What piece of crap

I purchased this piece of crap at Home Depot. Last fall.. I've only used it a few times to wash my show tent.. it constantly stops working after 5 or 10 minutes and after waiting 30 to 45 mins it will SOMETIMES start working. We got an upgraded wand after the one that came with it leaked like a six. I'm so aggravated I could toss this piece of crap off a cliff. When I have a busy schedule waiting around for this thing to decide to work is a pain in the butt. Do not buy this piece of shi!!!!

Lost pressure not worth the $$$

I ama big DeWalt fan but not off this item. Second time ever trying to use this machine and it has lost pressure. Not even 2 full hours of use on it total! Have tried troubleshooting. Have read numerous tutorials and tried going back through the owners manual. Nothing works. It simply doesn’t have any pressure. It’s running, water hose attached properly, no kinks, not clogged…. Just no pressure! Not worth the money. I will be buying another brand. Sorry DeWalt!

Very solid piece of residential equipment!

I have had several power washers. The construction of this one is generally more substantial (e.g., large rubber wheels, better frame, heavier duty power cord, better fittings). I was also very pleased to discover that it is quiet -- quietest I've ever owned. Slightly higher PSI would be nice (my others have in the 2800-3000 power range), but I'm happy with the performance so far (I've only put about 15 hours on it). I should qualify my comparison with other machines by citing the fact that the price points on the others were less than $300. The list on this one was $550. Tool Up ran a very attractive sale ($325) so it was an easy call. I like it a lot so far.

DW2400

Just bought above unit from Home Depot. Worked fine for about an hour. Then I decided to change nozzles from the yellow to the green. I changed the nozzle without turning power or water off. I pulled the trigger 3-4 times quickly and the motor/pump stopped. Checked power supply and all was ok. I then shut off power and water and disconnected high pressure hose. Then I turned on water inlet and a good stream came out of where the hose connects to the unit. I reconnected HP hose and turned on unit and all was fine until tried to change to green nozzle again. What could possibly be wrong or am I using bad process? From my limited experience with gas PW I am guessing some sort of pressure lock. I contacted customer support and they said take it to a service center. Come on try a little harder to answer my question. If i take it anywhere it will be back to the store for refund. I think the unit is ok and my operation may be at fault but very disappointed in customer service response

Good so far but not as powerful as I would have hoped

The large, pneumatic tire tool stand makes it super easy to move and is stable. This is a big improvement and makes it easy to move around. The cord, and the high pressure hose, are both plenty long. The tool feels solid, doesnt leak, and is pretty quiet. It is super easy to set up and take off the hose for storage.

Dewalt electric...easier to start than gas

Easier to start than gas. Very happy with this purchase. Easy to assemble and easy to operate. Starts with a turn of the knob and squeeze of the trigger. Much easier and quieter than my old gas pressure washer. Gave it a 4 star due to the lighter cleaning power. The old gas engine was a 2200 psi and it cleaned fast and deeper than the 2400 psi electric pressure washer. I am happy to not have to strain my back and shoulders to get this one going though and would recommend it to anyone who knows the struggle of starting an older gas pressure washer. I also like not having to worry about gas, oil and spark plug. For me there are many upsides to making the switch to the electric, even though it is not as strong as the gas model. This pressure washer is also lighter and easier to move around

Surprising performance

I can't say enough about this little guy. I had a heavy old gas-powered washer I bought in '05 for occasional moderate use. On top of the pain of having to keep fuel around and change the oil, it suddenly started backfiring and surging about 5 years ago, then wouldn't start at all. The estimate for repairs far exceeded the remaining value of the thing to me so I gave it away and did without a PW. Earlier this year I rented an electric unit (not DeWalt, however) at HD just to see how it would do on my driveway and was surprised at how well it worked for my purposes. I immediately bought one of these and have done more washing around the place since. It seems to have almost as much useable power as that old gas unit, and even comes with a turbo head which was something I remember paying about 50 bucks additional for when I bought the old one.

First: You are going to want to upgrade the hose. Like most pressure washers, the one it comes with works but it kinks up and is short. Uberflex makes some nice aftermarket hoses. Quick connects are cheap and save you time, so I recommend those as well. For cleaning the ground, get a surface cleaning attachment. It will save your time and your back. Unfortunately, a surface cleaner attachment might not be good enough in the dirtiest jobs, where you’ll still need to bust out the turbo nozzle.

I power wash only once or twice a year. I had a gas unit prior to this one but with what ethanol does to carburetors I always had to drain the gas after each use, kind of a hassle. This electric unit, although maybe not as powerful, still does the job well (although I'm not sure any soap is actually getting into the stream) and is very convenient for me given I have numerous outdoor power and water outlets around my house. And it's very nice that it very quietly toggles on each time you pull the handle lever so you (and your neighbors) don't have to listen to the incessant gas engine noise. Very easy to set up right out of the box. Probably overpriced for what it is, (like a lot of their consumer products it's not a genuine Dewalt item, I think the same model is marketed by Craftsman too no doubt coming out the same factory in Vietnam) but isn't everything these days!

was hoping for awesome, but disappointed

Purchased this washer because I like the DeWalt line of tools. And this washer looked really nice. I have many of the drills, saws and battery powered hand tools and they are awesome. However, after unboxing and setting up this washer, it continued to trip my breakers upon startup and then began to heat the power cord going to the motor. After numerous attempts to "give the unit a chance" I finally boxed up the washer to return it for a competitor brand. HD did not have the competitor's model in stock, so I figured, get another DeWalt. Surely it won't be defective.

It's A Work Horse

So I see a lot of Yay and some Nay on here and so this is an account of what has been my experience with this machine thus far. First of all electric power washers are less powerful than gas ones are so comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges. However as far as electric goes, this thing is a beast. The job may go a little bit on the slower side but don't be fooled into thinking it can't do the job because it can and it does. Patience is the key to most things in life so don't forget to exercise it here too. Straight out of the box it took me all of 10 minutes or less to assemble. It's about 95% assembled for you. And the next thing I did was to try it out after just having washed my truck the day before with great dissatisfaction from my previous name brand electric power washer which is what prompted me to go and buy Dewalt and then sit the other out on the curb with a "free" sign on it. The Dewalt did in fact actually clean my truck to my satisfaction and believe you me I am extremely particular and very hard to please when it comes to my truck (it's a Texas thing). After that I got the idea to start on my sidewalks and driveway that had years of built up usage and as I said it does go a little bit slower than a gas powered washer BUT it is considerably less expensive and there is no winterizing the electric one and there is also less parts to ever break down as well as there is much less maintenance and care of an electric power washer. I weighed out all of this when deciding to go with electric or gas and the fact that it is going to be used at home and not for routine big jobs, electric seemed like the best way to go for me but you;ll gave to decide for yourself. Well I digressed here now didn't I . . . okay so after the driveways, patios and sidewalk it was a no-brainer that I had to do the house also and so I did and it did and it did it with no problems encountered. So my first 2 weeks of owning it really put it to the test and it passed with flying colors. It comes with several nozzles to match the task at hand so you'll want to switch them in and out (which is a breeze with the way they are made) and experiment to see what you feel does the best job for you. Everything screws on so much easier than my previous two pressure washers so I am thrilled with that. Remember lefty-Lucy and righty-tighty? Don't forget it's the opposite and you'll see the connection and disconnect ease. The 35 foot electric cord and 25 foot pressure hose are added bonuses to the oversized wheels that don't allow it to fall over. There is a whole lot of bang for your buck in this pressure washer and the best of all is that it is made by and backed by Dewalt so how could you possibly go wrong. As for anything negative that I have to say about it . . . . more power would be nice yes but I know if that's the only thing I wanted then I would have purchased a gas one. Just remember this - its an electric power washer. And its a really good one in my book which is why I have replaced every one of my tools and tool related machines over the past year so that they carry the name of Dewalt. It's a name the company has shown and proven to me that I can actually trust and I do.
