Good valve, install directions are lacking

This took me a minute or two to figure out how to install it. there are little pictures stamped on the ports which give you a clue. the install directions are pictograms and not real clear. had to call tech support. Orienting the cartridge once installed was a bit of trial and error.

These parts can look similar and be confusing, make sure it's what you need before you buy. This has universal threads and fits perfectly with the Concetto trim sold separately

Don't know why this is called an American Standard, it is a German designed Grohe 29 902 which fits my Groche shower set 35 010 en1 perfectly. I don't have a lot of patience with installs so I got the Grohflex Universal Rough-In Box and it made things a lot easier. I have the hand shower and tub connections blanked so can't tell you how the full functionality works.

I'm adding a shower to my bonus room above my garage, this valve and the trim kit were ordered in the beginning of Dec. I got the valve mid Jan and still have not received the trim kit as of the first week of Feb., so I can't really review the valve. I will say the valve is very nicely machined and the threads are perfect. Make sure you check the directions for how deep to set the valve. As another reviewer said, this valve seems to just allow you to choose which direction you want the water to flow and cannot "mix"

This diverter allows for the installation of multiple shower head configurations without needed to purchase a more complex mixing valve setup; like Kohler products. The quality construction of this mixing valve is evident as soon as the box is opened. Solid brass with well thought design features; imprinted figures directly on the valve so one can see the proper location of inlet and outlet. As clients are demanding more from their master bathroom showers Grohe has become my go to product line. The ability to install valves and trims separately the options open up and do not delay early stage progress while the final decisions are made later in the project. This is the third mixing valve I have installed without issues. The instructions are well detailed picture with part numbers that can be referenced through the Grohe web-site. If you want to add the ability to have multiple shower heads operating either independently or at the same time this is the valve for that system. Just ensure that this valve is installed coming from the shower outlet of the shut off with as many as three outlets. This one was installed with a body spray, hand held shower head and a rain head; works flawlessly.

This was my first time getting a Concetto brand 3 ways pressure balance rough valve. In the past, I had used their faucets and I was really pleased with them. I used this valve in a bathroom remodeling job and I couldn't be more pleased. I wiould get it again. When doing a job, I stick with quality reasonably price products that I trust and will last a long time. I can't afford to re-do a job. Fix it right and be done.

This is not to be confused with the mixing valve and it does not replace the mixing valve. This is a diverter valve set inline after the mixing valve to feed more than one shower you may want to install.This valve will be installed over the mixing valve and be fed from the upper feed on the mixing valve into the inlet and the shower heads will be plumbed from this valve. The knob and plate can also be ordered from the Home Depot website.
