Best decision made

I was quoted $6,000 and $7,000 perspectly for a 24K mini split which included insalation and for the electrcian. So I decide to do it my self. cost 1,900 for mini split and the cover for the outside cables. $60 from amazon a stand for the mini split, $450 for an electrician and 80 to pour a concrete slap myself total cost $2,430 that a saving of $3,570- $4,570. if you can drill a hole through the wall, able to tighten a screw and hang a bracket on the wall, you got all the skills you need. I have to say the instruction manual sucks.. watch a few videos on line on how to insatll and you willl be fine. super easy to install

Garage upgrade, replaced a cheaper mini split, great choice, simple straight forward installation, runs very quiet both inside and outside, cools excellent.

I purchased this mini-split to cool my shop, which is 1,000sqft. The unit is rated for 1,050sqft. My shop has R13 in the walls, R22 in the ceiling, house-wrapped exterior walls with smart siding, insulated doors, energy-efficient windows, and 9-foot ceilings. The coolest temperature I saw all summer was 86°F, and the AC never stopped running. Our electric bill more than doubled for a couple of months during the summer. I feel like the square footage rating from Mr. Cool is a complete scam.

Good for DIY, but take your time and read ahead

The Mr. Cool 24,000 BTU is a good until for my shop and works great. However, the install was a bit hassled because the instructions are not simple and get very confusing. Read them all before you start, then read them again as you go, about 2 steps ahead. Think about future steps before you complete every step (the hole placement is a biggie). I had some problems and things I had to go back and "fix" after I completed steps, so it's not perfect, but for me it's in a shop and I am happy with it. Go slow, have a second person help, and you will be fine putting this in.

Well worth it!!

I had a small evaporative cooler in this shop but it has never cooled very good so this summer I decided to purchase a Mr. Cool mini split unit since I didn't want a window unit. The old cooler made a lot of noise and the Mr. Cool is so quiet and cools great. I installed the unit myself although you may need a friend at times because the outdoor unit can be heavy.I mounted the outdoor unit on the wall,fastened to some of the structural beams inside. Overall the unit is not that hard to install depending on your structure and how much of a DIY'er you are.Read the instruction manual and refer back often.It is not complicated but you want to do it right the first time.You will probably need an electrician if you have codes to follow and electricity can be dangerous. I followed the sq. footage chart on this website and ordered the recommended unit. These units were made to be installed by a homeowner or handyman and can save you a lot of money versus a professional HVAC technician. This month (August) should really be a good test since the temps have been over 100 degrees for the last 10 days. My son has two Mr. Cool units and is happy with them.There are less costly mini splits available from companies never heard of before , some are pre-charged and some are not, so buyer beware. Not having to find a HVAC company that would charge the unit with freon was a huge plus for me and I wanted a name brand with a warranty to back it up.If you have a professional install the unit you get a longer term on the warranty. I am satisfied with the Mr. Cool and with Premium Home Source.The shipping was great,the unit was packed really well and wrapped in plastic with no damage. I didn't know anything about Premium Home Source before but they stood by their word and delivered on time with a good freight company.

Sleeping Soundly

The Mr Cool unit does exactly what I need. I’m a very hot sleeper, ie, wet sheets, wet pajamas, wet hair. I can finally get my bedroom that is upstairs and gets direct sunlight COOL. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Mr Cool.

Keeps turning on on it’s own!

The only word of advice I can give is you have to be EXTREMELY careful when bending the copper pipe definitely can’t make too tight of a coil or it will crack other than that we love it! It was fairly easy to install and instructions are pretty easy to follow, I will say tiring electrical into your home panel is not explained that well definitely need some basic knowledge of electrical wiring if not well worth getting electrician to do final connections

Cools great super quiet

Bought and installed in my sunroom. Its so quiet when running I can now hear my neighbor’s radio in his garage when the unit is on. My family loves it. Replaced two window units with Mr. Cool and the sunroom is now the coolest room in the house. I would have given 5 stars but the wifi has never worked, and the blue tooth has to be reconnected to thermostat almost everytime you turn on the wall mounted thermostat. Also the wall mounted thermostat eats AA batteries up, even lithium. We just use the remote to control the unit. The blue tooth, wifi, and wall mounted thermostat are nice options but in my case don’t work.

Works great, install was really smooth, with no issues. As long as you follow the directions in the instruction manual and have some basic knowledge of electrical and are handy when it comes to building you should be fine. Took me about 10 hours to install over a weekend. Would have taken less time for a regular sided house we have brick exterior walls which took way longer to drill the large hole thru.

This product was very easy to install. No professional service was needed. It works great very quiet when running.
