Tahoe Highboy TV Stand

I am very upset about this purchase. More than likely it's my fault that I bought the nightmare that sits in front of me. I've seen this same piece on other sights way cheaper but because I was purchasing furniture from a major retailer I made the mistake of thinking it would be assembled when it arrived. Not the case. I'm in my late sixties with rheumatoid arthritis and very much unable to assemble the stand. I've had it for weeks just sitting in the box it came in. I now have to budget for a handyman to assemble it. The instruction booklet may as well be in Latin. I can't believe I was so taken on this deal. Why charge so much for an unassembled piece of furniture? It will be hard for me to do business with JC Penny ever again.

Great stand

I have had this cabinet for eight years. I dont use it for a tv stand. I have knicknacks on top and in the glass part I have my collection of shot glasses. Its really nice. Its a good size and looks good in my dining rooom. It really held up.

This item would have made me happy, but there were several issues. First, the directions were very difficult to follow. The pieces did not fit together well because some holes didn’t line up. The pieces are not all the same color, and the cheap material easily chips during assembly. The drawers are hard to move in and out, and I used my own glue because what came was inadequate. This item was definitely overpriced.I am so disappointed.

Satisfied with this purchase

After reading all the reviews about how difficult it was to assemble I thought twice about purchasing this but I did anyway and I am happy that I did. Yes there are many pieces to sort out and it did take 2 people that are not handy to assemble it but we took our time and followed the directions. It fits perfect in the space it was intended for and I like the color. I chose the walnut finish. I am happy with this purchase.

Great Cabinet at Reasonable Price

Very nice cabinet, great instructions, all parts are well marked and they fit together perfectly. Any damaged parts are promptly replaced. The cabinet is attractive and is stable. We bought a pillar stand for our large TV and it fits perfectly on the cabinet, no need to mount on the wall.

Mildly disappointed.

First of all the box was damaged in shipment. The back corner of the cabinet top was chipped. The ball bearings were coming out of one of the drawers. Had to replace the drawer guide. The shelf holes were misaligned so the shelf sat crooked. Too much trouble to send it back. Luckily my husband was able to make the repairs.

I love this. I searched in stores and on line for a couple months for a television stand that fit my needs and, one that I liked. I stumbled across this one while doing an internet search & knew it was what I was looking for. I ordered it on a Sunday and it was delivered on Wednesday, one day earlier than I was told while ordering. The instructions were a bit vague but with the help of my 75 year old sister we got it all assembled. It fits perfectly in my room and I love it.

It was sealed over but all I kept thinking was if something rubs up against this piece it is going to come off and hurt someone. So that was as far as it got. Resealed box and took product back because I felt for the price that should not happen. I wish this stand would have worked out because I really liked the look and the size of it.

Good value, minor inconveniences

This TV stand is good value and looks good enough in a small area. It took 6 hours to build. Three screws were too short, requiring an emergency run to the hardware store. A power drill was necessary to put in the screws to hold the glass door. The piece feels solid, but the middle shelf just rests on the pins. It's not secure, but easily movable if you have to move components. One irritation is the drawers--they need to be one inch deeper or higher, so the DVD's will sit up sideways--so I can read the spines/labels. I ended up putting them inside the glass door so I can see them. Not my first choice. Generally, happy with the piece.

Really nice, great quality for the money.

I looked for a long time for the right size for the bedroom, I wanted a taller unit so that the tv was a bit higher than the bed. And I didn't want to spend a small fortune on a stand for the bedroom. This stand is 36" tall and wide, so it was the perfect size.I've put a few flat-pack furniture items together, but this was by far the nicest. The box was pretty banged up when I got it, so I was a little worried that there might be some damage. But it was packed so well that there was no damage whatsoever. The pieces were well marked, and so was the hardware. Each type of hardware was in its own little bag, and each little bag was numbered.I got the Espresso color and the real wood parts were a beautiful darker color with a bit of a reddish tint. The only complaint that I have is that the "fake" wood parts were darker. It’s a bit tough at some points without a second person. Disappointed my cabinet was not assembled as I was informed at time of purchase. The adjustable shelves on right side of cabinet do not fit snug; need to be shimmed w/parchment paper or perhaps larger pegs. If I were to return product would it require dismanteling? I am still trying to evaluate this purchase for it's stability.

I love this Tahoe Highboy TV Stand

I did a lot of research on this tv stand, reading comments on Amazon.com and here. Walmart had the best price and so I took the dive. I mostly knew what I was in for, and I was going to be assembling it alone. I received it quickly and set aside an afternoon to put it together. I was so excited, but everything came to a screeching halt once I unboxed and organized all of the (many!) pieces according to numbers. I just could not figure out the diagram and directions for the cams for the first large pieces. I was stuck for over an hour until I figured it out then it started coming together. I am a 57 year old disabled woman and it took me 6 hours all together to get it assembled and I was exhausted but so happy with the final product...it is beautiful. Be careful to NOT push too hard on anything. I ended up with a hole on the side of my stand because I was frustrated and pushed a little too hard. All in all I love this and highly recommend, just be prepared to spend a lot of time if you are assembling it alone. It is worth it once it is finished! Less

Nice high TV stand

I am using this high height TV entertaiment enter for 50†Plasma TV in bedroom that matches in color with other furniture. Look nice. Can watch TV from my bed. Took long time to put it together. Don’t get any extra screws or other parts for putting it together. Wooden glue wasn’t enough.

The overall look is very nice. However, it is moderately difficult to assemble (I recommend not using the Allen wrench it comes with as it is almost useless, and instead using a Phillips head and regular screwdriver instead). The interior pieces are made of a lower grade particle board which chip easily. In addition, the back panel din't fit entirely correctly, which was not too difficult to correct with a bit of nudging. The shipping cart came quite damaged, but miraculously there was only one small chip to the top which can be repaired with a little paint and wood filler. All in all we are satisfied with it's use in a utility room, but if you are looking for a quality piece of furniture I would look for another more expensive piece.

Really nice TV stand for the money! Has a quality look with a lot of solid wood and an attractive finish. Comes disassembled with a lot of pieces, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow; so my husband had no difficulty putting it together. There is some particle board in the interior/back construction, but at this price-point - and actually at higher prices - that is what you are going to get in most furniture of this type. It is quite sturdy, and just the right size for the space: in the bedroom with a 32" flat-screen, and it's just perfect. Could easily hold a size larger TV, too. Be sure to take note of the dimensions, and measure against the space you plan to place it in, and you won't have a problem. Very happy with this purchase!

I recently ordered the Copper Grove Angelina t v stand. The box arrived damaged, but fortunately the item was not. I have put items together before, but this particular item was difficult to get started. The directions were not easy to follow and I needed to ask my husband for help. The color was very disappointing!! It doesn't look anything like the picture on the website and doesn't match my furniture. I'm now trying to find a way to make it darker, so this project is costing me much more than it should. The style of the t.v. stand is nice, but again looks much nicer in the picture. It will serve the purpose for what I bought it for, but I am disappointed.

The description of this item says that it is made of wood, glass, and metal. It did not mention MDF, as many other items do. Whatever it is exactly, this item is make mostly of particle board. Only the top surface piece appears to be actual wood. Most surfaces are particle board with a vinyl covering that's printed to look like wood. This surface is VERY delicate and easily scratched. This will be good as a temporary stand for a TV but I can foresee the day a couple of years from now when it will be tossed in the dumpster.

This is a really great unit and was easy to assemble BUT shipping was a disaster. The box was torn to pieces. If it wasn't for the diligence and careful packaging of the manufacturer this item would have been torn apart during shipping. Upon arrival the box was torn up and when unpacking it the styrofoam was actually broken up into really small pieces. Small enough that we had to vacuum it off each piece as we unpack it. But it was packed so well that it survived the rough shipping fully intact. Thought you might want to know this for the next shipment.

I took a photo of this but could not do it justice. This was the first piece of furniture I have ever put together myself. It was an empowering experience. I am a woman if I didn't mention that so building something with your own hands can be kind of empowering. My bedroom set is an espresso color with a hint of mahogany. This tv stand matches almost exactly. It is that perfect shade that would blend with most dark woods. I have a sleigh bed which is set up a little higher than a standard bed so this high stand is the perfect height. I have a 40 inch flat screen on the stand now. I have tested a 50 inch on it too because I am considering moving mine from the living room. It still fits and it is not too heavy. If you were to go any larger than 50 inches you should go with a wider stand. This piece is a keeper and the quality is really nice. I am very, very inexperienced in furniture assembly. This took me about 2 1/2 hours to assemble. I am counting in the time I looked up how to assemble "cam-locks" on YouTube". A piece of hardware used in furniture assembly that I found a little challenging at first. Several furniture assemblies later I am a pro!! One more quick tip. I have upgraded to using a power screwdriver/drill. Be really careful when you are using power tools with furniture that you assemble at home. It really speeds up the assembly time but if the power/torque is too high you can crack the wood. Less

Quality at a Reasonable Price

This TV stand is very well made and looks great in my family room. It looks much better than the pictures on the web site. It is very sturdy and heavy duty. I was pleasantly surprised when I finished putting it together. The instructions are very easy to follow with detailed pictures showing the way each piece fits. It does take about 3 hours to put together but it is not difficult at all and well worth it when you see the finished product. There was a shelf missing but I emailed Convenience Concepts and they sent a replacement immediately. Their customer service is exceptional. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality piece of furniture.
