Okay for the price, short lifespan

We have a small apartment with hardwood floors and some rugs, no pets. When we first got it, it worked amazingly. But after the first two uses we noticed it wasn't really picking anything up anymore other than dust. Rollers don't work anymore despite thorough cleaning. Definitely time for us to get a new vacuum!

Not ideal if you have carpet and furry pets

Vacuum cleaner is constantly getting clogged up. I am spending way too much time touching the nasty brushes and clearing them of Gunk. We do not have a dirty home. There's no reason for there to be so much Muck-A-Muck stuck inside the machinery. The rollers stop rolling constantly. You have to cut it off. Wait a minute for them to go again. I am deeply disappointed in this as a tool for keeping fur under control. However, if you have no pets and low carpet, this might work for you... might.

Pretty much what I expected - a hand vac on a stick. Light weight and does the job for my low pile rug and hardwood floors. Picks up the pet hair and other debris pretty well - requires a couple passes for longer hairs on the rug. A little concerned about the hard plastic construction - brittle and could crack if banged or dropped. Also just found the same at a brick and mortar store for less, but not worth the hassle of a return.

Save your money. Don't buy this.

This is just a terrible product. I would have returned it if I could. Here's what was lacking: Suction area is only 8" wide (advertised as 10"): Even with limited suction area, could not pull in anything more than dust on a single pass; Cord seemed too heavy-duty for the size of the vacuum; short cord limits the area you can clean before having to move to another receptacle; Cord exits the body directly underneath the cord wrap bracket; Combined with the heavy cord and bracket placement, it's almost impossible to wrap the cord up to store; NOISY! Using this on hardwood is ridiculous, and it's not from the vacuum-- it's the material used for the wheels. They create an unreal racket; Button to remove the body and use as a dust buster is so stiff, I can't budge it. In summary, this is a poorly designed product that doesn't function as advertised and was a total waste of money. The sad thing is, I really wanted to like it (it sounded like it was just what I needed!) and am super disappointed. It's my first Dirt Devil product. Will likely be the last.

Don’t buy this.

Works alright for a little while. Had this less than a year and the handle broke off. Warranty would replace it, but I’d have to cut the cord and prove the unit is unusable before they will send one. At that point it would be almost two weeks before I receive the replacement. I have a parrot and cannot go even one week without vacuuming my floors. Not at all convenient when the company has to be aware of the fault in their product. Other reviews mention this issue. If I were you, I’d just not buy this. I had a similar unit from a different manufacturer that cost only $15 and lasted almost two years before I chose to get a new one because it was slowly losing suction. I wish I’d have just kept that one.

Worst ever

I bought this several months ago after I lost my old Dirt Devil in a flood. I replaced it with the new Vibe because my old Dirt Devil was wonderful. I just recently starting using the new Vibe a few months ago. After about 4 uses, the brush stopped working. I cleaned it but it still does not work. The Vibe doesn't pick up anything off the tile floors. Piece of junk. Don't be fooled by the Dirt Devil label. My cheap off brand works much better.

Came Broken and not too effective

My dirt devil, which I bought from Target in Madison, Wisconsin, in Hilldale, came broken, as shown in the picture. The handle was not able to fully attach to the neck of the vacuum, which makes it significantly more difficult to vacuum. The vacuum is very nice though, and the 3-in-1 functionality, even though I can only think of the two things it can do (hand vacuum and regular vacuum), are nice to have. The hand vacuum is similar in ability and is only moderately effective at picking up dirt, though nice to have. Though the fact that it has to be plugged into while in use isn’t that nice, and if you use a hand vacuum often, I would recommend getting a rechargeable one. Can someone at Target or dirt devil please help me get a replacement part for the piece that was initially broken?

Dont waste your money!

This vacuum is not good at all please don’t waste your money. I looked through the reviews and seen bad ones but figured every product has a bad review so I chanced it. Big mistake!this thing picks up 3 crumbs then gets nothing after. The suction is so bad it’s a joke. Obviously it’s a tiny vacuum so you shouldn’t expect much but this is the worst.

Wasted money

As a stick vac, suction is terrible. It seems the rolling floor attachment puts the suction too high off the floor. If I remove that and use no attachment or the edge attachment, suction is fine. However, I have no interest in vacuuming a room like that. I bought this to vacuum loose cat litter scattered on my laminate floors. It can’t. I used to have a basic Bissel stick vac that did a great job but had a tiny dustbin. Going to buy another of those. Cheaper and works. Lesson learned.

Not to bad of a Vacuum

Works great, to me this is more of a floor friendly vacuum but it works great on my carpet. Gets the job done. What really made me like this vacuum is it can be taken apart and used as a smaller vac. I have a outdoor extension cord that I had hooked it up to and it cleaned my entire car from all the dirt my kids track in and out from all their outdoor activities. If your looking for a small vacuum to get a quick job done this one is for you :). But get a hefty vac for thicker rugs that would be better.

Waste of money

Virtually no suction, unbearable loud, vibrates in my hand. Bought to pick up the little bits of chaff when doing my daily cleaning around a parakeet cage. It barely picks up anything, a d sometimes it just moves it around. Dirt Devil used to be a value for small cleaning needs, now I'm out the price of this unusable machine as I now need to buy something else. I will never buy another Dirt Devil product again.

Barely works after a few uses

I bought this vaccuum just for one area rug, the rest of my apartment is hardwood flooring. It's a very tightly woven/short pile rug so I figured an inexpensive vacuum would be fine. It worked okay at first, but after just a few uses it barely makes a difference. I’ve opened the vacuum up and thoroughly cleaned it out multiple times but it just barely works no matter what. I go over and over the same areas and it only gets maybe 50% of the dust/hair. Huge waste of money.

Previous model was much better

Had to replace previous Dirt Devil after a little plastic piece broke off. This model was the only option. Removing cannister (to empty debris) is difficult - plastic slide doesn't work well. Previous model had a rigid filter that was easy to empty. The Vibe filter is cloth, which debris clings to, so removal is unpleasant. Even cord hook is badly designed, it doesn't hold the entire length of cord! A product re-design should fix problem areas, not create new ones! This is just a poor design and I would not recommend.

Don't buy no return

This is not as pictured. It looks like a vacuum but it’s a metal rod and a hand held vacuum. The vacuum didn’t pick up any thing on my carpet and the plug in feature made it hard to use. I tried to vacuum out the closets but I could not reach the closest outlet. I tried to return it but target won’t accept a return in this because it was used. Total waste of $50.

I bought this after moving into my new home, which has all hardwood or tile floors. I wish it had more suction, but for the price point, it is fine. The cord is a little short. My biggest problem is dog hair and for that, it picks up fine. For bigger debris it needs a few passes. I will probably put this upstairs which only has one bed and bath on the whole floor. I will be purchasing another, more heavy duty vacuum for our main living area.

Good little vacuum

I like this vacuum, however, it's only good for low pile carpet and floors. I moved and I have high pile carpet, and while it does pick up some things, it cannot pick up crumbs etc. deep in the carpet. This vacuum works perfect on low pile carpet and flooring. Easy to clean the cup and filter. I have not used the hand held vac feature yet. I would recommend this dirt devil product.

Good vacuum, but a flimsy handle (stick)

Better than expected vacuum function on low pile carpet. Would be good to know what the kPa spec is. Seller could not provide this spec and did not go get it. Dirt Devil would not provide this spec to me. Handle (stick), to operate the vacuum as an upright, is flimsy in its attachment to the rest of the vacuum - reasonable to expect it will fail, i.e., break off the plastic piece it fits into.

Doesn't last long

I bought this itemlast year earlier and it worked pretty good. It is lightweight and has good suction power. Works on both hardwood surface as well as carpets. Detatchable handle made it easy to use it to clean my car seats too. But just couple months after 1yr warranty its suction power is completely gone. Now it can't pick even hair from the wooden or carpet floor. I would recommend buy different product if you are looking for long term usage.

Horrible

Returned one after a month thinking it was just a fluke had the insurance useless even when exchanging it the girl at customer service said not to buy it. Brought the other one home worked for about two weeks and the brush doesn’t turn anymore same as the other one. I have tried everything thinking it was something I was doing. Nope it’s just a bad product. Worth it just to spend more on a better product not worth the time and headache!!!!

Read the Description more than twice!!

The Vacuum never even made it out of the box, when I give it a two star rating thats not really fair. I missed the part when reading all the features that it does have a Cord. I am usually one of those who has someone overlook these things but when seeing the price and just new it said it was cordless, I think knowing thats what I have been wanting not just for those who help me out due to a Bad Car Wreck I am getting that little bit more stability back where I can possibly use it myself my parents have one that allowed me to try out. And so I really thought I had to snatch it up fast before I missed out. I am very sorry for the confusion I hope I haven't shorted someone and you all that sale but the good news once reading the outside of the box. And in my mind, "It Say's This Vacuum Is not Cordless & It is does have a cord you **** thats how bad I feel. The good news is it should be safe and sound back on y'all's shelf. Thank You And hope you'll understand
