Dreamline Duet Shower Doors

I ordered this semi frameless shower door to replace a 12 year old semi frameless because the bar handle broke and could no longer be repaired and replacement parts couldn't be purchased. My husband and I went to Lowe's to look and initially looked at Kohler doors. I wanted the oil rubbed bronze finish because my Kohler bathroom faucets and shower fixtures are all oiled rubbed bronze and I didn't want to go through the expense of replacing them, plus it's hard to get this finish and the Kohler didn't come in it. we went to a few other places to look and then I went to Lowe's online and found the Duet. I ordered it and about a week or so later it was delivered to my house. No issues at all with the delivery, the packages were sealed and all the parts included. The next day it was installed and my husband and I couldn't be happier. The doors are a lot thicker and sturdier than our former set.It wasn't the easiest to install as per our contractor but the quality is excellent and the price was great!

Doors are not easy to shut in place. Takes some effort to make sure they shut totally. Contractor was surprised they use plastic guides instead of rubber,

Missing Parts

My contractor has installed the shower door for me today and found out that there are two parts missing from Parts List: #13A Left and #13C Right. The installation was not fully completed at the moment without these guide blocks. In addition, 2 of 4 Rollers were fitted loosely with one of the glass panel which we believed that it is a little thinner than the other panel so we ended up adding a shim in between.

Shower door review

I liked the quality of the product. My contractor is actually going to buy this exact product for his own bathroom remodel.

A bit more complex complicated to install .

A very solid door. I picked this one because of its substantial frame which covers where the old door was. It looks great too.

Beautiful Upgrade

I wanted to upgrade my 16 year old hinged shower door and replace it with a sliding door. I hated the hinged door because it would open into a narrow walk way partially blocking the path and dripping on the floor if you decided to leave the door open. I also hated the hinged door because I was constantly replacing the bottom door sweep because it would eventually tear from opening and closing the door. The static glass on the door was held into the frame with clear plastic seals which eventually yellowed and trapped mold. I picked this door because it looked like a high end hotel shower door with its thick, frameless glass and brushed aluminum, nickel colored frame. The install was fairly easy where I did most of it myself, just having my wife help with moving and installing the glass. Each glass panel weighs about 60 pounds and can be somewhat awkward trying to move it around. Just a few caveats I encountered during the install process. First, before the door arrived I decided to download and read the install manual directly from the Lowe's website. This way I was prepared with my measurements. Well that was a HUGE mistake. Since I didn't have a miter saw, I did all the cutting by hand with a hacksaw. So I cut both my top and bottom rails according to the downloaded manual. I then assembled the frame, and went to put it into my opening to mark where I needed to drill holes in my tile. UNFORTUNATELY the assembled frame was too wide for my opening. So I checked my measurements again against the downloaded manual and everything seemed right. So I'm thinking something isn't right so I looked at the manual that came with door. That manual said I needed to cut off an extra 1/2 inch. It turns out the Lowe's website has an old revision of the manual. Needless to say I was kind of POed because I had to re-saw that extra 1/2 inch off both the top and bottom frames. If I had a miter saw that would have been super easy, but I didn't and had to make those cuts again with my hacksaw. I'm just glad the cuts came out perfect the second time. My second issue had to do with putting the screws into the side of the frame to secure it to the wall. It was a good thing I did a dry run prior to caulking behind the frame rails because I ended up dropping a screw down into the frame rail since the install screws don't have the depth to meet the hole in the wall before they disappear into the rail. So before I did my final install I used tape on the interior rail to make a bridge under each mounting hole. This way the screw wouldn't be able to fall down into the rail if I happened to miss the hole. The door looks great and works wonderfully. Both my wife and I love the upgrade. Lowe's needs to put the right version of the manual on their website. The only thing that would make this door better is if you could send the company your measurements and they cut the rails for you. Cutting the frames was the worse part of the process.

Beautiful door. My mother loves it. Especially the spot free coating. She has had it installed a couple weeks and had not had to wipe water spots off.

This is a very heavy shower door. Installation wasn’t “easy”, but went smoothly. The “brushed nickel” is more gold than the other brushed nickel in the bathroom. The glass cleans easily. I attribute that to the special coating. More expensive than most, but well worth the $.

Contractor considered the door installation harder than what he expected. Instructions not easy to follow. Installation looks nice and doors operate smoothly. Would recommend based on using them for 3 weeks.

[Rewarded Review] Heavy shower doors but once up great looking.

The doors came in perfect condition, the doors slide easy on rollers but it could use extra guides on the bottom as they have a little wabble. The adjuster are great as my walls are definitely not plumb.

[Rewarded Review] Sturdy Shower Doors

I would highly recommend these shower doors! They are heavy enough that they do not wobble, but they glide very smoothly when you open or close them. The bars are handy for hanging the tub mat to dry and for drying washcloths inside the shower.

Really like the doors. Just what we needed for our space. Little more difficult to install than most. Having slight issue with occasional leaking in corner but still trouble shooting. Customer service easy to reach.

Nice Shower Doors - Would buy again.

Love this shower door. We needed one in oil rubbed bronze to match our other bathroom fixtures and since our guest shower opening is only about 45 inches wide, our choices were limited. We received the door, took our time installing - used diamond bits (one bit per hole) to drill into our new granite - did not want to crack it. The door frame allows for the walls to be slightly uneven (which most houses are). The glass doors are nice, thick and sturdy, had no problems putting anything together and installing. Just take your time. The only thing I was not happy with was the plastic tracks in each corner and middle for the glass doors to slide, are gray. Contacted Dreamline, but they stated that it only comes in gray. Black would have been a better choice if we could not get dark brown. Will try and research to see if I can get a different color through another place. But over all, that is just a small cosmetic thing and does not take away from the nice look of the shower doors. Very pleased with them.

Cheap Hardware

Difficult to install and cheap material. They supply cheap hardware. The screws were too short and weak. In order a black door the numbers and by passing holder are all in gray.
