Who Knew a Tea Kettle Could be Awesome?!

I don't normally love inanimate things, but my admiration of the Clyde Stovetop Tea Kettle may be bordering on love! I have been using my Clyde for over a month and I could not be more pleased! It was easy to wash and rinse the Clyde before my first use. Since then, the Clyde has been used everyday, sometimes multiple times in a day, since its purchase. The water heats up faster than my old kettle and the heated water tastes great (no aftertaste from the Clyde, unlike the metallic taste from my old kettle). I love the whistle; to me it sounds a little like a train, but the pleasing parts of train sounds. The design is sleek and contemporary; it looks great on my stovetop. Being able to pour hot water without having to lift or trigger a cap is pure joy. While the Clyde is indeed awesome, so it Fellow's customer service. My first Clyde was defective so I contacted customer service; I was promptly and courteously sent a replacement without any hassles.

Don't Bother!

I purchased this kettle because I wanted something modern with a whistle function. The kettle arrived and did not whistle. I exchanged this product and was sent the same kettle which did whistle. But you can barely hear it. The point of the whistle is to hear when the water is boiling - you have to be standing next to it to hear the whistle. I am still in the middle of trying to return the second kettle and the "dedicated support team" is only reachable via email. So far they have not been able to figure out how to process the second return for a full refund amount....and it takes days for the team to respond to requests.

An underwhelming experience

Meh. I really wanted to love this. My favorite part is the color. ;) While the handle is comfortable, I can see how it could get worn looking pretty quickly. The whole design is clunky and heavy and loud when the water boils. I realized after having an electric glass kettle that I like being able to see the water level and know when it’s boiling. Plus for this price point I think you should have some control over water temperature. Returning and going back to glass.

Little Black Stove Top Truck Kettle

I was away when this came and my boys unpacked it and had been using it. The first time I heard the whistle it sounded like a truck was coming. Cute and well made and I was looking for something without a seam around the bottom as they seem to rust really quickly. So far, so good. Excellent shipping and lovely product! Thank you!!

loving my new kettle

Really loving this kettle. It's beautiful; and it doesn't show the inevitable dust and splashes; satisfying to use; I love the "on" button; heats water very quickly; easy to fill; very well made and I anticipate it will last a long time.

Failed to meet my low expectations

I read all the reviews and the disclaimer and still decided to try the kettle because it’s pretty and we don’t have the space for an electric kettle in our kitchen. I bought the kettle for when we needed more boiling water than our Linea Micra can dispense. I have two main gripes - If you fill it to the max 1.7 line it will spill boiling water all over your hob/counter and it will not whistle. With 1L or less it works consistently. The second issue is the time it takes on induction. In a race against an identical diameter Le Creuset pan with 1L of water, it took 3:20 for the pan and 6:36 for the kettle. In summary, it looks great and I enjoy using it, but I really wish it would perform the same as my existing pan!

Best kettle for a stylish finish

Absolutely love my kettle, and I get constant compliments on it too. Needed a stove top kettle that looked a bit more funky than most and Alternative Brewing had the best range. After purchase customer service has also been amazing with all my troubleshooting questions answered promptly and politely. Service with a smile!

Good Looking- Great Quality

This is a nice looking kettle that quickly heats water to a boil. I have a Corvo and a Stagg but wanted something bigger so I could serve a few cups of tea at the same time. It’s easy to fill and really does look good on the counter. It doesn’t maintain water temperature like the other kettles, but it heats up quickly so that is not an issue. I like that it shuts itself off. Fellow kettles are built to last, but if you have a problem, the Fellow folks respond right away.

Stops whistling

I love the way this kettle looks and feels. It's just what I wanted. But after about three weeks it's stopped whistling. This is a known fault and the solution is to adjust the rubber ring in the lid. I now have to do this every time I use the kettle or it doesn't boil. It's driving me crazy. For the price of this kettle I would expect a permanent fix to something like this. Really disappointed.

Great Kettle! Love the whistle!

We decided to retire our Baccarat 2.1 litre kettle as it was looking discoloured, permanent spots, and cooking stains were also present. The whistle was also very loud, very harsh on the ears!

Not your average tea kettle

Not your average electric kettle! As an 10 year electric kettle user, when my glass kettle finally broke, I took the plunge for this beauty. Not only does this kettle heat water efficiently, but the nozzle doesn't drip when pouring water, the water lid sits firmly in place preventing water dripage on the outside and to boot, it's gorgeous to look at. The size of the kettle balanced against the handle make this water kettle easy on the wrist and hands of all sizes. Best purchase ever and really speaks to the buy better buy less philosophy. Thanks Fellow!

Terrible - unable to clean the kettle!!!

WARNING - do not buy this Kettle!! To pay over $100 for a tea kettle that doesn't even last 1 year is ridiculous! Know that if you buy this, the kettle will begin to have spots all over that you are unable to clean off, the paint will begin to chip, you will not be able to store this on your store as any cooking will let oil / food get on your kettle that you will be unable to clean off. I reached out to Fellows to request help with this and they told me it was my tough luck (not in those words, but they would not offer any assistance with this). Anyway, it went into the garbage today and lesson was learned. Don't make my mistake!

Great design, love the black colour but horrible quality

I love the design of this kettle, it is beautiful and elegant. It is black and fits great with any decoration. There is only one issue and it is a major one, it is very low quality.

Pretty, but . . .

It's a good-looking kettle, but . . . the paint scratches off very easily, the harmonic whistle is unreliable, the lid's rubber ring falls off regularly, and its pour volume is not easy to control. On that last point, the pour vol., there's a ball that you're supposed to be able to shake loose so water comes out faster but it doesn't work. I have to bang the kettle hard on the counter to loosen it. The whistle is nice, but it doesn't always work so you have to stand over the kettle anyway to know when the water is boiling. The paint coming off is where I drew the line and called customer service. They said they were sorry that happened but there was nothing they could do. It is coming off on the bottom in little chips. Generally disappointed, except that it is cool-looking on my stovetop. Just wish the quality was better, especially for the price. One other positive feature I should note is that the handle stays fairly cool, so you don't have to grab a towel to pour the boiling water. That's a positive. I wouldn't have paid so much for just that though! I want the whistle, the lid, the paint, and the pour-ball-thingy to be there for me too and they are not.

Nice visual and sound. Feel not so much

The kettle is visually pleasing and the "whistle" is neat and, importantly, doesn't annoy the dog. I like the larger capacity.

I love how modern yet Asian it looks. The handle is very comfortable and the kettle overall is very easy to use, hold and pour from. I boil water on the smallest element but have to move it to the bigger element to hear its harmonic whistle-which I’m not sure is really that harmonic. I love the Clyde kettle regardless because of how wonderful it handles, how quickly it boils water and its simple yet elegant design. Did I mention that I love it? :) Thanks Jed for an amazing product!

The kettle works for me. I love the silicone handle and not having to flip the spout which usually requires two hands. The double whistle gives a pleasing sound . I am a bit nervous about the flames on my gas stove exceeding the circumference of the base as my husband burned off the spout cover and the whistle of my old kettle. All in all I am very happy with the design and the ease of pouring out water. When I heard the marble rolling around when I first opened it I thought it was broken. The kettle came very promptly in transport.
