DON"T BUT THE 1 13,000 EH Dual fuel DUROMAX GENERA

My brand new out of the box Duramax 13000 eh will not start has no spark. Waited on line for a hr for support, they offered nothing. I asked for supervisor he sent me new battery for dead battery, new hotter spark plug & a new plug wire & new pickup for flywheel / Still no fire @ spark plug . I have called & left 5 voicemails for supervisor, NO Returned calls. I have emailed tech support. GUESS WHAT THIS LEFT ME DOWN in the middle of a hurricane & I NOW HAVE A $1,500 PAPER weight !!! WAHT A GREAT COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT

Works like a charm and is indeed whole house

Even though a little difficult for this old fart to put together, absolutely awesome. It is large enough to run whole house, including 2 extra freezers, a well pump and a dryer.

Whole House After Hurricane Milton

The XP13000EH performed flawlessly in the wake of Hurricane Milton, which was the first time I used it under emergency conditions. The whole neighborhood gathered at my house for charging, wifi and cooler temperatures because my A/C was easily powered using this unit. One caveat, it's pretty noisy. Since this first experience, I have invested in a pad for the side of my house near where I plug the generator in, so that the noise will be a bit lower on the street and shield the generator from public view. Definitely worth having this during the emergency, which lasted 24 hours here, but I ran the generator for only 11 hours that first time.

I was extremely please at the way this portable generator is constructed - very solid!! The only reason that I gave it a “4 star” is that most of these generators- regardless of make or brand - rely on a battery with which I have had some problems - like seriously flat. I would recommend attaching a Delray 800 milliamp battery conditioner, notwithstanding that the battery is linked to to a charger. Never had a failure since on my older Generac! 8K-10K model.

I really like how it was packaged. Including the nice foam to put the generator upside down to work on is great. The construction is great. The ease of getting it ready is great. Having a sealed battery really helps. I cant wait to need it to run the house. I have another brand generator and the 50 amp plug is above the wheel and with the heavy duty cord it was hard to plug it in. This power panel doesnt have any issues plugging a cord with a 90 degree plug because its open below the power panel.

Perfect performance!

I purchased this generator through Amazon Prime 9-28-2022. This year I finally installed a generator inlet box so we would be able to easily connect it to run the entire house. We finally had the need for the generator this week due to Hurricane Milton. This unit ran perfectly for all 32 hours we put on it. Plenty of power for the ENTIRE house including the A/C. (I had also installed an EasyStart (ASY-368-X48), Air Conditioner Soft Start, to be sure there would be no issue.) I highly recommend this unit!

Expensive garbage

Bought the generator from Home Depot and brought it home and did the assembly required. Hooked it up, after a few minutes it started. Couple month later, went to test it again and it would not start (not the battery as it’s on a trickle charger and had tested at NAPA). They said it’s the starter and sent a new one and two pages of replacement instructions that an experienced mechanic would struggle with. The nearest authorized repair shop they’ll pay for is 4+hrs away. Buy something else.

DuroMax 1300EH

After doing a ton of research, I kept coming back to Duromax. The reviews and resources I spoke with all seemed to say the same thing...DuroMax is quality and will last long and it made of quality materials. Sure you can maybe save a few bucks and get something a little cheaper, but I found that those who bought the cheaper brands were either complaining about wear parts breaking down too quick or running issues. So far this generator has been flawless. I had an enectrician come out and put a switch on my panel and a plug on the side of the house. Simple to connect. I bought this primarily for hurricane season. Eastern NC gets it fair shair of storms and we tend to lose electricity for 2-3 days at a time. I have used propane and gas and both work well but gas obviously gets a bit more power. I don't need to power the entire house but with the fridge, a room air conditions, various lights, hot water heater and occasional microwave or oven I have never gone above 50% use. I have a 2800 sq/ft house and an airconditioner that pulls 85amps at the panel. Not sure I could run the house on the AC eventhough I see folks do it.

Delivery arrived on the correct date but latter than first told. The driver was friendly %26 courteous and helped my wife position the generator into the garage. The generator came with all tools %26 parts. Very good instructions to set up the generator. The box %26 contents were good. The generator started right up with propane gas. Have not tested it with electrical transfer switch. I will test it this week. Very happy with my purchase.

Features are attractive, reliability questionable

I purchased this last year and was excited to have a functioning backup generator for my home with enough capacity to run all major systems on a manual transfer switch. The idea of this being available in the event of a storm or major power outage was great - until I needed it.

Emergency Power

I don't remember the date that I purchased this generator off of eBay, but I had it 3 yrs. before I ever hooked it up. It's been hooked up to my house now for about 2yrs. I don't know where the purchase receipt is that Duramax asked me for. I'm not looking for a warranty, but I do need some help troubleshooting. It's has been a great generator and hasn't giving me any problems until recently 2 weeks ago it all the sudden wouldn't even try to start. It has a good, charged battery. I found that I'm not getting any power to the ignition switch / Push to Start button, also no power to the multimeter display. I always heard that Duramax has a good support team, so I'm reaching out to try and get some help on what I can do to get my generator going again.

Workhorse

Purchased this Generator to run the entire house including 3.5 to central A/C system. We are in central Florida and are prone to large storms and Hurricanes. I installed a Micro Air soft start on the A/C and installed an Interlock on the main power panel along with 50 amp breaker and power inlet plug. I changed the spark plug to the proper NGK plug for propane use. Fires up on the first push of the button and runs very smoothly. After the 8 hour break in I will plug into the home for a full load test.

Strong generator

Generator deliver in good condition the driver was very helpful and waited for me to open the box to check the generator which was in good condition. After setting up the generator I ran it on gas for 4 hrs and then changed the oil let it cool off and then ran it for 4 more hours and changed the oil to full synthetic and changed the spark plug to a ngk. Next day hooked up to the house and ran the generator on propane for a hour it ran everything but the hot water heater it pulled to much power when the AC cycled . Generator will get us through a power outage Thanks.

Exceptional Power and Fast Delivery

This is an amazing generator! Received it super fast, and it effortlessly powered my entire 1500sf house. It's slightly loud, but that's a minor detail considering its impressive power. This is certainly a valuable addition to my home investments. Be sure to perform general maintenance. Couldn't be more pleased!

Awesome, simply, Awesome

Bought this last week and spent an hour setting it up. Easy to do, instructions were precise. I planned on using Propane for the regular check-ups, but I have 5 5gal Jerry cans for the gas. My wife actually figured out that if we buy 5 gallons every so often, then as it ages, we pour into the car and go refill the Jerry can we wont need additives. The break-ion running for 6 hours went fine, used about a half of a 20# tank, after break-in we tested the use of the generator and it went flawless.

POWERHOUSE With EXTREME Attention to Detail

Nothing haphazard going on with this Company! From the unpacking to the first test run you KNOW that these people don't miss a beat! Researched generators for 3 weeks before choosing my Duromax and am blown away by this baby. So much so, that my friend followed up immediately by purchasing his own. This is not my first generator!

Frustration at No Extra Charge

This is my forth portable generator in 50 years. The second one (Generac) I still have and is still running which is more than I can say about the DuroMax right out of the box. The Tech Support is terrible with no response to Emails or phone calls. They don't do warranty work, they have the customer do it and just keep throwing parts at you to try and fix the problems. And it only takes 4 months for the parts to be delivered. If you want a good portable generator go with Generac, Kohler, Honda or even a HF Predator. You will be far ahead just with the frustration provided by DuroMax. Essentially No Warranty!!!

Generator I received has a BONDED NEUTRAL!

It matters whether the generator has a bonded or floating neutral depending on how you plan to use the generator - house backup power vs portable power (construction site, etc.). There is no neutral information in the User Manual included with the generator. The Service Manual, however, clearly states on the specifications page this generator model has a Floating Neutral - this is INCORRECT! Upon testing my brand new generator with a multimeter I find the Neutral and Ground are BONDED!

I was disappointed to find the manual shipped with this generator was outdated, RevXP1300EH-8032020.

13000 Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator

I just received my unit yesterday and plan on putting it together today. It was shipped with great care. If this unit performs as it should I will be a happy camper. I have an underground propane tank with 200 gallons of fuel just sitting there. I went all electric 8 years ago so I now have a use for the propane and the tank. We get hurricanes through here quite often so I am having the electric and gas work done over the next week or so to use this to power my home during outages. I currently use UPSs (Back up Battery - Uninterruptable Power Supplies) on all sensitive devices to stabilize the current to those devices. Will update this review if necessary upon use of this product.
