I am SO glad you asked…

Tomorrow marks two months since I bought a Forno refrigerator online from Home Outlet Direct and I’m still without a refrigerator. It took longer to ship/deliver than indicated on the webpage and when it arrived, it was damaged. I can only assume it was packaged and shipped from the factory damaged because the box, the packing material and the outside cabinet of the unit were perfect. The damage is to the undercarriage. It is severely bent where the compressor and its refrigerant lines are located and this makes the unit list heavily to one side. I filed a damage report within the first hour of delivery and submitted all the photos of the damage and paperwork Forno requested in a timely manner. I’m one month into this mess before it is agreed a new unit was in order. Then my adjuster informed me that although she was forwarding the necessary paperwork right away, she had no control on how long it would take for me to receive the replacement. She stated the divisions of Forno operate independently and on their own time schedules. Well, another month has gone by and still no word as to when the replacement will be shipped. Do you have ANY idea how frustrating, inconvenient and expensive it is to live without a refrigerator especially during a Texas summer? Equally frustrating is having to store the damaged unit in my very tiny dining room. Staring at and walking around that box with FORNO written on its sides is a constant, in-my-face reminder of the uncaring attitude and ineptness of Forno. I’m a senior citizen living on social security so money is tight. I’d ask for a refund but, if my memory serves me correctly, the return policy penalizes you a 30 percent restocking fee and that loss would no doubt push me over the edge. I truly believe the way a company operates is an accurate reflection of its top management so this problem falls squarely on their shoulders. For that reason, I have a message for the head of Forno; I double-dog dare you to walk a mile in my shoes by going home tonight, unplug your refrigerator, suffer the expense of throwing out all it’s contents and then wait for two months or more for a remedy. If you’re willing to do that, then perhaps any words of apology from you wouldn’t sound so hollow. Only empathy, NOT sympathy, is appropriate here. I can’t imagine how a family of five would manage this nightmare. I find Forno’s actions (or inactions) unconscionable. I strongly suggest Forno add “cation” to the company name because I have been royally screwed! BUYER BEWARE….this, too, could happen to you. As for the star rating request, even one star would be too charitable and a lie, but I have so select a star to publish…….

Delivery company is very disorganized - rescheduled 5 times. The refrigerator is fine, finish is nice, runs quiet. I removed one of the shelves so I can put tall bottles/ milk in it, but quarts of milk will also fit in the door.
