaining about the stains, buy some bar keepers friend powder and the stains will come right out. I am deducting one star because the lids sometimes make an unnerving clicking sound. Other than that I am very happy with this set.

Not what I hoped they would be

I wish I read the reviews before buying. I just got these for Christmas and it's only January and one of them is stained. Granted, it doesn't cause the pan to cook any differently, but what are these pans going to look like in a year? I put a little olive oil in the pan and fried some hash. Now there's a brown stain in the center of the pan. I'm sad. I've been using the same pans for almost 30 years and finally decided to invest in a "nice" set. I'm so disappointed. :-( The other problem is the pots have weird "prints" in them from pasta and rice. I really scrubbed them and the "prints" are still there. There isn't a color to it, it's more of an outline of each piece of rice or pasta that came in contact with the bottom of the pan. I don't ask for expensive jewelry or anything, I just want things that will make my work easier. I obviously made the wrong choice here.

Would absolutely buy again!

These are absolutely beautiful. I've had them for two weeks and have used every pot and pan in the set. The handles don't get hot, the set heats up quickly, and retains heat evenly. Like another reviewer said, I wish the pots were deeper not wider but it's minor and something I'm going to have to get used to. I haven't had any issues with warping or discoloring - I let the pans cool down completely and wash by hand then dry immediately. I've boiled, fried, sautéed, and cooked just about everything in this set (in prep for Thanksgiving); they are truly a joy to cook with and are non-stick when used properly. So happy I bought these pans!

lovely and durable set

i was looking for a stainless steel set to upgrade from nonstick cookware and i found this set that i really liked because it already has the 10in & 12in skillets unlike other sets which only has the 8 or 10in ones. very happy with the set and it's sturdy and beautiful. the only thing i disliked is that it quickly discolored and rainbows appeared inside the pans. i know this is normal and nothing that BKF cleanser can't wash off but still i was a bit disappointed given that it's an expensive set. also, i wished the 3qt saute pan was deeper and not wider. its cover also fits the 12in skillet which i find redundant and unnecessary cos they could've just added some other saucepan or pot instead.
