I was not impressed with this light or the ceiling mount hanging light. They are cheaply made and have a black foam strip at the bottom of each glass panel where the metal clips hold the panel. This foam strip is obvious and makes the light look cheap. I removed this foam strip and replaced it with a clear double sided tape strip but at this price, the light should have been made better. Once installed, they look nice but I am having trouble with the wall lantern because it randomly doesn't turn on. I'm using a dusk to dawn lightbulb and the light will turn on for a few days and then stop. Overall, I wouldn't buy these again.
Nice fixture, some concerns about quality/materials
The fixture is made well enough but not any better than those found at the home centers. I though that for price it was a little underwhelming in terms of materials/quality. The threaded rod mount isn't my favorite as is basically a single fastening point between the fixture and box. In my experience these connections are often not great as the quality of the modern threaded rods and nuts is usually low and they are easily stripped or cross threaded. My only other quibble is that the back inside face of the fixture is a mirror finish. This finish is actually a very thin piece of plastic or foil and is easily dented/creased which is impossible to fix. On one of my fixtures the bottom edge of this material was not adhered and is sticking out about 1/8" from the edge of the fixture. screws and glass panels were unattached. had to partially reassemble.construction kinda crappy.
This is a nice cleanly designed, modern light that looks great on our home built in 1913. We'll be getting the pendant as well.
