I wanted to buy Thompsons water seal but you don't carry it. I had started the project with Thompsons and ran out. The Olympic did not soak into the wood nearly as well. It was much more watery. The Thompson seems much thicker and oil base feel. I will never buy this product again

It seems to work well, but it hasn't yet rained on the wood I treated, so we'll see what happens in the long run. It resembles Thompsons, yet can be applied with a hand pump sprayer, unlike T-sons, which is one reason I like it. It certainly soaks into untreated wood, but is water-based, so I have some concerns. As I said, we'll see in time.

Sealed my walkway after washing it with this sealer. Used roller to apply and brush in corners. Rained couple days later and all the water was beading on top of my walkway which tells me the chemical worked and it sealed my walkway. Very easy process.

I hate the container-no neck!

Always had great luck with Olympic Water guard Multi-Surface cleaner on my deck. Decided this year to spring the extra $20 to get their wood sealer vs. Multi-surface. That 5 gal. Wood Sealer has no neck on the bucket! Just a hole with a lid. Any idea how hard and messy this was to try and pour from that 5 gal bucket into a spray jug with no neck?? You'd need an absolute huge funnel for this. No complaints on the sealer, other than the long strip I am now sporting down the middle of my garage. Do better Olympic. Add the neck to that bucket.

Goes on milky and dries clear. Somewhat hard to tell if adequate amount brushed on or putting on too much. Used a brush on paving stones that were approximately 10 yrs old. It didn’t appear to soak in as I expected. Did not change look or colors of stones. Paving stones are part of sidewalk to front door. Can’t say if much different. Just applied to cement porch today. Seemed to absorb more than the stones? So given the price guess can’t complain and probably better than nothing.

Did not like it at all, it looks like water with some kind of white color, even though it says clear, to me clear is clear, with no color in it. Then when I applied it, the wood doesn’t absorbs it, it runs all over and you can’t see the results of your job. I like the Thompson brand better because it’s clear and you can see immediately that’s been absorbed and’s looks shiny.

I am sure it is a good product, but I was concerned with the milky Color instead of it being clear as described on the can. After applying the red oak color I wanted more protection and when I applied the sealer it had a white look to it. I returned two different sealers and purchased another Olympic product instead.

1% milk is thicker

I bought this because I couldn't get Thompsons. It is so thin it ran down the planter boxes faster than I could brush it on. It was hard to tell the area I had done because of no color change, I didnt want a stain but Thompsons has a soft glow and you know if you did the are or not. It ran off so fast Im not sure it really soaked in but I guess time will tell. I bought a second gallon to do the deck of my trailer but it is going back and I will find Thompsons some place.

Field Tested and Approved

I pressured washed the bricks on the back patio and the next day applied Waterguard Clear Multi Surf Waterproofing Sealant to each of the bricks with a paint brush. The slight darkening on each brick after this enhance the beauty of the brick floor for our home. After Tropical Storm Nicole poured rain on our area, the brick floor on the back patio was dry the very next day. Waterguard Clear Multi Surf Waterproofing Sealant is not only easy to apply, but it prevents mildew, which we had, and the coating stands up to the hardest of rain falling on its surface.

How am I supposed to know how effective and efficient the product is?I applied to the cement blocks around house and foundation wall and hoping it does it’s job, that’s all I can say. It hasn’t been raining so I don’t know the effectiveness. But, if I see it’s working and if it stays like that until next year, then my money is well spent. Manufacturer must manufacture the product that customer likes and it should work, and if product is working then customers will come back and keep buying again and again and for that it does not need any survey. Product will speak by it self. Just keep delivering the excellent quality with great price and your business will be booming in any economy.

For years I have used Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner and Thompson's Waterseal on my deck, and have been happy with the results. This year, I used Olympic Waterguard, and was so disappointed that I wrote a letter of complaint to the company. A representative wrote me a really discourteous letter telling me I must not know what I'm doing when it comes to waterproofing my deck.

Used to seal patio after pressure washing. Went on easy. Could have had better instructions and online resources. Videos focused on wood decks, not concrete, and tough to make sure my prep was adequate.

I built a decorative wooden picket fence to surround my wife's garden. After a few coats of paint, I coated them with Olympic Clear sealant - basically because it was less expensive than the other waterproofing sealants.

I’ve used this sealant on some wooden deck furniture and on ceramic figurines in my garden. I sealed the wood top on a Hampton Bay bistro table (top and bottom) to shed water and hamper the growth of algae and mildew. I sealed the porous surfaces of the figurines for the same reason.

I replaced a couple of broken bricks on my chimney and then repointed a few sections. Once that was done and dry I thought I should seal the brick. The instructions suggested using a brush which is a much better alternative than using a roller which was my first thought. I poured the sealant in a plastic pail and used a 5" brush. The instructions said start at the bottom and work up, not sure why, but that's what I did althought I kept going back over the lower sections to clean up the drips. The sealant was easy to apply and went on fast. Once it dried there was no noticeable change in brick color.
