Salt grinder fell apart after very occasional use

I bought this set in March 2023 for our caravan. They've barely been used. I packed up for winter and brought them home and the salt grinder has broken this evening! Looks like the screw has sheared. Extremely poor quality, especially considering price point. They have been used just a handful of times. I would not recommend.

I've been through so many salt and pepper sets! These are very stylish yet solid . Beautiful colour. They do spill a little but that could be me not being used to this style . If I could have given 4.75 ⭐️I would have done

Fantastic salt and pepper mill

Really lovely colours. Slightly lighter weight than I was expecting. Seems to do the job well. The 4 different grinding sizes it seems to be more of a variable gradient scale than four separate settings. The cover is a good idea to stop steam clogging up the system but you do need to tap it regularly to stop build up happening. Anyway, this is legit the best salt and pepper mill we have bought. It’s worth the crazy price as it does seem built to last. My partner increases the wear and tear speed astronomically and this is our third set this year but I’m confident these seem here to stay 😂

Perfect, quality, looks great

I wanted S&P grinders that wouldn’t lose their grind, don’t leave mess where they stand/live, and looked good (I didn’t want old fashioned looking wooden grinders). These are great quality, you can tell when you’re using them, and because they sit upright, where the S&P come out of the top, they don’t forever leave the grinding everywhere. They feel really nice in your hands, and I love that you can easily change the coarse/fineness of the output. I had deliberated for ages over what S&P grinders to buy and I’m not disappointed with my choice at all. Very happy, and best price was Lakeland.

Better than I expected

The shakers are better than I hoped. They feel lovely to use and are very attractive to look at. The salt and pepper is distributed over a large area with each turn. There is no leakage at all, as the shakers are turned upside down to use them.

Functional and Sophisticated

I read the reviews before purchasing and was not disappointed. I had been searching for some modern looking and super performance mills. These fit both criteria for me. I purchased during a sale, the best price I could find on the market. The mills have the ability to easily change the coarseness of the salt and pepper grind. I am so happy I purchased these

Absolutely dreadful. Avoid.

Dreadful product. JJ are usually great but they’ve tried to ‘over style’ these and they just don’t work. Salt gets clogged at the top. It’s intermittent and inconsistent. You have to tilt on its side to dispense and overall it’s just a terribly made product. Was a gift so now I’m disappointed because they’re rubbish, and my wife is because I love my cooking and she chose them based on research thinking they were great. So very disappointed and honestly I can’t believe they still sell them. Appalling quality.

Dreadful quality, good.

Really poor quality. I wanted a nice S&P set for a birthday so after a lot of research my wife bought me these. Honestly, they’re a shocker. Hard to change the settings for how fine to grind, the salt gets stuck around the edge and as a result comes out in either huge clumps or not at all, the pepper isn’t any better. Desperately disappointed in the quality and now searching for a new set.

Functional, beautiful and quality

I really love these salt and pepper grinders - they are really functional and the aesthetic matches my kitchen decorations generally. I really like that you can adjust the fineness or coarseness and the feeling is very ergonomic in hand. I would highly recommend.

An elegant and effective addition to the kitchen.

I was initially attracted by their elegant design. They do look great and are easy to use even in smaller hands. The variable grind feature is effective and useful. The salt dispenser has shown no signs of clogging. I even have them on display in my kitchen. Highly recommended

Lovely. Look and perform well with one small niggle.

I really love the salt and pepper mills. They look beautiful. It's good not having a pile of salt and pepper under them after you used is them, why didn't somebody else think of making a set that you could use that way up? There is one downside though When you use the pepper, you seem to get lots of bits of ground pepper stuck to the outside of the mill. You can usually brush this off with your fingers but it's a bit of a nuisance - not a perfect design. But I still like them. So therefore, not quite up to a five star review!

Worked well until the grinder fell apart!

We only used this 4x before the porcelain grinding mechanism inside, fractured and fell apart - no coming back from this I'm afraid so I will be taking it back to a store as soon as I can. Very disappointing from a v well known brand.

Love these non-spill, no mess salt and pepper mills! I have been looking for this design for quite some time and had actually ordered a similar set from another vendor at nearly 3x the price, then returned them because they were flimsy and not well made. The AllModern set is light, but sturdy, easy to use, and has an adjustable grind (I like my pepper finely ground). And the stainless steel tops give them a very classy look. 10 out of 10 for me!

Salt and pepper mills don't stand the test of time in my house, so bought these to replace the latest casualty.

Grinders

Really reduces the amount of mess left on the table. Looks stylish. Feels good quality. Grinds well and easy to adjust grind size. However, the lighter grinder has already been tomato splashed and due to the rubberised finish it’s stained. These things are supposed to be used though…

Worth every penny

Such a great idea as I hated having salt and pepper all over my work tops. Well made as every product from Joseph Joseph is. I get teased by my family as they asked had I won the lottery buying these products but they are built to last and worth every penny.

Salt and pepper mills

These are stylish and easy to use. The grind size selector is easy to use and allows for a course grind which is good. Some mess while getting used to the inverted grand position but once aware to give small shake before returning to upright no spills on the counter between uses.
