Reviews

I have had the set for 3 days and ran 2 loads. We expected install from Lowe’s delivery team….but when they came into our house and saw that our dryer vent was already installed to the wall they refused to install. So they unpacked it outside , kicked the styrofoam from bottom, took 4 bolts off the back side. They would not install supply lines or even plug in or vent. We did all that…but when we ran the 1st 2 loads the washer screeched at the spin cycle. Because I was extremely concerned that this machine was not running well I started reading the online reviews, 2 of which referred to the same problem that resulted from styrofoam being left inside the bottom of the machine. So we uninstalled, then had to tip the machine on its side and lo and behold the styrofoam was not removed. This is the 3rd review indicating that delivery teams are not properly unpacking and should be trained.

Awesome Machine!!!

I bought this washer/dryer because the company I hired mismeasured the area for my side by side by am inch and a half. The new cabinets and counter tops had been installed and when I measured, I found that mistake. Ugh. So after doing my research on stacked washers and dryers, I made the decision to purchase this one. Boy am I happy I made that decision. It has performed perfectly. I love the LG app that.you can use with it. The app tells you when to clean it and keeps you up to date on its health. The app also alerts you when a cycle is complete. It is very easy to use and easy to install. In fact it was the easiest appliance to install out of all the appliances we had installed during our home remodel. I laugh because There are so many features on his machine that I haven't even used all of them because you can download different cycles on your app that are not programmed into the machine and use them as well. LG did a great job with his appliance. I highly recommend this Washer/Dryer.

Replaced side-by-side washer/dryer in very small laundry “room” with a door leading to the garage. Coming in the door you squeezed between the door frame and the dryer, ugh! The laundry tower has vastly improved the area, giving much needed space. Space considerations aside, the washer and dryer are spacious, holding bigger loads than the previous pair. Also much quieter. Biggest complaints are: 1) default water temperature is warm not cold even though cold is the best temperature; 2) the dryer cycles are very rigid in regard to temperature - you cannot change the temperature of a selected cycle. If you want to use a different temperature you have to select the manual timed cycle. Haven’t used the app yet, so can’t comment. Have had the unit about two weeks now. So far very pleased with this purchase. Oh! And it looks nice too! ?

LG washtower

This machine is so amazing, it the quieted machine I ever owned. It works extremely well I am excited and highly satisfied. So pleased with my purchase, it's the best washtower ever for me. This machine makes you want to wash all off the time. You never know it on until the wash/dryer is completed and that when the bell rings. It's fit my space perfect, the deliver teams were excellent they tested everything before leaving to make sure everything were working perfect and that's you understood how it worked. This is the machine to loves, you will not be diaspointed. The sale teams at America Freight in Broadview made sure everything was completed as scheduled and they did a followup to see if everything worked. I am extremely pleased with my purchased, and also with the deliver and sales teams who follow up to assure everything was okay. This machine really exceeds five stars, not withstanding LG is made in the good old USA. Looking for a great washtower, put LG on your list, you want be disappointed, and also, check out America Freight, in Broadview, you want be diaspointed their either. Thank you America Freight and Thank you LG.

Product gets 5 stars. Home Depot installation gets 2. The control panel is a pleasure to use. The sensors that control wash cycles and drying time and heat are very reliable. Once properly balanced, the unit seems very stable despite its size and capacity. The only remaining question is life-span and only time will tell. The disappointment: the installers from Home Depot did not bother to balance the unit or perform the functional tests recommended in the installation guide to be sure the unit was working properly. The unit bounced all over the floor the first time we used it. Customer Service scheduled another visit a week later and offered a $125 refund “for your trouble”after the service was complete. Not wanting to be without laundry facilities for a week, I (over 70 years old) crawled on the floor and figured out how to loosen lock nuts and adjust two of the unit’s feet to achieve the proper balance, using my leveler. As a courtesy, I attempted to cancel the return service visit. Nobody answered the phone. I never heard anything again about the $125.

Full-size but compact!

I chose the washtower because in my house the only place to have laundry is in a closet in the bathroom requiring a stacked set. My previous set was a separate washer and dryer with a stacking kit. The dryer controls are so high in the air I can't read them or even use all of the settings because I can't reach them. This is a separate washer and dryer but in one unit with an integrated control panel in the middle which means I can read and use all of the settings for both appliances. This also allows the top to be about 4.5" lower than the previous stacked set and the dryer opening is lower and therefore easier to get clothes in and out of. Both work well and complete the intended task (washing and drying clothes). The ONLY drawback I have seen so far is that it is very heavy. While it weighs 8 lbs. less than the stacked washer and dryer it replaced, I was able to separate the old set and move them one at a time. This one has to be moved all at once since it is a single unit and it's HEAVY. It was a struggle because of the weight, but once it was in and operational... I love it!

Love the W and D controls both at waist height!!

I replaced a stacked LG washer and dryer, still working but 12.5 years ld. In previous house I han an almost identical stacked Samsung pair. My wife and I are short, so we always disliked having the dryer controls over 6 feet above the floor, hard to see and read controls. We specifically purchased this WashTower (W and D all in one case) becaise the washer and dryer controls are both at waist height. WE LOVE IT! On top of that, the tendency of our older washers to have the cycle description letters and lines wear off with use meant we ran some washer loads based on what the manual told us the settings were. These waist-high controls are ALL GIGITALm displayed behind a glass display, so will never wear off. Woo-Hoo!! And with the President's Day sales, the tower was only slightly more expensive than the separate W/D pair. We are very pleased. Functionally, it operates just like the old pair, only better because they are new, but the ThinQ App tells me by cell phone when the cycles start and finish.

LOVE THIS WASHTOWER! The tubs are much bigger than I expected but works great and is very quiet! You do hear the spin a little when it's doing the final very fast spin but other than that you don't even hear it and I have it close to kitchen area in a VERY small house. Put this in a closet size opening. This was needed as our old washer/dryer full size were in basement and stairs became an issue so had to bring upstairs. Wish we had the made switch over years ago! You won't regret getting this unit. Only thing I would remind you is that if you install yourself to remember to read directions and remove the 4 bolts on back of unit used for shipping, if you don't you will have extremely bad vibration issues and will think something is wrong with machine, but there is nothing wrong, it works perfectly fine once that bolts are removed, so again read install directions completely!

I'm not impressed with the Tower waher/dryer stack

My husband thought this machine would be a great idea for an effortless use combination. My Kenmore washer needed repair. However, since my Kenmore washer (stackable) needs an expensive repair, I gave in, and we purchased it at our local Lowe's. The 1st delivery did not show up on the delivery date. The subcontractors said that they knocked at my door, but no one answered, so they reported that I declined the delivery. We called Lowes wondering why the delivery did not show up. That was not true. I was home all day working in the kitchen so that I would not miss the delivery. The 2nd delivery delivery day, the delivery men unboxed the machine at the end of our drive as I watched from my kitchen window. They came to the door to tell me that the machine had a big dent in the Tower dyer so they could not leave the machine. So, the delivery was not made. We went to Lowe's store, talked to the person in appliances, and he made calls. He said that we should receive some compensation for the frustration unfortunately the home office thought otherwise. The store employee had difficulty with explaining the situation and reasoning with the home office. On the third delivery day, my husband and I were both home. The 2 delivery men were polite and set the tower up . By the way, although, we had recently purchased the duct tubing, hot and cold water hose, electric cord, and other accessories for the washer and dryer, we were forced to purchase a whole new set. Anyway, the tower was hooked up. I asked about any booklets and other papers or accessories for the machines and was given a packet with the booklets. We thanked the delivery guys and then realized that the machines needed to be leveled, which required a special tool. We called Lowe's and went to the store itself requesting our accessories that came with the machine be return as the delivery men took them. The representative said they would check into it and notify us when we could come in and get the parts. We never got a follow-up call, so we went back to the store and were told that Lowe's could not do anything more about it because it was past the store policy time frame for issues to be resolved. Now the machines themselves. The washer has a moaning sound when washing the clothes. The washer seems to slap the clothes down in the washing process as though one is washing clothes at the riverbank. The clothes seem dingy looking. I wipe it down after every use, yet it has an odor, but the book says not to leave the door open. The dryer is like a sandstorm when you open the door after drying. The seal collects debris from the clothes, so when you open the door, you get a face full of lint, and whatever else is trapped in the door and seal. I've noticed that either the dryer over dries shrinking some items or under drying, leaving clothes needing a second dry time. The system is in our walk-in closet. The area is full of debris from the dryer, some we believe, because the dryer exhaust tubing isn't connected properly and the plume of lint and other debris coming from the door seal and off the top of the lint trap/screen. For me, the benefit of the controls centered between the stackable is not worth it. My Kenmore, I had a step stool to use the stacked dryer controls and never had plumes of debris hitting me in the face. I'm sure there are those who love the set. I'm happy for you. The photos show the debris on the door seal, and that drops to the floor when you open the dryer door.
