I love my ice cream freezer. It is so much like the one we had when I was a child. I made banana ice cream and it worked so perfectly. It is even made well. It was ordered and I got it so quickly. I will make more ice cream over the holidays. I am looking at recipes to try. Love it. It was fairly priced it will last for years. Have no regrets about buying it. I love Wayfair.
Awful Ice Cream Maker.
Awful ice cream maker, worst one I’ve ever used… and I’ve used several others. It made two successful batches in about an hour and a half, then no longer worked for any other batches (Same recipes, ice and salt). My other batches would never turn into ice cream, they’d just stay the same milkshake texture. This machine has a horrible churning mechanism. The interior doesn’t churn the mixture.
Easy to use for yummy ice cream!
This was really easy to use. The motor is super quiet and works very well. The onle issue I had was trying to get the motor portion locked down into place. It just takes a little pressure, and it was great. Cleans up very easy. Will definitely recommend. Not expensive but a great little product!
Used a recipe from the enclosed recipe book. The machine churned for an hour and a half. The motor never stopped. We turned it off and packed it as directed for 4 hours. Opened the canister up and the ice cream was still liquid. We did this twice with the same results. We will try our old stand by recipe and if it doesn’t work I am taking it back
DO NOT Waste your money
This is a joke. It doesn't have a fill line like they used to. There's no on and off button. You have to plug in and pull out. So I pray I don't get electrocuted. Instead of turning off like it used to when it's done, you now have to set a timer for 30 minutes and hope it's done. I have purchased many ice cream makers over the year and have even used them since i was little and new isn't always better. I will never go with this brand ever again. The machine is starting to smell like something is burning and I pray it doesn't catch fire. Today my daughter is having her graduation party and so far this has been super embarrassing and frustrating.
Love this Ice Cream Maker!
Love this Vintage Style Ice Cream Maker!! All of the great flavor or homemade ice cream without the mess! I remember ice cream makers leaking all over the floor surrounded by towels on the porch as a child. This one set up super easy, performed great and made perfect ice cream without any mess! I used both a homemade recipe from my grandmother and the nostalgia packets sold at Walmart and they both turned out great! Highly recommend!!!
Excellent ice cream machine, your kids will love!
Don't hesitate to buy this. I have made some of the most delicious homemade ice creams that my daughter and I both say is better than store bought. From triple chocolate (melted chocolate, coco power, chocolate chips) to authentic old fashioned vanilla complete with authentic vanilla beans scraped from vanilla pods, to the best creamy peach ice cream made with homegrown peaches that we put in a blender to "pulse" them into sunflower seed size pieces. Make sure to blend your fruit to tiny pieces (1/8" or so) to insure maximum release of flavor, also if you don't you'll be stuck chewing on ice cold frozen fruit. The machine is excellent, so I'm just going to leave a couple of pointers. For salt on the ice, just use driveway rock salt. That's all I've ever used. Much cheaper than buying grocery store salt, does the same thing--lowers the freezing point of water. Once all ingredients are in, plug it in and let it churn the cream until the motor stops, then it's done and unplug. Leave it in the ice bucket to chill while serving. Heck, I even had my girlfriend take the whole ice bucket and drive 20 minutes away (hour total) so she could share with her dad one night. Heavy cream, and heavy "whipping" cream are virtually the same and either will work just fine. Heavy cream does have a slightly higher fat content, high 30's % vs mid 30's %, so it will taste better and is my first choice. You can also substitute half and half in lieu of milk, for even further richness. Almost all homemade recipes need vanilla extract added, yes that especially includes world famous triple chocolate lol.

Absolutely one of the best ice cream makers I have ever purchased. The details on the bucket reminds me of when I was a little girl watching my older brothers turning the pail. The innersteel container holds 5 quarts of ice cream mixture. The instructions are easy to follow. What I love the most about this product is that its electric and it will turn itself off once the mixture forms into smooth firm ice cream.. I'll be making ice cream every Sunday for my grands like my grandma did with my siblings and I. It works great, had firm ice cream in less than 30 mins.
Love Love Love
This machine to absolutely gorgeous in person. The quality is so nice. The wood material provides a nice insulation for fast freezing. I also forgot how much I like the round shape as opposed to the oblong shape. It makes for more even freezing. The handle provides a nice way to transport. I hope this brand and style stays around because I will want to replace it with the same thing if ever I need another one.
[Rewarded Review] Electric ice cream maker
I didn't realize what fun I was missing out on until I tried the Nostalgia 4 Qt. Electric Ice Cream Maker. This ice cream maker has made the creamiest ice cream that I ever have had. Has a quick recipe book to make it that much easier to make delicious, creamy home made ice cream. We started out just making basic vanilla, after accumulating all the ingredients during this shelter at home order, some of the ingredients were hard to come by, but we managed to eventually find them all. Just simple ingredients, but, well, you as a shopper know how hard that it can be to find them at this time. Some ice cream salt or kosher salt, some ice, add ingredients, and the Nostalgia electric ice cream maker makes all your ingredients into some great ice cream. We had fun adding different toppings to our vanilla ice cream. Fun and enjoyable. Going to try chocolate ice cream next. This product delivers the best ice cream. You can try different candies, different toppings, make this a fun thing for the whole family.
[Rewarded Review] Nice but big
My family loves ice cream. That is why we were so excited when we received this Nostalgia ice cream machine. It makes up to 4 quarts of ice cream which is more than enough for our small family. I love the way it looks - the outside bucket is plastic but it is made to resemble wood structure. One thing I can say for sure - we didn’t expect it to be that big. Be prepared for loosing lots of space in your kitchen to store this machine. The machine is relatively quiet for a machine this size. It takes about 30 minutes for the ice cream to reach the frozen consistency - more or less time is required based on the type of ice cream and the desired consistency. The machine has a clear lid so you can watch the process without interfering with it, and also you can use it for storing ice cream in the freezer. It is also relatively easy to clean the machine. The only downfall besides it’s size is that it requires larger amount of ingredients. Overall I think it is pretty cool machine for infrequent use or entertaining guests, if only you have space in the kitchen to store it.
[Rewarded Review] cute design
I received the Nostalgia Electric ice cream maker. This product is very neat looking because it is wooden like an old style ice cream maker, yet this thing is electric! The outside of this unit is a faux wood. So no more turning by hand. Plug it in and it will turn for you. This thing is a pretty good size and will actually make 4 quarts of ice-cream at one time. It can also make ice cream, frozen yogurt, or gelato depending on your recipe. I like that the canister is metal which I feel is easier to clean. You add your ice and salt into the outside of the canister to make it just like the traditional maker. The paddles inside are also plastic and I can easily wash it also. I like that it has an included lid for the canister to store leftover ice-cream! It is little large but if I move stuff around I can fit it into my freezer. It is the normal sound when making ice cream and turning., so it isnt quiet. So when turning I move to my garage so the sound doesn't bother me. All around this makes a great product and I like switching up recipes with fruit or candy pieces. Cute unit.
[Rewarded Review] Homemade...
There is nothing like the taste of homemade ice cream. It is so amazing that I can make this at home. I had to buy rock salt and the ingredients, but they are my ingredients. I kept the pail in my freezer overnight and I think that helped with my finished product. The sky is the limit on what you can make from frozen yogurt, gelato, or just ice cream. You add what you want too. Makes 4 quarts of fresh ice cream. I like my ice cream soft so I take some right after it’s done and wow it’s so good the rest goes away. Such a great texture and taste. I have been experimenting, but so far the chocolate has been the best and I don’t like chocolate lol. Planning on using some strawberries and even thinking of pistachios for some future flavors. The best thing about this is you are the owner of this ice cream shop and the flavors are up to you. Very easy clean out and simple steps to make. So no one will fight you can make one flavor and then the next. I had an apple pie leftover and added it to my vanilla mix and it was just heavenly. The kids just love making their own ice cream.
[Rewarded Review] Just like I remember!
I absolutely love this ice cream maker! When I was a child, we would make homemade ice cream every summer with my cousins. I have never done it with my own children. So, we were excited to get to try the Nostalgia ice cream maker. Let me say, it will not disappoint. It is really a great way to spend family time together away from technology. We took it out on the porch, let the kids help put the ingredients together, and watch and wait. My kids were so engaged in every minute. It does take some time. But, my kids would play and then come check on it. Play and check. Play and check for hours. It was worth the wait, for sure. The maker comes with ten ice cream recipes - easy chocolate, easy vanilla, rich and creamy chocolate, old fashioned vanilla, cookie dough, Rocky road, peanut butter chocolate chip, coffee, berry sorbet, and pineapple sorbet. I was especially thrilled to get to make the sorbet! I didn't even know it was an option. The recipe was great and the sorbet was amazingly smooth and creamy. Be sure to precisely follow the directions and you will have the best ice cream (or sorbet) and make great memories doing it.
[Rewarded Review] Neat!
I received the Nostalgia Ice Cream Maker and I was excited to try it out with my kids. The ice cream maker and the whole process of making ice cream as a family looked like it would be a fun and easy project for us. I have to say that the initial part of getting the ice cream maker set up was a little daunting. To make a batch of ice cream involves a lot more ingredients than I thought. Television cooking shows make it look so easy. It also requires some extra ingredients separate from the ingredients that you would use for specific recipes. They are not extra per se (salt and ice), but for some reason I didn’t think of them. The overall making of the ice cream was fun for my girls, not so much for me. I am not much of a cook or baker. The ice cream maker includes recipes you can use. The chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream we tried turned out pretty good. It was actual ice cream and not a liquid version of ice cream and it tasted pretty good. It’s a good project for kids, but not one I will be doing very often.
[Rewarded Review] Make it your way
I love this Nostalgia 4 Qt. Electric Ice Cream Maker because I can now make ice cream my way or my family's way. I can make low calorie ice cream by using a low calorie sweetener instead of high calorie cane sugar. I also can use almond milk or coconut milk to make a vegan ice cream. I just made a vegan maple walnut ice cream using coconut milk, vanilla, maple syrup and crushed walnuts. It was delicious. It was soft and creamy. But the leftovers froze firmer after a little while in the freezer. I plan to make frozen yogurt next. The large capacity 4 quart canister means that there is plenty of ice cream for the whole family with just one batch. It's so easy to use. Simply add your ingredients into the aluminum canister, place in the middle of the bucket, layer with ice and salt and allow the electric motor do the rest. And clean up is just as easy. I love the nostalgic look of the wooden bucket. It reminds me of my childhood. But the good part is that the crank is gone and the electric motor does all the work. We'll be using this Nostagia 4 Qt Electric Ice Cream Maker all summer long. It will be a big hit at our family cookouts.
[Rewarded Review] Makes delicious ice cream!
I have been enjoying this ice cream maker very much! It's very easy to use and is pretty fast. It only takes about 35 minutes to make yummy homemade ice cream. And you just simply add all your ingredients into the aluminum canister. Then fill the outer layer with ice and salt. It's really that easy. The machine does all the rest and it doesn't require any intensive stirring or manual effort. I love that it not only allows you to make ice cream. But you can also make frozen yogurt and gelato in it as well. You can also add candy pieces, cookie dough, crushed up cookies, fruit or whatever else you want. So you can really customize your homemade ice cream. So far we have made good old fashioned vanilla ice cream, strawberry and cookies n' crème ice cream in it. All of which turned out great and was very delicious. We are planning on making chocolate ice cream tonight and I'm sure it's going to be delicious as well. This is a really nice ice cream maker and is very reminiscent of the old fashion ice cream makers of the past. It really reminds me of the old fashioned hand crank ice cream maker that my grandparents use to have. So I really love the nostalgia of that. The only slight complaint that I have about this, is the noise it makes. It can be pretty loud if your trying to focus on something or trying to watch tv. But honestly it's not that bad and not nearly as loud as some other ice cream makers that I have had before. So it wasn't a deal breaker for me. But overall it's a great machine and makes delicious ice cream. It really makes me never want to buy store bought ice cream ever again. And I don't think my kids will either. I don't think anything will ever beat the taste of homemade ice cream. I would highly recommend this ice cream maker to anyone and everyone. If you love ice cream then you need this ice cream maker!
[Rewarded Review] Homemade, Creamy Goodness...
I received my Nostalgia Ice Cream Maker from the Spark Reviewer Program. This is a 4 quart, real wood bucket, ice cream maker. I just love the way it looks! This was my first time making home-made ice cream. So I read the instructions multiple times before I made my first batch. The instruction booklet has 10 different ice cream and sorbet recipes for you. I started with the "Easy Vanilla ice cream" recipe. A total of only 4 ingredients for this recipe. First I'd like to say with any recipe you try, you will want to make sure you have enough crushed ice! (I did not). It turned out absolutely yummy, and it was actually much easier to make than I thought it would be. My son made it with me, we had a lot of fun! And it only takes around 30 minutes once you have all of the ingredients in the canister ready to go. The canister that you actually make the ice cream in can also be used to store your ice cream in as well, in your freezer. (it has a lid). So that's what we did. Clean up was quick and easy. Hand wash only - No dishwasher. There are so many different options and recipes, we are really looking forward to trying out with our new Nostalgia Ice Cream Maker. This is something the whole family will enjoy. I am truly satisfied with my Nostalgia Ice Cream Maker and would definitely recommend to all ice cream lovers out there. After all, homemade is the best!
[Rewarded Review] Must try!!
It worked like a charm. .Using the most simple recipe in the owner's manual, which is the Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe, we made this with the kids. They thoroughly enjoyed the entire process from mixing the ingredients, to pouring the ice and rock salt mixture into the ice bucket. They watched it churn the ice cream with so much excitement and anticipation. I really liked the see through lid. It was easier to know how thick the ice cream was getting. It took about 50 minutes for it to complete. The ice cream was not as firm as the store bought one’s, but was so much more delicious. We put the rest in the freezer directly in the canister it came in,the lid comes with an optional handle for that reason. I also liked the plastic bucket inside. Not as much waste or mess from the ice and rock salt. Very easy clean up afterwards. I am extremely happy with this ice cream maker and look forward to trying their other recipes included in the owner's manual. Especially during the summer when the kids need something fun to do.
[Rewarded Review] Delicious ice cream with all the fun!
This Nostalgia 4 Qt. Electric Ice Cream Maker is such an easy and fun way to make ice cream with your family. This is the very first ice cream maker that I’ve ever owned or used. I have to be honest, looking at the instructions it seemed like it would be very difficult, but It wasn't though it was actually pretty easy and the steps were very easy to follow. It comes with eight recipes in all six of which are ice cream and two are sorbet. I highly recommend getting ice cream salt as you would definitely need it. Can’t make ice cream without it!
