Huge fan with great feeling motor and nice solid fan blades

This is a huge fan. 60 inches to be exact! It can be used indoors or outdoors. The blades are made of plastic and have a twist and contour. The motor has a solid feel. I've worked with motors for many, many years. This one has a good feel to it. The down rod and canopy are a matching color and style.

Large 60 inch Outdoor Fan with Plastic Blades

I received a 60” fan that’s rated as both an indoor/outdoor ceiling fan with 6 speeds and a reverse rotation. It’s a Generation Lighting Edge Coastal fan; it’s finish is midnight black with a handheld remote. The fan has a 3-blade wet location fan with energy efficient DC motor. It has a down rod that is 6 inch long, there is some confusion; a drawing on HD.com shows it measures 12 inch down from the ceiling and 52 diameter and that is wrong. It’s actually 60 inches across. So I disregarded the drawing on homedepot.com. I’m replacing a 52 inch current fan on the front porch and upgrading it to 60 with higher CFM. The benefit of a front porch fan it decreases flying insects from entering the home. The down draft causes the bugs from flying in the direction they want to go, so they move away from the down draft caused by any fan. The larger the fan and the larger down draft the less bugs fly inside when your walking into the house thru the front door. There is no labeling on any of the bags of screws there are 3 bags with 6 screws in each bags with no labeling or reference in the instructions to which screws go where. But they are different sizes with different screw head designs. With a little matching; that one fits here due to screw size and different thread count it is easy to figure out where they go, but with labeling on the bag and better details on the instruction paperwork it would speed up the install if included in the manufacturers instruction. There is also a 2 gold anodized screws that are for mounting bracket to electrical box. The overall packaging will ensure your new fan will arrive with no damage to the paint due to good protection and bags to keep all loose items together during shipment.

Really cool fan 😜

This is a really nice fan that will make a huge difference this coming summer. We have an existing fan on the other end of the screen porch that just didn't provide enough air. The fan blades are a rigid plastic and will hold up great in the damp air. The fan seals up nice and came with everything needed to install it. Tit comes with a remote and a wall mounted remote holder with hardware to mout it to the wall. I haven't downloaded the app yet but believe it can be controlled via wifi.

Great Product

This is an incredible fan. The quality of materials and the design are top notch, and it shows as you assembly the product. You can tell that Generation Lightings is proud of this product. Can be used indoor or outside, the design will work for either. The instructions are clear but, this is not for the beginner to install. It does take some electrical knowledge to install this product but, when it is finished it is well worth it. You can use the remote that comes with the product, the app, or use voice commands to turn on the unit.

Sleek and very pretty

This is a very cool looking ceiling fan and personally I feel it could go in just about any sort of decor. The fan blades looks real modern. I like how there isn’t a huge motor housing. I like it comes with a remote to operate it and is super quiet. The materials are flawless and a perfect color. I know I will enjoy this one from Generation lighting.

Awesome!

This fan is so amazingly beautiful and hearty. I absolutely love the color of the black and iridescent metal base that is quite substantial. This fan base and motor is made to support the 60 inch span. I really like that I can either use the remote, but more importantly connect it to our WiFi. This fan will take both of us as we are not pros and it’s pretty heavy.

Great Fan

Excellent ceiling fan. The blades are long and a plastic type. Attaching the blades requires screwing them on the motor on the top side of the motor and the bottom side which adds durability. The motor runs forward and can be reversed on the remote. Speaking of the remote, there are numerous options to operate the fan. The fan is also smart and can be hooked to your Wifi for more options. Installation takes a little longer than other fans I have installed bbut the directiond are good and helpful. The fan is super quiet and moves a lot of air. Overall the fan is super stylish and a great addition wherever you install it. If you are on the fence of wheather to buy it or not, BUY IT!

First things first. I love that the packaging is all cardboard and recyclable. I absolutely hate Styrofoam as it always gets everywhere. The fan itself is excellent and installation was a breeze. The fan looks great and is built well. I don't have any complaints and would buy It again without hesitation. Definitely would recommend it to friends and family.

Generation 60 inch remote wet rated ceiling fan

This is a very uniquely built ceiling fan. Perfect for porches, patios and decks or even an outdoor showering area. It was built with a wet rating which is perfect for these uses. The three blades are built with material to negotiate the dampness. The moisture will not deteriorate these blades like normal ceiling fan blades. There are 6 speeds and the fan can be reversed by remote control. Then, to add benefits, this fan can be operated by remote or by voice activation with the appropriate app on your phone. I would caution to make sure you switch the electrical service panel off. It would also be wise to have a helper.

Great Indoor/Outdoor Fan

Needed one more fan on the front porch of the new house. Decided on this 60" fan as it looks great, moves a lot of air and was simple to install with the included hardware and great installation instructions. Assembly was easy, especially for a fan this big. It has a great matt black finish and everything appears to be made from quality materials. Great value for an indoor/outdoor fan.

Perfect for Outdoors

I received this Generation Lighting Collins Coastal 60 in. Indoor/Outdoor Midnight Black Smart Ceiling Fan with Remote Control and Reversible Motor. I haven’t had a chance to put it up yet, because where it needs to go the ceilings too high however, just by looking at this, it’s going to work fabulous outside in the Florida hot, humid weather. The blades are not made of wood, so I can’t see them warping at all. They’re made of a heavy molded plastic of some kind and also since they’re not painted wood, you don’t have to worry about the color fading or chipping. This did not come with a light kit, but where it’s going, I didn’t need one. I like that it’s also 60 inches so it definitely will move the outside air allot better as well.. I can’t wait to use it.

This ceiling fan is suitable for any outdoor or indoor use, and will withstand outdoor locations with moisture. It is made of stainless steel and will not rust. The blades are nicely design and contured like propeller blades. Although it is made of steel it is very light in weight. The fan is very quiet because of its DC motor. This fan comes with a smart remote controller for six speed operation that also control reverse operation. The midnight black color with no other color adds to its beauty hanging from the ceiling operating quietly.

What A Fan!

Another great Monte Carlo ceiling fan that is a great quality ceiling fan! This is a well manufactured ceiling fan. I would have to put it next to the quality fans on the market. Not only quality built but also great looking and a modern design. The fan and is easily installed by the novice do it your self-er. Moves a volume of air (with only three bales compared to five blades and the unique 60" diameter blades) that is very comfortable especially where I live in the South where temperatures are humid and hot due to the air being thicker. Another attribute of this fan it comes with a safety cable line to be installed in ceiling area next to the octagon junction box. This cable would insure as a safety device in the event of failure of the hanger bracket which is a secondary backup to the screws in the octagon box. This model series doesn't come with a light but is classified as a fan only. Included is the 4-speed wall controller (high, medium, low and off). An easily instruction manual which is clearly understood as the steps involved in the installation. What makes this ceiling fan stand out from the rest, is the "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY". This Collins 3 blade fan is amazing! It’s awesome for my living room space. I love that it’s so big and creates a really good about of wind. I love that it is smart and I can control it from my phone without worrying about any switches.

Beautiful

Wow! I've never had a fan this amazing and beautiful before. The installation was super easy, basically anyone with a brain can do it. It works so good and the app is super easy to use as well. I love how it hugs the ceiling so my husband doesn't hit his head. And the amount of air it generates and moves around is great.

Pretty!

I love the way this ceiling fan looks, it is just so pretty! A huge plus is also that is energy efficient. My husband and I had no issues installing it, the instructions were great and it went smoothly. It has been working perfectly so far!

This generation lighting/monte Carlo-collins 60 smart fan in brushed nickel is absolutely beautiful. It’s sleek and very functional. It can go with everything from modern to rustic decor. The smart features are amazing as well. I absolutely love it.
