Cool design... poor execution
I really hate to disparage a product, but in this case, I feel like I have a responsibility to do so. I really liked the design of this lamp, but I was very disappointed when it arrived. First, the lamp itself is plastic, not aluminum. And worse, the lamp that I received appeared to be no better than a sample or prototype. The diffuser was damaged in 2 places... almost looked like something had melted onto it. The vinyl coating on one of the wires had yellowed and even had an extra piece hanging off of it. The lamp was dented... or had not been formed properly in one place. Overall, it was just a poor execution of a good idea. I returned it to Y-Lighting and they immediately refunded the purchase, so good customer service there. I *really* wanted to like this lamp, but for the price paid, it's just not worth it.
