I am a 51 year old woman and I feel like I can do most simple DIY projects with a few clicks on YouTube. Our 5 year old Moen shower faucet was not catching and it didn't allow us to turn the water to hot. Unfortunately the original parts did not last as long as I thought they would have, but this was a relatively inexpensive part. This product was quite simple to install and saved me about $250 over calling a plumber!! Now the knob is working properly again and it is very easy to turn.

We're so glad we found this part on Home Essentials Direct. These plastic adaptors are known to crack over time if he user cranks the shower handle too hard. Our shower was out of commission for only two days - the length of time it took for the part to arrive. The adaptor did come with two screws and an allen wrench. This was awesome! One screw (philips) to hold the adaptor to the valve and the other (hex head) to secure the handle to the adaptor. We bought one to fix the broken part and one spare.

Direct replacement for the OEM part. Shower wouldn't turn off so i had to remove the handle to find out that there was a crack in my original piece. Found this on Home Essentials Direct that matched exactly what i needed. Has held up great so far. Will be keeping this in the "Save for later" in case it breaks again (it's plastic, i'm sure it'll give sooner or later).

Bought this to replace the same shower handle adapter part that had cracked. Unfortunately these plastic shower handle parts wear out over time and it's fairly common to have to replace them. This part was a perfect match to the part supplied directly from the Moen website, but for a fraction of the cost. My wife and I are both thankful that I am once again showering.

The cartridge in my shower valve lasted 14 yrs. Unfortunately, after that long, it was nearly impossible to remove the handle as the set screw was corroded and would not budge. Had to be drilled out. New cartridge and handle now in place, ready for the next 14 yrs. This kit will be used for preventive maintenance. I plan to replace the adapter and screws before they corrode this time. If you start to feel some play in the handle, you know it's time for a new adapter. Better to spend $5 and 5 minutes every few years, rather than have a major 5 hour labor job in the future.
