I can’t recommend it.

Received this unit mid June. Lots of issues with this unit.

Update to my previous review.

I posted a review on May 29th or so, some of my photos were not published. I am going to try to add them to this review. After 2 months the unit is worst. Is making a louder rattling noise even on low. My power bill tripled, closed to 150% more. I reported to LG the part of the app that shows the power utilization is not working. The unit also keeps showing a room temperature that is way above the actual temperature, so the unit is not efficient because is trying to match that temperature.

Only lasted 1 season

Ran this unit without problems for one summer, stored it for the winter and now it won’t get cold. Maintained as instructed. Total junk. Beyond that it takes up a ton of space and still has to be connected to a window and drain hose so it’s not exactly portable. I fully regret this purchase. Next time will be a window unit from another manufacturer

This unit is a great alternative to a window AC. It moves a lot of air and also exhausts a lot of air which means the same amount has to come into the house as well. I found this problematic as the room with a window cracked open to let air in was incredibly hot. Another issue was the fins move slowly to help fan the air around and make a rattling noise that drove me nuts until I stopped them from moving. It runs great and isn’t loud at all. The installation took less than 10 minutes but did require me to cut the plastic window part to make it fit my window opening.

New LG "feature" will ruin your sleep - Terrible

Long story short, new “feature” will have you up all night.

1 Year Update

The unit I got worked really well for 1 summer only. I just wished it would have lasted longer than a year.

Garbage

This ac died 2 weeks short of 2 years. this unit is super inefficient and ran the electricity bill way up and is way louder then many other units like it. the only redeeming quality of this unit is the heater, but for only 102 weeks of operation it is not worth it. do yourself a favor, spend your money on something else.

Sounds like a diesel truck running

While it's excellent at cooling, the noise and vibration is ridiculous for this price point. Having owned 4 other LG portable air conditioners, you would expect that with time and technology, they would become better, not worse. Avoid this, it's a 600.00 rattle trap, and after listening to it run for 1/2 an hour, it will literally drive you insane. I wish I had a way to return it, but sadly I don't.

[Rewarded Review] Great

It does suck allot of juice for being 110, had a, heavy guage wires, female connector melt; the garage i used it in had lights flickering (try to get this thing on an independent-ish breaker if you can); and it had trouble getting a 380 sq-ft appartment cool (but that mightve been just the high ceiling in the living room). It kicks really cold air though and it is high quality

Old, doesn't cool, and no option for auto

Received mine today. The box is damaged in multiple places, and even has the bottom taped up. When registering the app I noticed it has a 2022 sticker next to the model number. I set it up at 60 or 65 and outside the temperature is 77 and after a couple of hours it cooled a degree or 2 under the outside temperature. It hasn't gone under 74 degrees. Also, the schedules in the app won't let you set a temperature only on or off. Midea has way more options. The is not a option to set up the fan to auto or off, only low or high. I would like to return the item, but the closest Home Depot is over an hour. The main reason I bought it only, and now I still have to spend over 2 or 3 hours driving and taking care of the return. Try to upload all the photos but this HD app only let's me upload 1.

Fan Noise

Bought this unit for AC and heat functions. HD delivery and overall service was fantastic. Shortly after installing, fan started to make a loud uneven 'whooshing' noise, similar to sticking your head out of a speeding car window. After researching, I found it is probably caused by poor fan bearings and would be too much trouble and expense to fix. I just packed back up and returned to store for refund (not so easy with multiple stairways in house). Couldn't judge performance otherwise.

[Rewarded Review] Quiet but broke after 2 seasons

It worked well for 2 summers, but then it stopped cooling. The warranty only lasts 1 year, so I decided to open it up and see if I could see anything wrong. Looks like the radiator rusted at one of the seams and the refrigerant leaked out. It was great while it worked, and pretty quiet, but for this price I would expect to be able to use it for more than 2 seasons.

Very disappointed

Unit freezes up while heating. Doesn’t remove any moisture in dry mode. Doesn’t cool at all. Fan works fine. Wifi doesn’t connect. All three drains have hoses connected and drain outside.

This was purchased as a backup AC unit in the event of power outages, and planned to be used with a generator. This unit's cooling ability is powerful and the airflow is great, it cooled the bedroom quickly during a test run. This LG model is also 20+ pounds lighter than the unit (from another manufacturer) we replaced. Another great LG product. I would purchase again.

Heat not useable

The air worked pretty well but froze a little, when running the heat it freezes up completely. After chats finally had a repairman come out, he had to order the part. After repair it froze up again, but he said couldn't find anything wrong. The water is not pushing out the drain hose like it is supposed to however when we opened the bottom plug (no hose or adapter) the water just pours out. We have not heard back from him or LG. This is an expensive air/heat unit to not work after 90 days.

Never again

Ordered on line in April. Worked perfect thru the summer months. Couple months into winter and it starts to made loud noises and does not blow. Contacted LG about repair.. it is still within the 1yr warranty.. and what a run around from them. Have contacted them twice on line because no one EVER picks up the phone.. and then I get a text to try this and try that and it still not working, so I had to put in ANOTHER request for repair. At this point just give me back my 600 bucks and I'll buy something that's actually good!!

Died when the warranty expired. Almost to the day.

Used this AC for August of 2022, stored it for the winter and fired it up for this summer. About a week after the 1 year mark, and consequent warranty expiration, it just stops working. Can't find reference to the "EA" error code anywhere, and LG tells me that its a software problem that I will have to pay to have fixed. Almost $600 got me 1 summer worth of use. Not happy at all.

Dies after a year

Bought 2 of these in 2022, used them for the summer and stored them without issues. One of them was dead coming out of storage (compressor ran but would not blow cold). After a month, I was able to get that one replaced under warranty. The second one hasn't been used much at all this summer and has been installed but unused for about a month. Queue a week of 90 degree heat and it no longer works (same issue). Very disappointed with these ACs and the short warranty. Will not buy another LG AC.

Only Good for Mild Climates

This unit works fine if your room never gets below 50° or above 75°. I installed it in an insulated shop that is 14x25 with a 7 foot ceiling, so I'm only trying to cover 350 Sq. Ft, which is well within the recommended 500 Sq. Ft. This will swing the temperature 10° +/- at most in either heat or cool mode as long as you're in that small window. If you're under 50° or over 75°. it will barely maintain the status quo. Do NOT purchase as a standalone unit no matter the room size. You'll regret it.

Works very well!!

Reading reviews are tough! I read them myself before making this purchase and they seemed to be all over the place. Decided to purchase anyway. I have 2 of these units inside of a somewhat finished room(s) in a 40x56 pole barn. The barn is insulated but not that well. Inside of the barn i have a sectioned off a 16x40 room that contains a full bath, common area and kitchen. When it was 90 in the shop area of the barn it stayed a constant 70 in the finished area. Ceiling in the finished area has only drop ceiling and no insulation. Walls are mostly insulated and drywall. Running only 1 unit kept it at 70 most of the day but towards the end of the day the temp would creep up. I would say this is a good buy. If it can keep up with these 100 heat indexes in Kentucky with humidity in a barn then it would be awesome in a house
