Loved at first but sadly not reliable

Fift impressions were good, a nice hue and easy to set up. Great for a year but then the charging pins started to fail. Casper sent me a new charging base but that’s failing agin after a very careful 2 years of use. It’s a shame but now that they have burnt through their stock of chargers. Casper seem to be not restocking (understandably).

Best purchase ever

I debated, I researched, I procrastinated, months later I finally pulled the trigger. Best decision I’ve ever made. I wanted a lamp that was not only aesthetically pleasing, but functional and could simulate a sunrise without ridiculous simulated bird noises. I wake up every day now to a slowly illuminated bedroom before my phone alarm jars me awake. It’s way more peaceful and EASIER to get up. I haven’t hit snooze in weeks since these arrived. Plus, they’re COOL!! You can flip them upside down to turn on, use your phone app, twist them for brightness, and one of the best features is the slow over time dim. I can light up my room, get ready for work, and leave. No stumbling in the dark to get out because I know this lamp will turn itself off over time. If you’re debating buying these lamps, just do it. You won’t regret it.

DO NOT BUY - This is guaranteed e-waste

All of the high reviews are sadly just people who haven’t experienced the inevitable failure of this product. I’ve been trying for years to keep mine going, but the chargers are just pure junk.

Not worth it

I got the Glow Light as a Christmas gift in 2023. It’s a great example of form over function: you can’t change the warmth of the light, placing it on the charging plate takes more than one try (especially in the dark), it’s not clear which way you have to turn it to swivel the light on. The best part about this light is being able to turn it off from your phone, which is more ideal than sliding it around the charging plate after flipping it over and hoping it doesn’t turn back on. The worst part is that it’s August 30 2024 and the light will no longer charge. I’ve “rebooted” it 4 times (you honestly can’t tell if the rebooting is even working), and it appears totally dead. Nothing wrong with the pins, which apparently is a common problem for others.

Poorly manufactured, worse support

I initially loved this lamp. It has such a gentle light in just the right color and temperature that helps you wake up and fall asleep naturally. However, about 8 months in I started having problems where one of my lamps seemed to not be charging. I reached out to support, but the issue seemed to resolve itself. I reached out again a few months later because the issue was back. Support had me send them pictures and informed me that the pins in the charging base were the problem but that because I was outside of the 12 month warranty period (by 2 months) all they could offer was a link for me to buy a new base at. After some further research I realized this is a common issue. The base would just fail because the pins were messed up and Casper was no help. I refuse to buy a new base when the design is the same and it's going to inevitably fail again. Now I just have a light that doesn't light up- a paperweight effectively.

Indispensable

I've been using my Casper light daily for the past two years, and after an initial rocky start it has become an indispensable part of my routine.

Underwhelming expensive lights

It has been two years since purchasing these lights and I don’t like them at all. The pins on the charger bases are so flimsy that they will eventually stop working. Casper knows their chargers are an issue that’s why they sell them individually now except they are extremely back ordered last time I checked and $35. Aside from already paying for a bundle of really expensive lights, they want us to pay a lot more for a charger. I can purchase a whole other lamp for $35. Every time I pick up a light, it takes me on average about five tries to properly set it on the charger, which is frustrating. The only thing I like about these lights is that you can turn them on from your phone. This next issue is niche but unless you can put these behind a dresser, they are not nursery friendly as the horizontal adapter does not fit into standard baby proofing outlet covers that go over plugged items. I have yet to find a cover that fits over the adapter to keep my toddler from unplugging one of the lights.

Excellent

The Glow Light is an excellent purchase. I do not like waking to an alarm and after researching Sunrise alarm clocks, I settle on the Glow Light. #1- its sleek and innovative design #2 - it did not have a glaring clock on it. 3# - it is fun.

Zero stars

The product was initially great. Lovely concept and the light is a gentle lovely glow. Unfortunately we have had charging problems since a few months in on one of our two lights, and when we went to (purchase) and replace the product the wait to get it shipped to us was several months- at this point not until June because “it’s popular and there is a wait to ship .” This product is too expensive for something that is clearly flawed and does not last, and Casper doesn’t standby its products or make things right. I wouldn’t make this a part of your routine because it is simply not going to last for you as evidenced by the almost 100 1 star reviews that Casper doesn’t respond to or make things right for. Honestly, this leaves a bad enough taste in my mouth after seeing how many others have experienced this that I would hesitate to buy another mattress from them even though we love ours. . You have to stand behind your products.

Charging Plates Don't Last

I bought the 2 pack over a year ago and everything was fine for the first few months. Then, the charging plates started failing. The little pins are not durable and they become non-functional on their own. When I reached out to support they said because it had been over a year there's nothing they could do. However, I was welcome to purchase a new charging plate. Why would I spend my money on a new charging plate when the design is the same. Waste my money on the same failure of engineering? No thanks! Don't waste the money because it's too much to spend for something that is designed to break.

Beautiful when it works.

I had two of these lights. First one never worked, but I researched and read it had to do with the connection on the charger base. A friend coincidentally gifted me one a few days after getting the second, and I was happy that it worked, and it looked beautifully. So I returned the first one. And enjoyed the working one, for a week. Then it stopped charging. I reset it and went through the motions and it was frustrating.

Don't waste your money

I received a pair of these as a gift about a year ago. It's a great light and enjoy how innovative it is, unfortunately, the quality is the worst part. Both bases have are now broken and can no longer charge either light, so they are completely useless. I reached out to customer service team but because I don't have the original purchasers email they said there's not much they can do for me and suggested I "place a book on top of it" telling me, this is a known design flaw. I offered to purchase a new base and they said they don't sell them separately. >:-/

Don't waste your $$$

I received a set as a gift about a year ago, now both bases are broken and no longer charge the light. I contacted Casper and there customer service team said their fix was to "put a book on it", showing that this is a known issue. Then added, there was nothing else to do for me since I don't have the email of the original purchaser. I offered to purchase a new base but they said they didn't sell them separately. So these (and how many more?) will be added to the masses of e-waste because of a poor design.

Fantastic light , Casper is opaque regarding fixes to original

I bought a pair these when they first launched, loved them. Unfortunate they stopped recharging . Casper sent me new charge bases, but it didn’t solve the problem. I’ve been looking for something similar to buy,. In researching, these still look best., I asked Casper if they improved the product and was told that they are unaware of any fixes, updates or improvements. So why would I buy again? Yay, these lights are potentially awesome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BOO to Casper thecompany 👎🏽

Brilliant and Fantastic, with a major flaw.

This is one of my favorite household items from a design perspective. The lighting is great, and it's ability to pair with others if fantastic. The ability to move it around unplugged and the tactile experience are lovely touches. I hope Casper continues evolving on this product, because in the 5 years I've owned them I've gone through multiple charging dockets. Some break in a few months, some in a year or two, but without fail these things will fail. It's unfortunate and I hope they fix the mechanism, since I've had to spend a significant chunk of money keeping these things charged.

Terrible functionality and customer service

I don't recommend!

No working app. Last app update was in 2019

I bought the double glow light. One worked out of the box the other one didnt even after a night and day of charging. There is no current app for Android users and the iOS app would not download. It kept giving an error when trying to download. The app has not been updated in 4 years. The support team are lovely at casper but without the tech team puahing out an update they wont work. I really wanted to love these alarm lights but without the app they are pointless. Casper it would be great to get the app sorted and updated so these can be used.

Life changing light

Whew, glad I read the reviews after I bought it. I was also able to buy just a single one. Was I beside myself when I realised that I couldn't use it for the primary reason I bought it for?yes. (I don't have an iPhone so I can't use it as an alarm). Anyway, getting ready for bed with this glow light and using it to go the bathroom at 4am meant that it takes me less time to fall asleep and I'm no longer awake for 2 hours at 4am. Yup. It made that much of a difference.

If Only It Were As Good As It Seems

It's cool that it dims and that it can be carried around. But it's SO ANNOYING. Seriously don't waste your money on this light. You never know if it's on its stand correctly and if it's off by a hair you won't know it and it wont connect but *it will still work* until its battery runs out and turns off randomly and then you're left with a light that needs to recharge. It's super annoying to have to flip the light to get it on and off. It's not comfortable or easy to do when you're comparing to things like a switch or a button or a touch lamp. It's kinda nice that it can be carried around. But I never pick it up to use it in the middle of the night like that because it will turn on super bright at first and is connected to our other light, so it would turn both on. The good qualities of this light don't outweight the bad. They really need to redesign this light. REDESIGN THE LIGHT, CASPER. This current design is not right. Go back to the drawing board. Then maybe it'll be worth the price.

No android app at present time

I was excited to find a sunrise lamp without a clock face. The design is really elegant and simple, able to blend in to nearly any decor scheme.
