Decent product with minor flaws

I love the look and overall quality of the shower system but the install clips were made of plastic and broke and the hose was not high quality chrome, but a chrome colored rubber hose.

Low flow is underwhelming

Bought this for a new shower, which is actually kind of spacious. The low flow seems too light as compared to practically ever other shower I have ever used, especially in this space. The higher flow one was not available at time of purchase. Any chance I could return this for a higher flow unit?

Exceeded expectations!

The hydroRail R shower system is impressive. The hand held body spray is much better than it appears in videos. The rainshower head delivers a drenching, soft, and relaxing stream. Well worth the price.

We are gathering all the items needed to remodel our master bathroom and I’m very particular about the pieces used for the handheld shower. I hate what we have now and ordered pieces that I think will work much better! I plan to add pictures later after the work is completed. We have been very pleased wîth Wayfair’s selections and prices as well as their free shipping and extensive reviews—the reviews have sometimes helped me decide between 2 similar items based on others’ experience.

The unit is nice and functions as promoted. I'm happy with unit except the flex hose is plastic and does not hang down straight due to "memory" of the coil when packaged. I purchased an after market metal stainless hose that hangs straight without coiling for $25 from THD. For the price point of this product I was shocked at the compromise Kohler made to hold down costs. I am considering other manufactures for the next units to be installed.

I had high hopes and expectations for this kit. We need a shower bar that has a lower selector knob so my wife can reach it. I understand there will be some plastic parts, that's just the way things are today. Not impressed, but it is what it is. However, upon doing the dry fit, I found the fatal flaw. It isn't designed to be installed on an exterior wall of a concrete block home. In Florida, most of the homes are made of concrete block, aka: CBS. Our shower is made of concrete board and tile and the piping and mixing valve are on the exterior wall. There's only maybe 1/2" or so of clearance between the CBS and the concrete board. The elbow for attaching the shower adapter is almost flush with the surface of the tile, though its recessed maybe 1/4". Then there's the Kohler shower adapter that is at least 2" too long for this application. So the bar can't get close enough to the wall. The lower fitting is over 1" from the wall with everything as close at it will get. I would need a much shorter adapter and at least 1" of the upper fitting's threads removed for this kit to work in our shower. Thus, while this may be great for a wooden home or an interior wall shower, it will NOT work for an exterior wall shower on a CBS home in Florida .. or anywhere else they build hurricane resistant homes.

I can't get the hand shower hose to stop leaking...

I can't get the hand shower hose to stop leaking where it connects to the bar. I've added several wraps of plumber's tape and I'm afraid to tighten it any more because I may damage something. Very frustrating, the threads look fine. Overall it looks great, except when spraying out the connection when using the shower and even more so when turned to handheld. Ideas?

I was not sure at first if we would like it. We changed from the a shower head to this. With a little complicated instruction and never typical plumbing issues we got it going. It is well built and performs solidly. Minimum plastic on this and we could not be happier. The shower kit arrived in perfect packaging with no defects and looks great. We look forward to many more years of use and enjoyment.

First off let me say this is a GREAT show system. We really like the flexibility of the unit and how easy it is to use. With that I will say the install is not for the new DYIer. It took a little bit and I had to get one tool to install it properly. I just didn't have the correct size Allen wrench. But if you have some basic knowledge of how to check for and fix minor plumbing leaks and you don't mind drilling 1/2" holes in you show then your good to go.

I'm a big fan of having a removable shower head so this is usually one of the first DIY projects after getting in a new home. This kit is nicely designed, however, it is on the lower end of the range when it comes to build quality. Kohler makes some of the best fixtures in the business so I am sure the plastic will hold up well, and, you get what you pay for in the long run.

I have fiberglass showers that are all upstairs and had to install new holes in the shower wall so I got help. I didn't want it to leak in the walls and downstairs. Highly recommended. Without this help, I believe the installation is something you have to be careful about. In fact, my expert told me that some pipes are actually soldered into place to avoid leaking. Something I can't do.

This item is as it states. It is a beautiful shower kit and I feel it was an excellent value. My hesitation is in the installation.The instructions were a bit lacking and it actually seemed like they were a bit confusing. What should have been and was an easy installation was very complicated if you went by the enclosed instructions. However once it was completed I have to say it works as stated and is just what a shower should have!

This shower head wall bar kit is very pretty and functional with a bright chrome finish. I do like the Kohler design having three different spray patters that are easy to change as well as a 60" hose which is attached to the bar when not in use. I had to drill to mount the bar and it was a simple step. i must confess that i have done these installs before so i just glanced at the instructions.The mountable shower head can swivel and adjusted easily. For use in shower-only installations.

This shower head wall bar kit is a great addition to any shower in a very durable looking and feeling finish of bright chrome. Yes there is a few parts made of plastic with chrome plating over it but for it's price range it is to be expected. And Kohler designs quality into all their products.
