Had one for years and now I purchased 2 more because it has been the most reliable, efficient, and best made model lantern to have during a power outage or any emergency. It is a virtual workhorse.

Amazing, just amazing…

Ok, so as other have mentioned this does not have a the rechargeable batteries, it requires D batteries I believe, and that’s where my story begins. I have the same batteries in it since 2007, yes 2007. I live in northern Alberta when it’s -40c quite regularly, and I’m telling ya, I cannot kill this light. It’s really amazing, I’m not really sure what batteries they are or what they look like, but it’s as bright as I remember it to be. Best LED lantern out there hands down. Buy it

Was a good little lantern to get from hangout site to the bathroom or back up to the cabin. Also enough light to enjoy playing cards and to see to DJ a bit of music.

Coleman 390L Lantern

This one takes batteries and is awesome. I bought it for power outages because my 17 year old one finally gave out. This is much bigger and brighter and takes 8 D batteries instead of 4.

Coleman LED lantern

It is reliable, efficient (long lasting battery power with D cells that are short lived with incandescent bulbs), and safer than either liquid or propane fuel. The dimmer is brilliant, allowing batteries much longer life. We use it as emergency light during power outages or for occasional camping.

Great for power outages

I have had two of these lanterns for over 5 years that I use as lamps next to my bed. I use them every night and replace batteries every 3 or 4 months. When I have had power outages, these lanterns worked great... you can purchase brighter lanterns, but for the price, these are great...

Best LED lantern out there!

I ordered 4 of these, 2 for me, and 2 for friends. In California, PG & E (large gas and electric utility) has been intentionally shutting the power off in various areas around the state to prevent wildfires. Their equipment was blamed for several catastrophic fires in northern California. Just in case our area gets the power turned off, we wanted to be prepared with LED lanterns. We especially liked that these take 8 batteries, and have infinitely adjustable brightness, with a dial. If we wind up having a long power outage (people have had their power turned off for a week or more!), these will come through for us with super-long run times, and precise control over the battery power being used.

I want to say something nice but...

It's just not worthy of the Coleman name. Very large lantern for such a small amount of light. To me, the trade off just isn't worth it. The screws holding it together are very small and will likely strip out at some point. Wiring is small and flimsy.

It is perfect when the electric goes off. I'm giving this as a Christmas gift. I love mine.

Our entire family LOVES this lantern. It really lights up your area and is lightweight but not so light that the lantern would tip over. We have owned this brand for years.

Just a Great Lantern

I've been reading reviews concerning this lantern and I believe the negative reviews on this lantern are confused. This lantern works on 8 D Alkaline batteries not a rechargable battery pack as some of the others have. My lantern is the best battery LED lantern I ever seen or used. Disappointing

Bought this several years ago to be part of equipment for our RV. Used it several times. Did not use it for about a year. Wanted to use it and battery was dead. Used the charger cord that came with the lantern and charged for 8 hrs. It still does not work. Will not purchase any more Coleman products. They do not last long for what you need to pay for them.

The lantern is just right for the reason I bought it. Living in Florida with the hurricane season here and the electricity probably going out this lantern with indeed be useful.

The lantern is perfect just what it looked like in the photo. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent light source

Always reliable, long lasting, durable and easy to use light source. I have used this product on every camping trip I’ve ever been on and it never fails. Works through pouring rain, cold weather and when walking the surf looking for flounders at night!
