This 42 inch neo-angle shower kit fit the bill for our bathroom remodel. It lacked instructions for how to properly mount the base, but I reached out to customer support and about a month later (!) they sent a PDF explaining all the steps. Fortunately, that worked with my install schedule. The glass and hinges are sturdy and should last a lifetime. An extra set of hands is a good idea for installing. The glass panels are HEAVY! I recommend this kit.

No response from company about leaking base

Like another reviewer wrote, where the door meets each wall, it leaks profusely. We contacted the company a week ago using the email listed in their responses to reviews asking for advice, and they've ghosted us. Here's what I wrote in an email:

Misled then let down -- do not buy

I was recommended by the "pros by these products together" suggestion to get the 36" shower pan and wall combo. This cost my company about $2000. The unit requires a 38" shower pan, but Home Depot in their infinite wisdom recommended us a 36" pan to match the enclosure. After being on hold for two hours with their resolution department, the supervisor bullied me into accepting a $500 gift card or nothing, offered no explanation, and essentially told me to kick rocks. Piggish and stingy company.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOOR KIT TO ANYONE

I faced issues from start to finish with this kit. The glass is quality but the hardware is not. I received defective parts and am on my second warranty claim in the midst of installing this kit. Wasted so much time and money hiring help which the company will not compensate you for, even though they provide you with parts that have known issues. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Shower enclosure size ≠ shower tray size

Its a good product, bjt they dont give you all the information you need when purchasing the shower tray and shower enclosure seperately. Reference my picture, if you buy a 38” shower tray, the corresponding enclosure is 36”, not 38”. I didnt discover this until i was cursing dreamline’s name at midnight last night trying to figure out if they sent me the wrong product. I’ll remove the negative review when I see an update on the item description.

The quality of the product is decent as far as today's standards are. The weight of the glass is a little overkill in my opinion but the reason for 2 stars is because the installation instructions (as far as measurements go) for the door were non existent. It was even a challenge to find them online because the model number doesn't come up in search. We will not be buying this model again. We also waited over 30 minutes on hold for tech support. Unacceptable.

I selected the DreamLine Prism Semi-Frameless Neo-Angle Pivot Shower Enclosure because it is attractive, sturdy, and has 3/8” tempered treated glass panels (Most of the competition has thinner glass). I paired this with the DreamLine low-profile shower base because it too was one of the sturdiest units I found. The enclosure and the base are made for each other and the fit was perfect.

Great shower surround!

This Dreamline shower enclosure is beautiful. Looks high end with the thick glass and black trim. If you spend the time like I did making sure your base is perfectly level it goes together very easily. You’ll need a helper for the door though. Great trim fins to deflect water back inside. Couldn’t be happier with this unit.

My experience started out poorly, by ordering the wrong size (36”) for my 36” Neo angle shower base. When I called Dream Line, they immediately told me that was the wrong size, and I needed a 34”. Combing the web site, I found nothing that gave that important hint at time of order.

Makes Bathroom Look Bigger

I thought I would upgrade the guest bathroom but the clear glass shower door completely transformed it. I love how practical this shower is, how much spacious and modern the bath looks, and how it allows to showcase the tiles. I have had this for 2 months and used it almost daily (although for guests) to see if I could identify issues. The maintenance so far is a piece of cake. Hopefully it will sustain the same glass clarity and beauty after longer use. Based on my limited experience I would strongly recommend this for small bath spaces.

Good shower

As a DIYer, I had a difficult time aligning the door opening. The floors and walls were plumb. Though it didn’t seal fully it doesn’t leak. I’m sure a pro installer would do a perfect job. My issue is with customer service. There was a part missing and l had to pay $20 shipping for the replacement part which didn’t seem fair. Otherwise, it a very nice shower. My son said “It’s like-a hotel shower”.

Great product. Highly recommend.

I’m handy but not a pro installer by any stretch. I installed my door by myself but ran into a snag or two you might find helpful. First, the dimensions of my existing base were close but not the same as the recommended base, so I had to recalculate the threshold measurements. Next, I had a wall out of plumb. The adjustable glass/wall profiles provided with the kit took care of that problem nicely. The last issue was with the vinyl sweeps that slip on the bottom and pivot-side of the door. The instructions tell you to install and trim them before hanging the door. Prolly works for a pro that has done it before, but as a jack-of-all-trades homeowner, I’d have hung the door, then installed and trimmed the vinyl sweeps. You might have already guessed that I trimmed both sweeps too short, leaving gaps for some serious leaks. The company is graciously replacing the vinyl sweeps at no charge. I’ll be able to replace them without any disassembly. Finally, these glass plates are heavy and I very much appreciated my pro suction cups.

This shower system turned out awesome in our bathroom renovation. My husband is much handier than most and was able to install on his own. A few things you need to know what youre doing from the get-go. You have to make sure you get your tile surround just right, know where your studs are, everything. We initially had water pouring out of the door, but we quickly realized we needed to purchase a shower arm extender to point our rain shower head down rather than angled out. That simple change prevents any water from being directed at the door or the hinges. This system is plenty big, but I dont think I would want to go damage with this neo angle design. Overall, a good purchase!

Beautiful enclosure

Very nice quality enclosure that wasn't too hard to install. The instructions could be clearer, but were adequate for the average DIYer to follow. They could have added more instruction on where all needed to be sealed with silicone sealant. I had a minor leak coming from where the metal that you place onto the edge of the glass that will meet the wall is slid into the metal wall bracket that you screw into the wall. Without any sealant along that seam, water was getting in that wall bracket and making its way down behind the sealant along the bottom and then out onto the floor. Overall it was an easy fix, it just wasn't covered in the installation instructions. The door sweep on the bottom also seemed to be too short or the instructions show it being installed backwards. It was letting water splash out until I turned it opposite of what the instructions depicted. It seems to work alright now. Also, the hardware wasn't labeled well at all, so it can be a chore trying to figure out what hardware is used for which steps.

ThIs shower is a dream come true! I had a old tub and have wanted to have it torn out and level up to a shower. Over many years (12!) I have look d into the he upgrade through various sources like lowes which have limited options. Recently I had saved enough to get the ball rolling and decided to see what Home Essentials Direct had to offer and I was very surprised to find this shower complete kit. ( Exactly what I had in mind! ) So I had to get it! I love it! Its such a breeze to open the door and just have a more worry free experience! If you have well water even with a water softener the black base will help so much. It is gloss black but also has a texture that helps you keep your footing. The panels and door are awesome. Could not have found a better shower! Very happy with this shower! It has made my bathroom more spacious and more visually appealing to say the least. I really really hated my tub set up. This is so worth it! When I can get a better picture i will add it. The picture i uploaded does not do it justice. It looks absolutely awesome!

Good quality, poor design.

I'm writing his review one year after installation. This particular unit was the only one to fit my older odd sized shower. It is not a prebuilt unit, rather a custom shower built to fit a smaller bathroom. The walls were a bit out of plumb, but the provided hardware easily allowed for adjustment on both stationary sides. This allowed for the door to be mounted with ease. After sealing the unit (I used pure silicone) and waiting a day I installed the seal stripping. After a whole year I have yet to see a drop of water pass through ANY part of this enclosure. This is my third enclosure and It is quite honestly the best unit on the market.

[Rewarded Review] Installed solo in an old house with wonky walls!

This is a great product! I live in an old house with wonky walls that I did my best to get plumb, level, etc. However, I'm no pro, so there was some inevitable wonkiness. Installing this unit with a DreamLine base worked very very well. I was able to do it by myself in about 4 hours. Using an industrial glass holding suction cup was crucial, as was a sharp, sharp utility knife. The hardest part is getting the door onto the hinges, probably worth doing that with another person to assist you. I was able to level the door to compensate for the wonk in the walls and it has been working like a dream. The lines are super clean and the product has been very solid after a month of use. Using a squeegee and a cloth to wipe down after each use helps keep it looking fresh too.
