Burn barrier!
A must if you own cast iron and don’t want to absentmindedly destroy your hand. I’m awful for distracted cooking so this has saved my hand a few times. It insulates the handle so well it’s cold to the touch while the pan is sizzling.
No more hot hands in this kitchen!
I have great pots and pans but their metal handles do get quite hot and an oven mitt is not always practical. Great quality and very effective.
Too loose! Constant Risk of dropping the pans!
I wish the silicone covers were a much tighter fit on the handles (same brand of pans), as I'm constantly at risk of dropping the pans when I carry them. They just want to slip out. Strange that the manufacturer wouldn't think of that.
Get a handle, not this loose-fitting sleeve
This ISN'T a silicone handle- it's a sleeve. It fits VERY loosely onto the Lodge 12" frying pan. It slips right off, too, so be careful when you're trying to hold the pan with it. It does keep the heat off your hand, but I feel it presents another danger- that of the heavy pan full of hot food slipping out of your hand.
Very punctual delivery even under EMCO. Items were well packed and being Lodge, these were very well made without any blemishes. It is a pleasure to use it with secure knowledge that it is safe, of high quality and will last a lifetime. Thank you, I will buy again. 👍😁
Hot Handle Holder gets Hot.
I got this hot handle holder thinking that it would be something that would allow me to hold the hot handle of the skillet. It fits the skillet fine but it is still hot enough that it requires me to use a potholder. I will not be putting this on my skillet when I cook next time. Disappointed.
Lodge green silicone handle
Does not fit the skillet! Using it on just the handle caused me to be burnt! I kept the other one as I bought the Ill fitting extra handle grip and I could lift the pan with both of these on even though Ill fitting
Needs improvement
I have a 6" Lodge cast iron frying pan, that I bought this handle cover to use with it. However, the handle cover is too big and slops around the handle of the frying pan. The handle cover is also not thick enough, as the heat from the pan handle quickly seeps through. Be careful, as you can still get burned from the heat. My regular oven mitts work better to insulate fr the heat of the handle than this does.
Worthwhile Purchase
Don't leave it on while cooking because it can and will heat up causing a potential for a burn. It happened. It isnt veyr snug so be careful with trying to transport your lodge pan. Being that it is a lodge product one would expect better. Other than that it was a worthwhile purchase.
Hot Stuff
Too large for my 8" cast iron skillet. This seems to be designed for Loge's larger skillets. It does a fair job of insulating the cast iron of the handle, but you can still feel it if the handle is very hot. Overpriced for what it is, just some silicone. It would be helpful if it had a loop to hang it when not in use.
Very useful for my cast iron pans
At first I was a bit skeptical about these hot handle holders, but bought one to try on my several cast iron pans. I was pleasantly impressed on how nicely they keep my hands safe when grabbing the HOT pans from the oven, stove, BBQ grill. I don't leave them on the pan when it's cooking, I just insert it when I need to move the pan. Make sure you get a tight grip so the pan doesn't accidentally slide out and drop to the floor. I would recommend for you to try.
Junk, crud and.... see are a pea
These handles in my opinion are dangerous. They do not fit snugly on either handles. They are slippery. If your holding a 10" Loge Cast Iron fry pan that has a silicone handle on the handle of the pan, its slippery as you know what. They fit loose as a goose and are slippery than a greased hog. The other assist handle is a joke, its about twice the size as the Lodge assist handle. All in all I'm glad I only bought one set to see how they worked out. The one set was a complete waste of money .
Looks like set of four, only get ONE holder
Like the first reviewer, the pictures give the idea that there are four handle holders in the set. I was buying the entire set just so I could get the orange one, but when the order arrived, there was only one yellow handle holder in the 'set.'
I purchased the Blue version along with the Black version for my cast iron pans which have different style handles. One pan has a longer and curved handle while the other is straight and shorter. These work better on the Longer and Curved handled cast iron pans. After some extensive use, the color has remained the same and are fairly easy to clean up after uses although you may need more soap if there is a significant amount of oil from splatters. Cleaning the inside of these handles are a bit of a pain if they get food or oil inside of them. I have a small brush that I use for the inside that I use for cleaning small bottles.
I have quite a few cast iron pans from lodge. Lodge seems to have 2 different designs for their handles and this handle is supposed to work for both, but it seems that it fits better on a certain version than the other. An example of the two handles can be seen on Lodge L8SGP3 and Lodge L8SK3. The L8SGP3 is longer and slightly curved while the latter has shorter and flat. When using it on the curved handle, the Handle Holder feels sturdy and solid. The Short and flat handle on the other hand makes the handle feel loose and squishy. It still works on both but I prefer it on the long and curved lodge handled skillets.
Just what I was looking for.
I bought a small pot with a lid for boiling eggs in the Badic Home line of Walmarts. I liked that the lid had a draining spout. The only thing I disliked about this little pot was that the stainless steel handle gets quite hot when boiling anything for any length of time. I burned myself once then ordered this for it, as I like the pot so much except for that. This handle slips on easily and protects from burns on your hand. I just leave it on there all the time.
I purchased this lodge handle for my lodge 10 1/4" grill pan, so based on the description, it should fit. However, it's very loose - the silicone handle still has about an inch of empty space in it after i've put it on my pan. It slips around while I am cooking. It might fit better on a standard 10 1/4: pan, though I don't know why the handles would be different just because one pan has grill ridges while the other does not. It still will protect your hand from a hot pan handle, it just won't fit snugly while doing it.
