Great Dishwasher, But With One Annoying Feature

We recently purchased a new double dishwasher to replace our 12-year-old F&P double dish drawer that needed an expensive repair. For the most part, we really love the new model - it cleans dishes extremely well, is much quieter than our old DW, and seems more robust, especially in details like the drawer handles (one of which snapped off on the old model after several years of daily use). The only major issue we have with the new DW is the non-adjustable cup racks that are almost useless except for stacking tea cups and other small items. Standard coffee mugs are too tall to put on the racks and prevent the drawer from closing! Luckily, I saved some adjustable racks from the old DW that fit perfectly with the new one. BTW, F&P still sells replacement adjustable cup racks (part nos. 524179 and 524180 and wire supports (part no. 522683). It's just a shame to spend more money to fix what several other F&P dish drawer purchasers have also noted as a very annoying design flaw!

[Rewarded Review] It's an Okay Dishwasher

We needed a new model to replace our previous Fisher & Paykel washer (which had lasted 10 years but was no longer fixable). The new washer seems very similar to the old one. They're "okay" dishwashers. We wash a bunch of glasses often, which is why we wanted the dual drawer. However, in general, these dishwashers are not easy to get serviced and don't always clean as well as other models.

Absolutely Love this Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher

We love the drawer type dishwasher. Under normal daily use we only use the top drawer and that means no bending over to load or unload. This dishwasher is super quiet while running.

Not the same drawer dishwasher anymore

I would not recommend to get it. We owned double drawer before and love it , we moved and decided to get for our new house. Dishwasher was redesigned and not the best decision. Very narrow place for plates, so bigger plates don’t even fit. Side shelves don’t even just anymore. I wish we can return.

10 yr replaced with the same one

Easy controls, quiet, some changes from previous version. The ‘shelves’ on the side do not go up and down like the last version to adjust for tall glasses while still being able to use the shelf (pic). Some water still remains on the surfaces after the wash but the dishes are dry (pic). The tines(?) to stand up plates are different heights which would make a full set of plates bang a bit if you had a full serving to put in their (pic). Our last one had issues after 10 yr; not empty, top drawer dripping.

[Rewarded Review] Wish I could send this back

I needed to replace my 10 yo double drawer dishwasher. After 3 weeks of waiting for its arrival I was thrilled, but that happiness did not last long. My 11.5” dinner plates do not fit. I did an online chat with F%26P and was told there is a tall and a standard size. I cannot find that mentioned anywhere in the description. Then I found that the fold down rack for small glasses does not adjust, therefore I cannot put my coffee mugs on the top. Anyway, my 6” Tervis Tumblers are too tall, so I have to fold the rack up. I could adjust the rack in my old dishwasher so it never occurred to me that they would change that.

Best dishwasher on the market!

This is our 3rd Fisher Paykel drawer dishwasher, when moving to a new house there wasn’t a question as to the dishwasher I wanted. This dishwasher is whisper quiet you can’t even tell it’s running. The option of doing a small load is wonderful. The stainless is easy to wipe clean and dishes are spotless. We have well water and it has a very heavy mineral content, I just add a couple capfuls of vinegar to each cycle and have had this current one for 5 years, it runs and cleans like it was new. Very happy with this model.

Best Dishwasher on the Market!

I originally bought the double drawer series for big living in a small kitchen. Love this dishwasher model. It is very space accommodating. Extremely quiet. I had my original for three years, not issues at all. Sold my home. Bought again in new home. Used for almost 5 years, no problems. Will be buying again for another new home kitchen remodel. I will say that owners should always clean out the drains periodically, use dishwasher cleaner to soften and remove any calcium build-up from water. And, have a plumber take a look at it periodically for continued good maintenance. These are a joy to own. I highly recommend!

Broken pieces found inside machine after Best But/Hawaii Unified installer left. Called Best Buy, they said to use machine and they’ll order replacement which will take another 3 months. Used machine that night, heard clucking noise , went down to check on it C and saw sparks flying from under the dishwasher. Husband quickly turn off power breaker switch to machine to prevent potential fire. Hawaii Unified modify electricity when they swap out my old Bosch machine for this one and charged us $189. I e we infer if he did it right yo caused the sparks flying away?

Cleans Great, Looks Great!

Bit of trial and error loading these dishwasher drawers but once you figure it out all the dishes clean great. I love how you can do different loads with different settings. Cooking and appetizer dishes go in the top drawer, I can start it and then little while later I can load dinner dishes and start it. While that’s running and the first drawer finishes I can unload top drawer and load dessert dishes. Living by myself it’s nice not to have to wait days to fill a dishwasher to run a load. I can do a little one drawer at a time without feeling bad about running a half load of dishes. Pretty sturdy and well built. I’ve read how reliable this dishwasher is. Looks great too. Glad I went with this brand and model. Note: I don’t but if you have larger 12” plates you might want to go with one of the other models with a 60/40 split for more room in the top otherwise more than a couple large dishes don’t fit.

[Rewarded Review] Nice dishwasher but pricey

I ultimately ended up choosing this Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher out of necessity more than anything else. The house we moved into had custom cabinetry and our existing dishwasher was a Kitchen Aid double drawer dishwasher. These double drawer dishwashers typically run a little smaller than the standard size dishwashers, so I was pretty limited in my dishwasher selection based on the smaller than standard cutout size available. There were other options available- some not available for a number of months due to supply chain issues while there were others we just liked less. Now that I've provided some context for my selection, let me touch on a few pros and cons of this dishwasher:

[Rewarded Review] Novel design and high efficiency dishwasher!

What a unique dishwasher! It has two separate bins that can be operated independently of each other. No more waiting for full loads to do the dishes. The smart panel knows which drawer you are using and adjusts the controls for that drawer. The dishes come out sparkling clean. It's designed to use finishing rinse and powder detergent, however, you can insert a little (provided) tray into the flatware cage, and it allows you to use packets or tablet-type dishwasher soap. A little red light comes on to tell you when more blue rinse is needed. It's not the quietest dishwasher I've ever had, but it works so well, that I'm not bothered. Also, it is slightly less deep than many models out there, so it fits my older home beautifully.

Well engineered, flexible, and quiet..

We got this unit with a substantial discount when we bought a Fisher Paykel Range, but after using it I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
