Dark Sky Wall Lights; minimzing light pollution

I have used the Dark Sky Wall Lights for nearly 30 years. I am a strong believer that all night lights point downward to minimize light pollution and provide a bright light to see where your feet are going and what they are stepping on. I was a bit surprised at their light weight; they look much heavier than they are. i had to throw one whole unit away when it's light failed; that era of lighting was sold as a single unit and it wasn't possible to change the bulb. I like the new ones better as they have removable LED bulbs that can be changed when they burn out. The bulb is slightly longer and thinner. Make sure the buyer finds the proper size so the light DOES NOT hang below the bottom of the unit.

Stylish and perfect

Love everything about it. Very stylish. I have 4 of them. They light the door areas around our house well enough without being glaring. We love our stars at night.

Consider Different Mounting Conditions

We really like these lights. However, you should consider the different mounting conditions that a buyer may encounter.. The junction box was behind a lot of stucco, and the provided hardware was far too short to connect the mounting bracket to the box. Fortunately I had longer screws, but not everyone will. Doesn’t cost that much to include some longer screws. But the lights are really nice.

Simple, functional & attractive

Love that these lights are “dark sky” lights! We use 15 or 25 watt bulbs(incandescent), which last a long time when not on a timer. And they can be dimmed if you want more watts.

Disappointed

The Lowes.com description is misleading. Was expecting an LED light with an obvious bronze look. It is made of thin aluminum. Way overpriced in my opinion.

I am building a new house and these lights are going to fit perfectly with my house plans. The perfect size for the space I have available and the quality is better than the box store.

Quality Fixture

I ordered several of these fixtures to be the whole house wall sconces and I certainly am not disappointed. Make sure you use a nice looking bulb.

Dark skies certified and look great

We love the dark skies certification. The lights look great and really light up our deck and front porch.

Lightweight and flimsy

This is a simple light, completely made from thin metal. The finish is blah. This would get a one star rating except for the fact that it probably works. Overall low quality.

Sconces are decently well made, rather thin Aluminum. The 8" wide sconces are a bit too short to hold an A15 bulb without it sticking out the bottom, which could be a consideration for those with local ordinances requiring dark sky outdoor lights.

Beautiful light fixture

We couldn't be happier with these new outdoor lights. They are even prettier in person. The size is great for our needs and they look great with our siding. I would definitely recommend these to a friend. So happy I found them!

It's just the right look for our home. We were looking specifically for a dark skies compliant light fixture for our deck, and this one fits the bill. Our only complain is that the shade is just a tad shallow for a standard lightbulb, leaving the bottom of the bulb exposed, making for a bit of glare. But overall, it looks great and does the job as intended.
