This jute rug is very nice. It is well made and is durable. It looks very nice in my tv room, which is the main room for my family to watch tv. It has held up nicely to my digs too.
Sweep everyday - looks awful
This rug arrived looking great; however after just one week the braided ends came apart and the jute material is all over my dinning room floor. 6 months later, the rug continues to shed all over my dinning room floor and the rug itself lost its shape. I have to sweep everyday and the rug looks awful. I’m now shopping for another rug. Waste of money.
Sheds Horribly!
While it is a beautiful rug, it sheds horribly and the loops keep popping up thru the rug. The shedding of this rug is all over our house … it sticks to socks so it gets tracked everywhere! Our white family room rug is completely ruined from all the red shedding from this rug - once it’s tracked onto another rug you cannot get it off. It also has discolored our hardwood floors where it was not in contact with the rug pad. Again beautiful, but would not recommend :(
Wooden fibers cause splinters
Updated: this rug has what appears to be mulch woven into it. Now that we've owned it for a bit, and after some vacuuming, those fibers are loosening up. I have literally gotten splinters from this rug. Really bizarre. Especially scary if you have kids or pets. Just don't buy this... Really cheaply made... you get what you pay for I guess. The sides aren't even close to straight, they're super uneven. The color is nice, but the quality is just bad.
Great quality rug for a reasonable price!
Nice soft feel underfoot. Not rough. Ends are curling up a little bit but I literally just rolled it out. I'm thinking if I give it a day or two, they will relax. I think it's a good looking rug. I went with a natural color to tone down all the color I had going on in the room. I also feel like I got a good deal on it. The 8x10 was on sale for less than $***. I'm really happy with my purchase.
Beautiful rustic rug.
I would recommend this to any of my friends. This is a very good quality rug and it did not smell at all. This was reasonably priced and the only reason why I did not get five stars is because you have to be careful with this type of rug with little sticks buried within the carpet. One almost went through my foot. But I just felt all along the rug and pulled for sticks out total and now it’s perfect. The color is what I expected. Unfortunately my cats think it’s theirs now and I have to fight them for it. This rug actually gives you a massage on the bottom of your bare feet which I love.
We are in the process of redoing our dining room. The table and chairs have arrived, still need to change out our light fixture and I’m still waiting on my cabinet... but it’s coming together. I’ve been looking for a rug for months. This is the second rug that I have chosen and I think we have a winner. I was worried that it would be too bland but it’s not. It’s actually really pretty against the wood furniture and gives me opportunity to change my decor and not worry about matching my rug. It also lightens up the dark walls. I love it. Researched jute rugs before ordering this one and it has good reviews. I would definitely recommend purchasing this rug. I ordered the off white.
The rug arrived a few days earlier than expected, which was exciting. It is a great rug, especially for the great low price. Also, it’s softer than other jute weave rugs I’ve felt. My only complaint is the color. I ordered the “off white” rug but when it arrived, I was concerned they sent me the wrong color. It was the correct color I ordered but it just appears lighter in the pictures online. In person, it’s more of a light tan color.
bought this 7/2014 (got 3 full years of use before we moved and gave it away) for my screened in porch that served as our outdoor family room that got lots of use. very rough on bare feet but we were using for outdoor purpose so that was fine. for the price I got the rustic look I was looking for in a very large rug. Loved the look and it held up well for being on a covered, screened in porch throughout 3 years in a seasons in Arkansas weather. It did fade some over the years on the areas that got the direct morning sun from the east. had a great neutral rustic/ naturally stylish look and texture for my beautiful porch that was all my friends favorite spot to hang out in. I don't think I would have wanted to use this inside because of how rough it was but it was 5 stars for what I used it for. looked great and held up well in the elements.
A New Experience
I liked the look of the rug, so I thought I would branch out and try something different. I usually stick to braided rugs or wool rugs for their durability and stain resistance. The look is good on the piece. I did not realize at the time of purchase, that I had ordered the rug with fringe....reminds me of cousin IT. The fringe is long and a bit of a nuisance. Upon sweeping my kitchen floor one day, shortly after purchasing the rug, I thought the dog was back. It looked like an animal had been shedding. Thankfully, the shedding has diminished but the rug does seem to flatten a bit with walking, as to be expected. There is dust or dirt that seems to be coming from the rug as well. When I mentioned all these things to my friend who recommended the rug to me- her response was- " if you want the look you have to commit".

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size rug for my living room?
Aim for a rug that fits all the main furniture pieces on it or at least the front legs of sofas and chairs to anchor the space.
Can I layer rugs for added texture and interest?
Absolutely, layering rugs can add depth and dimension. Pair a larger, neutral rug with a smaller, patterned rug for the best effect.
What's the best way to clean and maintain my rug?
Vacuum regularly, spot clean spills immediately, and consider professional cleaning for deep stains or at least annually for high-traffic rugs.
How does rug size impact the balance of my living room?
A rug that extends the full length of the sofa can help balance the room. A small rug can make the sofa look disproportionately large.
What should I consider when positioning rugs in relation to doors and furniture?
Ensure the rug doesn't obstruct doorways or get caught on the doors. It should also not interfere with the operation of any cabinets or cupboards that open into the room.
Are there practical tips for maintaining rugs and prolonging their appearance?
Rotate your rugs annually to even out wear and fade, and address spills or flattening promptly to maintain their look and feel. For more substantial size or shape adjustments, consider having rugs cut and edged professionally.
What are some considerations for choosing a rug in relation to the sofa?
Select a rug large enough to cover the area beneath the entire sofa, which helps in unifying the space and balancing the room's proportions.
What is the recommended rug size for a living room with a sectional sofa?
The rug should not be shorter than the length of the sofa and should be wide enough to fit under all pieces of a sectional, or at least allow for the front legs to be on the rug.
Can I use a round rug with a rectangular table?
Generally, it's best to match the shape of the rug with the table. Therefore, avoid pairing a round rug with a rectangular table and vice versa for visual harmony.
