This product really is hard as nails. I’ve been very happy with how it is wearing, especially on the wood stairs.

Easy to apply, looked great at first. Unfortunately despite 4 coats applied per the instructions, scratches appeared everywhere my dogs walked. In areas where my dogs don't go, it still looks new.

Easy to apply, dries super fast

Project: 435 sq ft. Ordered 4 gals expecting to use it all, but applied the 4 coats, waiting 2 hrs between coats, using only 1 3/4 gals. I read reviews, but I used a Purdy White Dove Woven Acrylic Fiber Roller Cover. Poured Varathane directly on the floor and rolled it out. This saved time and limited the possibility for introducing bubbles into the finish. The Varathane was super easy to apply and dried so quickly it was a snap to get 4 coats done in one day. I highly recommend this product.

Varathane semi-glass oil-based floor finish worked well to refinish flooring where my office chair had worn-away the factory finish. I needed the amber hue oil based polyurethane provides to help match existing flooring. The somewhat thicker (I didn't thin, used straight from can) than I expected product flowed and covered well using a china bristle brush and left no bubbles. Odor was acceptable since I was able to open a window and use a small exhaust fan.

Good stuff, I used a fine hair square applicator for corners and sides, then a T-bar applicator for the main area. The first coat of the 1,400 square house used 3 gallons, then each coat after used a gallon.

I have been using Varathane products for years on many woodworking projects--usually good results. I used this product over a previously finished oak floor. I rented a large floor sander to a
