Great buy - love it even more a year later

I purchased the 10x14 Cinnabar Medallion Rug on sale about 14 months ago. I had been looking at all the usual midrange mall/online retailers. I knew I wanted this style, 100% wool, in good quality that would last. But the size is quite large and with two pre-teen boys I was unwilling to pay $5000+ for our high-traffic family room rug. I'm a veteran online shopper. This rug was a dead ringer for a rug I loved at one of the most popular interiors retailers). But I was hesitant to buy this one online knowing that a defective or low quality item of this size and weight was going to be challenging to exchange. But we couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. The whole family loves it, and it warmed up our family room exactly as I envisioned. It was shipped professionally and arrived well packaged and undamaged with no odor. Dimensions are exactly 10x14. We put a premium quarter-inch wool rug pad under it for comfort, aesthetics, and longevity. The colors are muted and rich (saturated but softer hues, not vibrantly bright). As with all wool rugs, you'll need to vacuum thoroughly when you first get it and you'll continue to get shedding during vacuuming for the first couple months. The day to day shedding though was minimal and short-lived. From a few feet back the rug is dusty wine-burgundy, rich "true" navy (neither bright blue nor blackish), dark seaglass grayish blue-green, oatmeal, and a tobacco-saddle brown. Zoom in though and you will see that all of the colors are actually striated, so in each color there are actually two or more shades woven through, which you clearly see as part of the pattern when you are sitting on the rug. The wool is thick (at least an inch) and extremely well woven. This is not a lightweight area rug - this rug is heavy! It's a closed loop weave so it feels tightly bumpy, not shaggy, when you run your hand over it. It is wool, not cotton or viscose, so it's wool-soft, not silky soft. That said, it's very comfortable to lay on for movie watching. It has held up extremely well to constant high traffic use and weekly deep vacuuming (including the occasional use of the vacuum beater bar which should *not* be used on this weave because it will pull the loops out and/or make the surface fuzzy). The occasional spilled cola or red wine have blotted up quickly (liquid stands on top of the surface for a few seconds if you move fast) and with only seltzer water blotting have come completely clean and remained soft with no visible marks. As a bonus, if you do a little internet sleuthing, you'll find that this rug is artisan made in India by a really interesting ethical and socially conscious company that supports local communities. Just what I wanted!

I shopped a long time before deciding to purchase. I get nervous with big purchases online. But this was just what I wanted and was such an accurate match to the description. It’s well made, thick and feels great to walk on. The colors are very warm and look like what I expected based on the photos. I am very happy it!

Love our new rug!

The rug is exactly as described online. The colors are perfect. Being able to ‘see it in your room’ was very helpful.

Good rug, shipping challenges

We are pleased with te quality of the rug. However, the shipping was problematic... the first delivery was clearly damaged before it was wrapped, the replacement delivery required a 1/4 mile drive to the transport truck to get the rug with no help in off loading. I unloaded by myself. No notice was given on needing help to unload. Good rug, reasonable replacement time, but poor shipping experience on the replacement.

Color didn’t match

Rug was beautiful but the color didn’t match the website picture so I wasted my money on an expensive sample

I would say the rug is all it was represented to be online, as beautiful and simple and looks like it has always been in this room. subtle and perfect, I can't give it a 5 star because as it's only 3 days old I don't know how well it will hold up

Very vibrant colors!

This rug has navy blue and a lighter blue that is close to a denim color. There are different hues of red as well. I added an off white chair that ties into the off white in the rug.

Colors are vivid and very close to pictures on website. Quality is much better than I expected. Very soft underfoot and a great way to warm a cold tile floor!

Attractive rug

The rug looks as expected. It is made from cotton and wool so we shall see how it wears over time. It seems to be well made. It has a low/short pile - is not fuzzy. I expect this may be preferable in the summer months.
