I have used it only once so far. It appears to be well made and the red color goes well in my kitchen. But the 'whistle' sounds more like a train horn. That will take some getting used to.

Chantal has the worst tea pots

Chantal has the worst tea pots and the worst customer service. The bottom of our teapot started chipping and leaving chips of enamel in our water. When I reached out, Chantal customer service told us that we had a kitchen incident that shattered the bottom of the teapot, that we had let the water boil off and then put cold water into it. I don't know how they can tell us what happened in our own kitchen. This never happened. The kettle is always 1-2 serving sizes full of water and we take the kettle off the burner when it's not in use. The bottom of the teapot is not entirely shattered as they told us it was (I sent pictures and videos in), but there is a 1in by .5 inches that has worn away.

FABULOUS TEA KETTLE!

BEAUTIFUL! i USE FOR MY POUR OVER COFFEE TWICE A DAY. WHILE IT DEFINITELY NEEDS A HOT PAD FOR THE HANDLE - IT IS TOTALY WORTH IT. STYLE IS RIGHT ON TREND FOR MY MODERN KITCHEN.

Exactly what I have been wanting

I have been looking for the perfect tea kettle and this is it. I did exchange this all stainless one for the cobalt blue/stainless and I LOVE it! The stainless one is gorgeous and modern but I felt the blue one would be better with my decor and I was right. You cannot go wrong with either. The styling is beautiful and I love the whistle. It also comes with a handle cover for safety. It has everything. You wont be sorry!

Good performance but quick to discolor

I bought this beautiful stainless kettle after having owned and loved two previous Classic Chantal kettles. The kettle is entirely metal, with no plastic or wood details, which to me is a plus. And I appreciated how the spout and whistle functioned so well. But I was very disappointed when the stainless finish discolored and became mottled within a week of using it. I tried to clean the stains using non-abrasive cleansers but nothing worked. I sent photos to Crate & Barrel and they made it easy for me to return it. Excellent customer service on C&B's part.

Way Better than the Copper Version

I love this kettle, its design, its look, everything about it. This is my second one -- not that the first one wore out . . . I simply got tired of it -- it was the copper version. Do not buy this copper Chantal kettle -- it very quickly turns a ghastly color & when you remove the tarnish it becomes more & more a ghastly color -- it literally made my teeth hurt to look at it. AND the 'copper' is a mere finish, the kettle is not actually copper -- so with every cleaning some of the 'copper' would come off in patches. Thus I replaced it with this stainless steel version. So far not stains have appeared, no tarnishing. And the dual-sounding whistle works -- it had begun to be only a single-sound whistle on my old, copper version. This kettle looks great sitting out on a stove top.

A very nice kettle with a slightly flawed whistle.

I like the shape and finish of the Chantal Stainless Harmonica Teakettle. The body is well made, a good weight and size that shines up nicely with a stainless cleaner and looks classy on my stovetop.

Beautiful with a lovely sound, could be improved.

I bought this tea kettle about a month ago, and have used it regularly since I received it. It is very aesthetically pleasing, has plenty of capacity, and works well with my induction stove. I really like the two-tone harmonica sound it makes when water comes to a boil.

Perfect and practical

I bought this about two months ago and it is just what I was looking for. I went through several enameled tea kettles (they always rusted eventually even if I emptied them every time I used them). So I decided I wasn’t messing around anymore with pretty colors. I wanted stainless steel and something that would last. I love this one. It is attractive and the whistle sounds like a pretty train. I know other reviewers have complained that the handle gets hot, but so what? It’s not like using potholders on pots or tea kettles is something new or problematic. It pours beautifully too.

This is a beautiful kettle. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and I had to have it. I chose the stainless steel over the enamel version because I feel like the enamel might chip off whereas stainless won't rust. Boy was I wrong! I only had the kettle for a month and a half now and I can see rust starting to build up near the spout on the outside and inside! I haven't contacted customer support yet but I really hope they will do something about it. I haven't had any rust issues with other stainless stuffs I own. My stainless steel pans don't have rust. This is the first time I experienced rust on a stainless steel. I really wanted to love this kettle because the whistle is unlike others and the build quality I would say is really great. It's got a good weight on it, it's almost plastic-free (there is a small plastic thing on the back of spout handle), and it pours water very well which I heard the Le Creuset kettle fails at.

Just poorly designed.

Love the harmonic whistle, but there are so many other issues with this kettle that make me want to return it. That said, I've had it for more than a month and it's pretty worn: SlT probably wouldn't take it back.
