Second machine great coffee.
This is the second Keurig coffee maker I’ve owned. The first one I used primarily with the reusable filter as I like to grind my own beans and most importantly keep the plastic pods out of the landfill. Making on average two, twelve ounce cups of coffee a day for approximately eight years, it started to fail. Even after regular cleaning and descaling the pump wouldn’t complete a full cycle and I had to run it through the same ground beans a second time using a smaller cup size to make a full twelve ounces. I figured the first Keurig machine worked well through a reasonable period of time with no problems, so I bought a newer model. I’ve been using my new Keurig for a month and because I received free coffee pods from Keurig for registering my machine, I haven’t yet used my own ground coffee in my reusable filter regularly. So far the new machine works as expected, brewing a very fine tasting cup in two minutes and twenty seconds. Yes I timed it several times, it seemed slower than the first machine I had but if you consider the wait time for the water to heat up in the older machine, my new one is actually faster. My new Keurig has a slightly larger, easy to fill reservoir, a sleeker overall design and the programmable feature that lets you dial in the strength, size and temperature of your coffee with a touch of one button is great. Overall so far I’m very satisfied with this machine and with the friendly prompt service from the Keurig company. My only expectations now are, the machine continues to work for at least the same amount of years as my first Keurig and I will find the machine works just as well with the reusable filter so my conscience isn’t always telling me to stop using the plastic pods as they are bad for the environment.
Great coffee while it worked
Have owned two of these. First never worked at all. It lit up but immediately shut down and would not turn on. Took it back to Costco and bought another. The second unit worked great and brewed very good tasting coffee. The multi-stream technology brews better tasting coffee. After about 6 months it to died. There is apparently a heat sensor that is prone to blow on these units. It can only be reset by taking the unit apart (see youtube). Many appliances have heat sensors for safety, but they reset automatically when the unit cools.
Works great until you descale it and it dies.
We've had our coffee maker for about a year & a half and successfully descaled it twice. The descale light came on again yesterday, so we descaled again. We went to make coffee the next day & it was completely dead. I did a quick internet search to find this is a very common problem, the thermostat can overheat during the descaling process, or if the water tank runs out. Then this happens, the unit dies. I found another video that showed how to disassemble the coffee maker and then put a paper clip in the center of the thermostat to reset it. That process fixed the coffee maker & it works again. Why don't they use a self-resetting thermostat? Why don't they have service access to reset? I'm betting it's so they can sell more coffee makers.
I love this Keurig! I have many different types of coffee machines, I’m basically a coffee fanatic! Many of them are a little complicated and have a lot of steps, a lot of cleaning and maintenance involved, so it’s nice to keep a Keurig on hand for a super simple cup of joe every now and then! This Keurig K-Supreme Plus Single Serve Coffee Maker is the perfect option when it comes to quick and simple! I also really like the look of this Keurig, as compared to the larger original Keurig style machines. This one is smaller l, it’s sleek, it just has a more upscale look. It does a great job!
I can’t say enough about this machine. It makes me happy every time I look at it. It’s quieter than my Duo or Classic were, and holds more water. It doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter as it’s more compact than my old machines were. There are a couple of minor cons; first, the tiny bit of spatter that it creates does show more on the grey plastic plate behind your cup so a little more wiping down is required and second, the adapter that you use to brew your own ground coffee or tea (non-pods), requires you to pop out the current basket that comes with the machine, to install the adapter. If you use only ground coffee or lose leaf tea bags, it’s no big deal. Just leave the basket out and use the adapter every time. But if you switch off between pods and fresh ground, it can get to be a bit of a pain. I circumvent that issue by using a steeping cup for my husband’s tea bags and pods for my coffee. Overall, I love this machine more than any other Keurig I’ve owned. Another reviewer videoed the carafe jiggling. If you push it down until it clicks in, it won’t jiggle. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and just love it. No problems.
So glad we upgraded!
It was so worth upgrading to a new model! We have had a keurig since they be came a thing. We got our first one 17 years ago and only replaced once. It finally broke and we had to replace so went with this one. What a difference!!! The newer system makes way better coffee. They have multiple holes and options for strength. It also doesn't need to preheat which is great! The one hole original machine made much weaker coffee and I had always assumed that some of the cups were just lacking in the amount of coffee that was in the cup. That was not the case. So glad my old one finally broke and I was forced to buy a new one!
Works but the descale is ridiculous
Works like a normal Keurig machine it does coffee. But after a while you will have the descale message displayed and you will have to descale the unit, it is ridiculous the amount of water that you have to circulate it is like they want you to wear out the unit descaling it ! I almost could understand if you use very bad water but lets be honest most city water is not that bad. There should be an option to reset the descale without doing it.
LOVED IT, UNTIL . . .
Keurig … DO NOT BUY KEURIG COFFEE MAKERS! Keurig is well aware of issues that render the coffee maker I received as a gift 7 months ago, yet they are still taking money from trusting consumers, all the well knowing it is only a matter of time before it stops working! I received as a gift for my birthday last year. In 7 months of light use, it stopped working. I descaled and cleaned it regularly. I researched on the internet and, lo and behold, there are all sorts of posts and videos of issues with Keurig coffee machines that stop working within a short period of time. So I called customer support who kept saying don’t worry, we will take care of you. Told me to brew coffee without a pod. Started to work, then stopped again. I was then put on hold within 2 minutes, he came back on and told me it cannot be fixed but not to worry, they would replace it. Really? It’s 7 months old. Still looks new! And all they did was trouble shoot onetime and know it needed replaced! Hmmm . . . Sounds like I wasn’t the first with this issue. All the need is a receipt. But I got it as a gift. I do not have a receipt. They told me all I have to do is ask whoever gave it to me for the receipt. Really? I am very uncomfortable and do not feel comfortable in asking for my brother in law for the receipt. Why? Well, If he does not have it, he and his wife will feel bad and most likely go out and buy a new one. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO! I’m not doing that! I am not going to put them in that position. Who keeps a receipt for a gift they gave to someone else, 7 months ago? I understand KEURIG’s policy is to have a receipt. But many are given as gifts. I do not appreciate being put in the position of asking my brother in law for the receipt for reasons stated above. As a consumer, who would think a new, recently released, btw, Keurig model would die so quickly? It’s ridiculous! So save your money! Keurig uses this loophole so they do not have to honor their warranty! For a machine they continue to sell even though they know very well it is defective! They 100% know this is a major issue with this model, and many of their other models as per my research. So before you buy and waste your money, research on the internet, go to YouTube and watch videos. Choose another company to buy your product from. They continue to sell a machine that they know is defective and they do not stand behind their products and do the right thing. They are taking advantage of trusting consumers, all the while knowing they are doing so, and the consumers are just collateral damage.
Terrible Machine
I bought my first Keurig K-Supreme Plus Single Serving early December 2023, it leaked and would not or could process Coffee pods made by Maxwell House so I thought it was a fluke so I returned it and got another one. Same issues with the second one. Returned it and actively looking for another manufacturer.
I returned it
This would have been my third Keurig, I was attracted by the new brew jets and the adjustable brew strength and adjustable temperature. This machine didn’t deliver even with the same pods I’m used to the coffee had a strange taste, could be because it’s new. The temperature and strength was not hotter nor darker.
ABSOLUTE JUNK
I have had to have this replaced TWICE in less than a year! I bought this unit to replace a Black Keurig that I had had for 13 years without issue. There was nothing wrong with my unit accept it was black and I wanted stainless steel. What a mistake!!.
Lasted barely a year - then fried itself during a cleaning cycle
I purchased this machine in July 2022, brand new from Target. In September 2023, I started to get a persistent message to "Add Water" even when the side carafe was full of water. I had to unplug the machine to get it to reset. A couple of weeks later, the "Descale" notification came on screen. During the final stages of the cleaning process (and I used the Keurig cleaning solution), the machine started to smell like burning plastic and fried itself. The machine stopped working after that. Given that I spent more then $200 for the machine, I am disappointed that it barely lasted 1 year. I would not recommend this machine and would not buy again. Not sure if I would buy a Keurig again, but if I did, I would revert back to a cheaper model with the non-electronic panel, since the last one I had (the Classic) lasted a good 5 years before it stopped working.
Bad manufacturing
Very disappointed with Keurig Mfg. I agree with few other people about this coffee maker. The coffee strength setting is on low put in a pod has light roast the brew strength comes out strong. Tried a few times to adjust and same results. Also the coffee has a plastic smell tried 4- 5 rinse cycles cups hot water and get the same smell. Can't use this machine must return it. Had a few Keurigs in the past this is my second return. I can't buy another one. Please Keurig put in better parts. Get a better Q C. Department. Years ago you had a better product.
[Rewarded Review] Nice maker; poor reliability
As far as brewing coffee goes, this machine works well, especially with the ability to adjust the strength of the coffee and the temperature. I find standard brews using K-cups to be a bit weak, but the ability to change the strength of the brew certainly makes a difference. Overall, this is a very well built machine, but my issue is with the poor quality pumps Keurig seems to now use across its entire line. This is a fairly expensive machine, and the pump died after only 16 months of daily use by me and my wife. It literally burned up, smoke and all. The original Keurig that we purchased around 20 years ago is probably still going, as we gave it away when we purchased a previous Keurig machine which also succumbed to a failed pump after a bit more than a year. I guess I should have stuck with the old, basic model. With two bad experiences, and noting others having a similar experience with other Keurig models, I purchased another brand for a replacement.
Keurig K-supreme plus
I purchased this specifically for the fact of making just one cup of coffee at a time, with ease. I live alone, so this works great for me. It brews quickly. There is such a wide variety of coffee flavors I think anyone can find the tastes they like. The maker came well packed and the free shipping was extremely quick. This seems to be a very well constructed coffee maker. All sides are stainless steel, and the plastic water tank is convenient with a very nice handle and also well made. Yes, the pods are a bit more expensive, but making a pot I usually ended up throwing part of it down the sink. The only negative thing would be for the people who like their coffee extremely hot and I'm saying hot, hot. This might not be the maker for you. As for me it makes it plenty hot. Not into burning my mouth. There is three adjustments for hot water as well as the strength of your coffee, and multiple cup sizes. I watched and read several reviews, for me this maker works perfectly.
Great upgrade - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
I bought this a year ago and I love it. It makes great coffee and we only have 2 coffee makers in the house so the profiles are great. Nice option going all the way down to the 4 oz. My wife and I use the refillable 90% of the time. It takes 20 more seconds, at the same time, it's much cheaper, less waste, and we have a wider range of options with coffees. I have tried a refillable in the past and with only one stream, it never worked right. Just fill up to the line.
LOVE
We purchased another Keurig from QVC about a year ago and we had to return it. Why? Because it didn't take our organic coffee pod which are compostable, meaning instead of the coffee being held by a plastic container it's held in a mesh lining. That new Keurig didn't punch all the holes it was supposed to, forcing us to return it. So we decided to take another chance by ordering this Keurig K-Supreme, liking this ones sleek lines & of course the newer features! It had the same memo in offering more holes than '1' which the one we were using only offered. And this time for some reason...success!!! This machine allowed for our organic 'mesh' coffee pods, successfully breaking thru the top with all the added holes, and we couldn't be happier!! Our other one is over 3yrs old, more likely older but works like a charm still so we are giving it away. We have taken great care of it and I think when you do that, it will last longer! (we run 'just water' thru after each or a few coffee cups of coffee daily plus every couple months clean it with white vinegar. I have passed the cleaning it thru with a 'water run' to my family who have their own Keurigs to keep that part of the machine clean and unclogged and none of our machines have died on us.)
Good Brewer But Maybe a Little Too Fancy
I killed my earlier K-Supreme by accident. But I thought I may as well step up to the Plus model. I wish I could say it is a big improvement, but it's not. The water bin is bigger which is nice, but it's a little awkward to place onto the machine as it kind of has to fit around a corner. The older one was much easier.
Replaced once, now replacement giving me trouble
I bought my first K-Supreme Plus in 10/2021, and after descaling it in 3/2022, it just died. I ran the solution through, then when running the clean water through to rinse, it got to the end of the reservoir and did not detect it was out of water. There was a slight burning smell, it shut off and never turned on again. I called support, and they agreed it was dead and sent me a new one under warranty. The new one worked fine for a while and even descaled once without issue. The 2nd time I descaled, the water level got very low on the rinse again but I had water ready and added it just before it ran out. After filling it back up, it did finish the process without issue. Now, we are starting to see issues with the stream splattering and not being a single stream flowing out. The brewed coffee is not staying within the confines of the cup unless it is a wide-top cup and some is ending up in the tray. It is also brewing much slower now. I did the descale before indicating it was needed, and it did not help and may have even made it worse. We don't have hard water and have never had issues like this with several past Keurig models. I replace the filter regularly and am now using cleaning pods and nothing seems to be helping.
$35 voucher
This $35 voucher is a sham because the Keurig web site to buy coffee has their coffee marked down 25% off and won’t let you use the full $35 voucher even though the purchase is over $50! Their 88 ct of Starbucks pods reg price is $69.96 and discounted 25% off bringing purchase to $52.47! That discount comes to $17.49 only! So when I go to check out I try to use my voucher of $35 and it won’t let me have it because the pods are already discounted off $17.49 off reg price! So this voucher means nothing but a ploy by Keurig to entice you to buy coffee maker since your going to get $35 off pods when, in fact they are only going to give you half as much discount with the 25% off at $17.49! 😡 Also the $52.47 to buy the 88 ct box comes out to little over .59 a pod. I have bought this same Starbucks coffee at Sam’s Club but the 72 ct box at $41.98 and that comes out to little over .58 a pod! So if you do the math Keurig is not giving any discount at all when you can get the pods for same or lower price at retail stores and the fact they make you think by buying their coffee makers you get a $35 discount is bull crap fraud! If they would let you buy the pods at regular price and then give you the $35 voucher that would be 50% off and their not going to do that to lose money! But that would be more fair to then use your voucher for us to get that discount! Then they wouldn’t be lying to us and give us the voucher! They have it all planned out for themselves to not be upfront with their customers! Have a good day!
