Not As Expected

Bought DAP Clear Ultra Caulk for kitchen project. Upon applying it onto the kitchen faucet, it is White not Clear as indicated on the item. Had to use fingers to spread out the caulk since it does not stick onto the surface of kitchen sink. Difficult to remove/clean the caulk residue of the fingers. Used alcohol/acetone to remove it but it does not help. Not recommended. Rather use other products instead. May have to return it.

Clear Dap Never Clear

Used Clear Dap to hold a clear gasket on the bottom of the shower door. Came out white & remained white.

tube split open!

I have no reason at the point to doubt the quality of the product inside the tube. But, the back end of the tube split open while I was squeezing the stuff out--and not with excessive force! Gigantic mess. It was a small job, so I could, I think, finish it. But boy what a mess and so inconvenient and unwelcome. Sad commentary: it's simply not worth my time to go through the hassle of trying to get a refund. Just pay attention--the plastic crimped end of the tube is not very strong!!!

does not dry clear

Application was similar to other products I have used before. Some pressure is needed to get the product out, especially when the tube starts to empty out. The consistency is just right for caulk. My major disappointment is that it does not dry completely clear. And I don't think it's how it is applied. All old caulk were removed. The area was not exposed to any water for 48 hours. Some parts indeed became clear within a day. But some parts were still white 2.5 weeks later.

Honestly think it’s over priced for a little tube. Every now and again I buy theses when replacing a sink or need fix small area and honestly don’t always have caulking gun with me. Besides the over priced small tube it does its job. Comes out white it does clear up but not the normal clear you would think almost a Translucent clear.

I used this dries clear silicone caulk to secure slippery throw rugs. Several lines of this extruded on the back of a clean throw rug, then a putty knife used to evenly spread it out and left to dry for about 36 hours produces great results. The complete backing of the rug does not have to be covered to achieve a grip, but it is important smooth out the extruded lines. No more danger of a rug sliding out from under your foot! Wash as usual but do not dry in the dryer.

Don't be confused - it is clear

So far, the sealant seems to be working. We'll see what happens in 10 years I guess. One thing DAP should do immediately. This clear caulk is white when applied. All other DAP clear caulk I've used is clear when applied. It says this in tiny lettering on the tube, but I had to search extensively to find it after I was going to take back the 2nd tube I bought thinking it was white but mislabeled. Maybe make that much more prominently displayed. I'm sure I'm not the first one to run into this.

doesn’t deserve 1 star

This is the absolute worst caulk I have ever used. The gloss white is too thick to squeeze out no matter the size of the tip. The seam at the opposite side of the tip burst open making a huge mess. The product itself is thick with a chalky like consistency like it’s old or starting to dry out. If you read all the warranted bad reviews and STILL purchase, tape off both edges, cut the bottle wide open, wear gloves and scoop and smooth with your finger. I’m so disgusted in this product and wasted time prepping the shower, taping off and now having to remove the tape so I can use the shower and start all over again.

I’m not sure what was going on with the tube I bought. After clipping off the tip of the dispenser, I couldn't get the caulk to flow out!

Works great when you have a few tips

Took me a couple frustrating tries with silicon and siliconized caulk before I got the scoop: This stuff does not smooth out if you use plain water - you need water with one or two drops of dish soap in it. Mix the soap and water before using it :) Also cut a smaller hole in the tip than you may think is needed because that's easier to control. Create your own caulking "gun" by folding the bottom over to squeeze so you can do a nice full line. Have q-tips and a wet cloth ready to clean up edges as needed while it's still wet and white. For countertop edges: tape on backsplash and counter but pull the tape off as soon as you finish the caulk. I love this stuff because the white makes it easier to work with. It turns clear pretty fast but that varies. Took just a few hours around the toilet and a day or so on the counter I caulked last weekend.

I bought this cauk to seal an under-granite-counter-mount stainless steel sink. First off, Kwik Seal "CLEAR" delivered it first surprise; it came out of the tube white! Reading the fine print tells you that it will take 7 to 14 days to cure and become clear. However, it's now more than 6 weeks later and the seal is clear in some spotes, but 'misty-white' in others - just not as clear as other "clear silicone caulk" that I have used in the past (like those from GE). Despite the fact that I throughly cleaned the sink/counter-top area, the 'cured caulk' does not seem to be adhering well. will watch things carefully, but I suspect I will be re-caulking the sink within the next few months rather than the 2-year cycle I'm used to.
