Ok but still not a C8865

product worked as advertized. The timer has a min "on" time of 2 minutes and multiples thereof. I would have liked to be able to set the timer for 3 minutes but that simply isn't possible. I bought it to replace a C8865. It is the recommended replacement but its not as functional as the C8586. Otherwise the timer operates just fine.

I bought this timer to replace a 10 minute timer that I was using. I wanted to go to a 5 minute timer, but those are not available that I could find. The CT2000 is adjustable so that it can be used as a timer that cycles in 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and so on all the way out to 4 hours. It was relatively easy to install and is simple to change the setting on. I would recomend it to replace simple 5 or 10 minute timers or for any application where you may need to adjust the cycle time.

I purchased this to replace a Paragon Model JW30-00 timer that had a failed timer motor. I bought the Intermatic CT2000 instead of another Paragon because it had a sealed cover, selectable cycle times and cost less. The timer and Gast aeration pump are located in a septic tank riser. Unlike the Paragon, the Intermatic CT2000 would not operate on the shared circuit in my garage when testing the setup. It appears the Intermatic (in combo with the Emerson motor) draws a current that exceeds the 15 Amps available on the garage outlet. The intermatic did work fine on the 20 Amp/120V dedicated septic tank circuit. I'm disappointed that the Intermatic did not work on the 15A outlet while the Paragon had no problem. Or maybe the Intermatic 20A spec doesn't mean "up-to" 20 amps and really needs 20 amps min to operate.
