Nice Hood - Poor Settup

Mine came super well packaged. I just wish they would have enclosed all of the parts that it said it came with. Fortunately, I invented a much better set up than theirs. Venting directly into a cabinet, was surely, some engineer's knee jerk idea and the others went along with it for lack of enough collective sense to come up with something better. If you buy this hood, unpack it and remove the endless sea of blue protective film. Yes, you willl have to dissasemble it to get it all. After you do that, toss the hardware packet that comes with it because it is pure garbage. Even if you are like me and collect spare parts, toss this packet because if you ever use it, you will ask yourself what you were thinking when you kept it. Even the plastic drywall anchors are garbage. Get someone to help hold up the hood. Grab and hand full of Torx screws and some decent anchors with a rim on them to prevent them from being pushed through the drywall and you can hang this thing pretty quick.

Do not purchase if DUCTLESS is the expectation

This product is incorrectly advertised and labeled. This is NOT a ductless system. Despite the entire listing on Lowes clarifying this is a charcoal filtered ductless hood, it in fact... requires a duct! See the hilarious 'Ductless Installation' guide directly from Cosmo - "VENT DUCT THROUGH CABINET". So if you want this hood to either blow residual greasy air directly into the cabinet or ceiling above, go ahead and purchase. Otherwise, buy a hood that has the front facing vent like these are supposed to have. Cosmo needs to sell this strictly as a vented option, Lowes needs to adjust the listing asap and also eliminate the 48Hr return window in these cases. Buyer beware, Lowes and Cosmo refuse to refund despite "completely agreeing with me".

Vents into your cabinets; no returns after 48 hrs

Ductless option vents into your cabinets. I purchased this relying on the description “vents into kitchen.” Lowe’s won’t accept it for return or exchange even though it’s never been installed or used (I returned from holiday travel and the unit was delivered while I was away). Charcoal filters not withstanding, the hot and moist air venting into a small enclosed space would eventually lead to an oily cabinet. Lowe’s said the manufacturer is responsible for the information Lowe’s put on its website. Cosmo says they don’t process returns and said they recommend customers not store anything in the cabinet. Ugh.

Great look and function

Range hood is beautiful. So much more attractive than a piece that has hideous grease filters underneath. Works like a charm. The only suggestion I have is that a template for under cabinet cutout should have been included. My husband made his own out of cardboard, it was time consuming to get it just right. Dan is not very loud. Lighting just perfect

Misleading

This product is not ductless. It is only considered "ductless" because it comes with a charcoal filter. It is required to be ducted through your cabinet, meaning you need to cut a huge hole in the bottom of it, and which will lead to the destruction of your cabinet in the long term from blowing warm/moist in to it. It looks and feels like an quality product, but the advertising and name are purposefully misleading.

Ugly junk

My sister-in-law is renovating my old house so we can sell it. When I heard that they were buying a range hood costing almost $300, I was highly skeptical, and somewhat alarmed. Now that I've seen this monstrosity, I am disgusted. I'm glad I don't have to live with such an ugly and expensive contraption. If I were to buy another house and it had one of these in it, I'd rip it out immediately. Trendy? Maybe. Ugly? Absolutely. I don't know what the designers were thinking, or if they were thinking. To describe it in one word: Impractical
