Comes with teflon tape and a leader hose, which is nice. Reel works well for standard hose. Collapsable ones won’t be nice and organized rolled up, but they will still work perfectly well.

couple of goods several bads

The construction is laughable. The handle will 100% break eventually. On my first roll up I could have broken it if I wasn't very careful. The connector hose that came with it leaks from the factory crimp, not the screw connection. It looks nice to sit in the yard, the gears meshed fine and rolled up the hose very neatly. Torn on keep/return. Think it can be fixed to last, but it certainly should not have to be on me to do this.

Very nice looking,pretty good quality

I've had hose keepers like this before and this one is bigger and very nice. The smart track is great, although depending on your hose (stiffness, etc.) it's not infallible. The hose connections are plastic so theres a chance you'll have some leaks. I persoanlly had no leaks with the internal connection at the hose reel, but it did leak at the exterior connection. It just seemed like I couldn't get it to tighten. However, the leak lessened and most days there are only a few drops. I certainly wouldn't just leave the water on at the spigot with this but for regular short usage cycles for watering the garden, it seems to be just fine.

NOT AS STURDY AS IT LOOKS....

I purchased 3 of these units. The functional design is great, but the durability of the material is very low considering they will be outside. My top hinge broke within 45 days. I sent Suncast warranty claims a message explaining the situation. Since I can't say the exact reason the flimsy hinges for the top Broke, they won't honor their 90 day warranty. I originally was concerned with the craftsmanship, but thought, go ahead and buy it since there is a warranty. A break in the hinge is a factory defect. But according to SUNCAST, that doesn't matter. I've already found an equivalent that is a little bit more, but uses metal in the areas that may be compromised.

Defective product and not well made

I should have listened to the one star reviews. The unit was defective and I returned it. It was leaking from the elbow where the hose attached on the inside. Not where the actual hose connects but on the elbow itself. Also leaked on the outside connection. This was right out of the box. Very poor product.

Not worth it

About the only good thing I can say about this unit is that Walmart did a great job having it delivered. The construction is thin and the connection are poor. The inlet is "female" so you need to twist the house connecting hose to hopefully get it reasonably tight.. it's plastic, it leaks. The winder mounted connection is female but the entire gooseneck and threads are...you guessed it, plastic....and once pressure builds in the hose, it leaks torrents ( older suncast model had metal connecters and I'd still be using it if I had not dropped it ). I would NOT recommend this hose reel.

Lid hinges are weak

I like everything about this besides the lid hinge. have owned two of these and both of them had the lid blow off. The hinge design is very weak. I even replaced the plastic hinge pin with a bolt, but the lid still blew off again. The lid won't stay open when you need it open; it keeps falling closed. I used tapcon masonry screws to attach the hose reel base to a paver pad that I made for the reel.

Crappy construction

I didn't buy this online but went to the store to get it. Guess I should have looked at the reviews before hand because then I would have known not to get this product. After only one summer of light use the attachment between the hose and interior cylinder broke into pieces. Why they would use plastic for that part is beyond me. It's a pain to unravel the hose from the box too. It's now going straight to the dump.

Great reel, just one small flaw.

Really like this stand-alone hose reel. Purchased the same kind for the front of my house in 2017 and it still works great after six years, so I am now purchasing a second unit to use around the back. Easy to set up, very little assembly required. I like that it winds and guides the hose without twisting it, and that it has a nice overall appearance. Two metal stakes are provided for keeping it secure, so it won't slide around as the hose is being pulled out.

Save your money for another brand!

Suncast Hideaway Hose Reel, Total garbage!!!

Bought the expensive one, a brand new model in 2021. The reel disintegrated within a few months. Supposed to hold 225 feet of 5/8" hose. had 100' of 5/8" hose in it. Co.couldn't run away from 5 year warranty fast enough. Had all the paperwork, incl product label, but not the home depot receipt. Refused to replace the part, so ordered replacement $16.42, shipping $6.95. New one broke in 3 months. No warranty on part, which is now $19.29 + $19.69 to ship. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Attractive and Easy Reeling Does The Work For You

Sturdy and we leave it out over the winter every year (after emptying the hose). We have 2 spigots and replaced our first hose holder/reeler with this style and brand over 13 years ago. It outlasted 3 others we purchased for another spigot. We never had issues with this brand and model, so we decided to purchase a second one for the other spigot. We were surprised they matched wonderfully and the design stayed similar other than improved stakes to hold it to the ground. This unit is durable, practical, easy to reel and extremely long-lasting. No maintenance and a very useful tool. I'd give this rating more stars if I could! I have heart issues and BOTH units reel with "ease". I can't say that for the other models we've used in the past.

This hose reel has some great features but unfortunately it has started leaking after only a month or so of light use. The looks are fine and it blends in nicely in our landscaping. The exterior is well made and sends like it’ll hold up well. The best feature by far is that the hose reel feed moves back and forth while winding so you end up with a perfectly wound hose after use. The action is nice and smooth and mages for extremely easy use. My only issue with this is that it has developed a significant spraying leak where the hose threads onto the housing

Functions as advertised

This hose reel says it will hold 225 feet of reqular 5/8" hose. I currently have 125 feet of hose installed on mine and I'm not convinced that the reel could handle the weight of a full 225' over time without coming apart at the seems. But as far as performance is concerned, I'm pleased so far. The hose tracks easily from side-to-side. I always walk the nozzle end of the hose back to the reel %26 leave the nozzle open when reeling it in so that it drains the hose, thus making the overall weight less, thus less wear-%26-tear on the moving parts. hopefully, that will help extend the life. I found the stakes provided for holding the reel down inadequate, so I bough a couple of 2-foot lengths of rebar which I drove into the ground on the front side of the reel to hold it in place when I pull the hose out. I'm satisfied with this purchase and recommend it.

[Rewarded Review] Convenient and Practical

This hideaway hose is a great idea, not only because you don’t have to bother drilling holes in your walls, but because it is very decorative. It looks great on my dark beige house and travertine floors. A lightweight person can actually sit on it too. Instructions say it can hold up to 225 foot hose. That’s pretty large to me. My hose is only 25 feet and fit perfectly. The inlet hose is tricky. It leaked and I had to make adjustments. Overall, easy to install the hose. It’s about 23.5 inches high and lightweight. Should last many years to come.

[Rewarded Review] Suncast Hose Hideaway

I ordered and received the Suncast “Smart Trak Hose Hideaway” hose reel for my backyard garden hose, which was always laying around, just inviting someone to trip over it. I am a little bit of a “neat nut” and I thought this product may help to de-clutter the back yard. The hose hideaway is made entirely of plastic which is my only reservation about this product regarding its longevity (it does have a 3-year warranty). Beyond that, the hose hideaway did everything that I wanted. It was easy to install. Just hook the provided connector hose to your water faucet and to the outside of the hose hideaway. Then thread your hose through the winding device and connect it to the hose reel. The only other item to install is the anchors which are included too (make sure to anchor the hose hideaway). This is a good product that I would recommend to friends and family. It serves its purpose well keeping the yard uncluttered. . Using the hand crank, you simply reel your hose in when done. I have included a few pictures with this description.
