Outstanding

Unit arrived 1 day early. All parts were in box. Requires some assembly which was done by my handyman. We connected the gas tank and it worked instantly. In comparison I had 2 AEI units, almost 3 times more expensive, and impossible to get started, despite multiple service attempts. I finally trashed them and replaced them with this unit which works and is better designed. Holes on both sides make it easy to reach inside and open or shut the gas tank. Table adjusts easily to the right height.

This product, when assembled, works amazingly well. Unlike other outdoor heaters we have had, it lights quickly and effortlessly every time and puts out a roasting 48,000 BTUs.

Buyer beware

We bought this same exact heater before and it lasted about 4 years. It was great! We bought the same exact one at the end of December and it has been horrible. We had missing pieces, we had to replace the regulator already and its still not working. We have a brand new heater that doesn't work. Its very frustrating!

[Rewarded Review] Horrible Experience

This heater only worked four times, and then it had to be manually lit. After five days is that, NOTHING would get it to come on. My husband (who is a great mechanic and very talented with problems like this) worked on it for a few days, trying different things. NOTHING worked. He Googled. He'd tried so many things. He went back to the store, they said they couldn't take it back and to call the manufacturer. A technician he talked to told him a few things to try. He did EVERYTHING possible. Called the manufacturer back, they told him he would have to ship it to them. This is a big and very awkward item. I told him to forget it. Call it a good chunk of money down the drain.

Nice heater. Poor company response.

Love the heat that we get from this heater (especially if we’re in higher café chairs.) Disappointed that the latch pop rivets were broken and the latch was laying in the bottom of the box. Had to reattach. Within two weeks, the igniter stopped working. Now I use a butane lighter. Called the company, they were glad I had pop rivets to fix the latch. They seem rather laid back.

VERY PLEASED

We have purchased and used this type of heater for years for multiple church events. Previous to the Hiland we considered them all "disposable". These from TSC are amazing . They are super easy to operate , run flawlessly and much more sturdy than any of the previously used brands. Also, they look much nicer in the hammered bronze. VERY PLEASED!!

Handsome, strong and warm.

It’s nice. Went together easy and is sturdy. I’m digging the finish. Looks great and works as expected. I’ll likely get another one. We have a large front porch that we like to enjoy all year long and adds a touch of warmth.

Pretty and functional

This heater was easy to assemble and the color is very pretty. We have only used it once, but it worked great. It’s easy to move around with the wheels in the base. We are happy with this purchase and look forward to having it as the weather gets cooler!

ONLY 2 STARS- WHY?

The bottom base was bent and there was a rivet missing on the latch to secure the door. I was able to bend the bottom back, close to the shape and put a rivet in my self. Its a shame you buy something to only fix it before you can utilize it. It took a little time as the instructions weren't the best. Better not be in a hurry to utilize it because you will need some time to put it together. Since we got it as a black Friday deal we decided to fix it vs. send it back. We didn't want to have to wait for another week to receive its replacement. If you can buy it already put together is your best option, then you can look over it to make sure there are no damages or missing pieces plus you want have to endure the hassle of putting it together.

Heater should be recalled!

Doesn't start according to manufacturer instructions, always a problem starting since purchased. I keep heater under a fully covered metal gazebo with a cover on it. Cylinder base warped and now splitting at seam that adjoins the main post making this item now useless and if used very dangerous. It's a fire hazard. Buyer beware. Manufacturer will not honor their product in any manner. They don't care that it can cause a fire danger to a person, your home, or your yard.

Eye Catching Design, Heart Warming Heat

The Highland Outdoor Patio Heater is one great addition to any outdoor space you have for those cooler months. The unit was very easy to assemble and made from solid material. The craftsmanship on this piece help it stand out as a decor addition and not an eye sore. The added benefit of a drink shelf is a nice touch for conversations around the heater. This unit puts off great heat and starts with easy. I’m probably going to buy another for our added patio area off the porch.

Liking our new patio heater

One predrilled hole didn't line up, but otherwise went together well. On calmer nights, lower settings keep us toasty warm, also provides nice ambient light. Looking forward to nice nights on our patio extending the season. We'll see how it ages, will be under cover when not in season.

The outdoor patio heater is the best! I was amazed how it heated up a large areanof our deck even when it was 35 outside!! Alot of parts but fairly easy to put together. I would definitely recommend this. Great for all year!

Great Looking Heater

I put this together using the instructions book. He took me a bit. But all parts were in the box. When I was done. I noticed there was no clasp to close the door. I started looking for it. Thinking it was part of the assembly that I missed. Well I found it embedded inside the cardboard box it came in. Poorly installed at the factory. A couple of short tacked screws that fell off during shipping. I called TSC and told them if I could get some small all threaded screws and nuts from them. They had no problem with that and apologized for it coming that way. I believe it would have come off eventually. So now it is secure and looks great.

Excellent value. Good customer service.

I chose this over comparable heaters because Hiland, unlike some others not to be named here, has a reputation for good customer service. They will send missing parts and troubleshoot problems over the phone, such as how to replace a couple of rivets that got sheared off in shipping.

Love it but came dinged and has spark trouble

We LOVE the heater but it came dented in a couple places which was no surprise given the box was torn up when delivered. It took longer than I thought to assemble, maybe two or three hours. I'm sure someone else could do it quicker if he paid better attention. In 42 degree weather it brought the temp up where I was sitting to 68, which was really nice. But then, after only using it maybe three or four times, the igniter didn't work this morning. Had to light with a flame stick. Then I just went out there and it worked after the sixth or seventh click. So it's intermittent. Kinda sad, but too much trouble to return and rebuild another one. Glad it was on sale!

Loved these, but needed some minor fixing.

I have to say I was disappointed when I received these heaters. I purchased two of these on sale and was very excited to use these for a party. They came very quickly so that was great. The first heater we opened had a large dent in the base piece. Then the connection to the door for the gas tank had both rivets broken off to latch it closed. The second heaters latch was broken off completely. Thankfully my husband is a handy man and fixed the dent with a hammer, but he had to buy a rivet machine to fix both heaters. They are working perfectly now, but I would inspect these on arrival to be sure they are not missing rivets. These are very nice and I love the bronze coloring.

Great Value for Patio Heater

Wanted to purchase a patio heater to warm the area this holiday season. I looked at different stores online and Tractor Supply had this Hiland AZ unit on sale with free delivery. Ordered it and had it delivered to the house in a couple of days. The carton had no signs of wear and tear when received. The heater was packaged securely and the parts and pieces clearly labeled. It took about an hour to assemble. Installed a propane tank and gave it test lighting when the assembly was complete. It worked well and the heat radiated from it is quite impressive. The heater has two wheels to help move it around the patio. The shelf that is included is nice to set drinks, phones, etc. on it while outside. I did order a cover for it since this does not come with one.

Nice addition to the patio.

This is the first patio heater I ever owned. So I not have anything to compare it to. I will say that for the money this is a nice heater. It is well constructed and looks nice. The fuel consumption for me is impressive. I had the heater for about a week.I use it on a low to medium setting in the cool mornings sitting on the patio with a coffee. It takes the chill out of the air within a decent area. I used in the evenings a few nights maybe an hour each and my 20lb. Tank still seems pretty full still. I would and have recommend this heater.
