Very beautiful grab bar

Bought this on line and it was so easy. Pickup at the store couldnt have been faster and it looks great in our new shower. I love how the end covers snap on for a beautiful finished look.

Good product, good price.

We have this in our other bathroom and itt works great so we decided to go with this style again. Easy to grab, comfortable in your hand, nice looking. We've had it for 3 years and it looks like new.

Granddaughter slipped in the guest tub/shower, hit her foot on the pop-up drain and required sutures. It is a fiberglass Kohler tub with a textured bottom that is not effective against slipping. Purchased a clear tub/shower mat and installed this Moan Grab Bar to prevent future, old guest from slipping. The tile walls around the Kohler tub are commercial grade porcelain that was impossible to drill through with a conventional masonry drill bit, thought after an hour of work one did make a dimple. Suppose they work well on ceramic tile. Picked up a diamond drill bit at Home Depot that did the job, though each of the 5 holes drilled took several minutes. The tile is not only very hard but about 1/2" thick. Properly installed by securing to a framing stud behind the tile, this grab bar will hold a very large adult when stepping in and out of the tub.

Great product! Love the brushed nickel finish!

This is a great product. A little pricey but it matches our other brushed nickel faucet and another grab bar close to my shower seat. We remodeled our bathroom from a tub to a walk in shower. It was worth it!!!

This bar is a great addition to our bathroom. I have arthritis in my back & ankles and have issues with my feet falling asleep if I’m sitting somewhere, be it a chair or the toilet, and my feet don’t reach the ground. My husband installed this in about an hour. It’s very thick & sturdy, the color is a nice dark brass that matches our toilet paper holder. It has grooves in the metal, perhaps for finger grips, but I just hold onto to the bar. I was surprised how nice it looked when it was installed. We should have gotten one sooner. I’m only 4’11”, which is why it is hung so low, in case you’re wondering why it’s so close to the toilet paper roll :) I’m the second picture you can see the grooves I mentioned. I definitely recommend this bar.

Like any job that requires drilling through tile, Durock to finally reach the studs this is time consuming, and hard on the hands and arms. The screw placemet options are well thought out. Once secured to the studs, the handhold is there to stay and no amount of tugging causes even the slightest give in the bracket. The cover plates give this a nice finished look.

The finger grips, the curved ends and the plates covering the attaching screws all give this handle a custom look and feel. I have installed 8 of them in my home.

I would NOT buy these again.

My husband has difficulty getting around so I have 4 of these grab bars in our huge shower. Had them for less then a year and the two that get a lot of water on them while showering have permanent water spots on them. They work well and look good when new but I definitely would not get them again. The company sent me replacements for these 2 but I am guessing they are going to do the same thing.

mismatched chrome

I purchased this style to go with my Delta Cassidy shower fixtures. The chrome looks more nickel next to the Cassidy even though all Delta. Nice styling and functions appropriately. I did not install them myself. Had I seen the mismatched chrome, they would have been replaced with something else. The 16" bar is not a common size in other styles, so if they were changed to say an 18" the holes in the marble would likely show.

Why can't vendors use good quality bolts with their products. One snapped in half while I was screwing it in. I had pre-drilled with the correct bit size from their documentation. Because of this I had to re-drill a hole which through off the center of where the post attaching to the grab bar would be. I ended up going into my workshop and found a Made in America that went in the new hole with no problems. I see this issue all too often with hardware made in other countries. Most of their products are good but they use lousy hardware.

Worked well in our powder room for occasional elder visitor. Carpenter brother installed it at a 45 degree angle — not ADA compliant but my powder room is not regulated. Thankfully. Found the idea on a handyman YouTube video. The special anchor system for this unit is definitely the way to go because one cannot be so lucky to end up on a set of studs. Super sturdy for mom and uncle.

[Rewarded Review] Sturdy and attractive

This grab bar is a very handy item to have in the bathroom. Even though we may not need it all the time when we do it is there. I did most of the installation myself but I had trouble getting the screws that came prepackaged with the bar into the studs and had to call my husband for help. That’s why I gave it only 4 stars.

Pros: Easy to install -- if you've done some construction -- even as an amateur. Tips: What you really need: 3/8" variable speed drill. Drill the 1/8" pilot holes. My 1/8" drill bits are 1 7/8" long. This leaves you about 1/2" short for the depth needed for the screw. The screw will not seat with a shallow pilot hole. My solution (aside from buying a longer bit): Insert a #1 Philips attachment into a magnetic drive guide. Then lock that into the drill. The guide will help you clear the safety bar handle which obstructs some of the mounting holes. (Most electric screwdrivers do not have the torque you will need to drive the 2" wood screw into a stud.) Take a 3" long, 1'8" wood screw, at least as sturdy as the given screws, and drive that in so about 1/2" is left showing. Remove that screw. Now you have a deep enough pilot hole for the 2" mounting screws provided. Do all holes this way after you have established your final pattern (See below). Now drive in the provided screws with the provided washer on each screw. When you do this: Start all 6 screws so they are 1/2" in. (If you drive one screw in all the way, and move on, I guarantee the previously drilled pilot holes will no longer be aligned -- doing it this way helps brace the bracket and its holes against the other screws). Now drive them home using bursts of power with the drill (not one steady zip). Always drive the last 1/2" with a single steady burst. Set up: The grab bar can be mounted horizontally or vertically (a longer than 16" bar can be mounted at an angle). The bar is 16" because that is the normal spacing on the studs (vertical 2x4s in your wall). Use a stud finder to locate the studs marking each side of the stud with a pencil mark. Depending on the stud finder, this gives you about a 2 1/4" width, but the 2X4 stud is actually just 1 5/8" width into which you will seat three screws. For a horizontal mount, the bar must mount into two studs. This could mean not having the bar exactly where you want it because the studs might not be where you need them. Two screws go on the upper side of the bar and one below. Careful selection of screws holes is important. Horizontal: Choose one side and mark where screws will go. Then, holding the bar firmly in place, select the screw locations on the other end of the bar (another stud for horizontal, same stud for vertical). You can use a nail and hammer to mark the start hole -- you don't want the drill skittering across the wall. Recommendation: Moen gives you six screws and washers. It is easy to round out the Phillips head in the screw. Moen should provide two extra screws, but they don't. If you're like me, I hate to get started and then have to run out to get more screws. Get some extras before you begin (2" wood screws with round Phillips head). Also, if you round out one of these before it seats and you can't extract it with the Phillips driver, Try small vise grips to back it out. The best thing is to avoid rounding out the heads in the first place -- so see above. Good product.

I am a pro general contractor I purchased 4 of the Moen grab bars to install at a customer's home. These grab bars have a beautiful glacier white finish on the stainless steel and they are very sturdy and holds up to 500 lb. If you purchase the 16-inch grab bars you can easily install them into the studs instead of using anchors in the drywall the flanges have several holes all the way around the flange which makes it easy to install the screws through the drywall into the studs. Moen is my go-to grab bars great quality made with stainless steel so they will not rust. These grab bars also comes with a flange cover that covers the screw heads and gives it a finish look. I give moens grab bars 5 Stars and I recommend them 100%
