Finally! A shower head that does what it is advertized to do! There are only two settings which is perfect -one that is wide enough to shower you all over and with a simple twist, the water sprays more direct with imcreased pressure -plenty enough to rinse my long thick hair in far less time than any other shower head I have purchsed! Thank you Speakman for a great showerhead! Thank you for saving me time! My boyfriend was impressed with the showerhead and pressure as well!

I tested the showerhead as-is out of the box (flow restrictor in place) since some folks on here said they liked it as is, but the large majority on here seem to be removing the flow restrictor in the reviews I'm reading. After installing it as is, it was a little underwhelming as I predicted so I decided to remove the restrictor. Now this is where I made a mistake. What I should have done to test the flow of water with the restrictor still in place was to actually get in and take a shower to see how it felt on my body. Instead what I had done (like many of you probably) was just turn the faucets on a bit and stick my hand under. You'll see why this was dumb of me in a second. So anyway off I went to youtube for a tutorial on how to remove the restrictor thinking it would solve all my problems. I used the method where you drill into it and then pull it out with a pair of pliers. Easy enough. Here's where it got fun. When I reinstalled the showerhead with no restrictor, all hell broke loose. This thing literally became the loudest and strongest shower head on earth. It felt like a pressure washer. It would probably be unbearable to shower like that. Some settings on the knob head were more tolerable than others but it was still just way too much power. You could turn down the faucet handles in the tub (it's a tub shower) to a barely on position for it to act more civilized and lower the pressure to a normal amount but no house guest on earth or anyone who would be using that shower for the first time would be prepared for the Niagra falls effect when turning it on, and I sure as heck didn't want to have to go the rest of my life explaining how my shower works. Luckily I didn't damage or throw the restrictor away after the removal so I had a great idea. Why not just reinstall it with the small hole I drilled in it while removing it? In theory it should add some flow but not too much. 0-100 isn't the only option guys. You can go 50%. So after putting the drilled-out restrictor back in I am now wayyyyy happier and much more satisfied with the showerhead. There's still a very strong power washer like setting on the showerhead if you twist the stream adjustment knob (on the showerhead) a certain way, and I don't see myself ever having to use it, but in all other modes/adjustments, it's a good, comfortable, and strong stream that isn't too loud or overpowering. Moral of the story: Get in the shower and really try it out before removing the restrictor. And if you think you need more power, try adding a hole in the center instead of removing it altogether.

Just moved into a new apartment with an unfortunately small shower/tub combination in the bathroom. Tried two other highly recommend shower heads (one recommended for pressure, the other for pressure and water saving) but both offered too much blast for such a small area. Opted to try this one third. Seems solidly built, and very easy to install. But off the bad while the shower head works, the pressure was abysmal. Really worse than the old shower head my apartment came with. But I saw in other reviews here that people recommended removing the water flow restrictor, so I opted to try that. Man o man it makes a difference. Very good pressure now, and but not quite as overwhelming as the other shower heads I tried first. Also, people make it sound like you need to drill through the bit to get the restrictor out ,but it was much easier than that. I only used needle nosed pliers and a micro flat head screwdriver, that I use for electronics. Very easy to just pop it out with those.

I bought the 1.75 GPM Speakman Shower head as I am on a well. Upon installation it made an awful periodic whistling / whining sound which I was not going to able to live with. After a little online research I removed the shower head and temporarily pulled out the large black washer and screen and then removed the tiny black O-ring. I replaced the large black washer and screen and re-attached the shower head and gave it a go. The whistling was gone AND the water pressure of the shower had increased tremendously. i have not checked the GPM rating after removing the O-ring, but need to do so as I am sure it's now more than 1.75 GPM. So for those who see the online suggestions and videos of ripping all the guts out of your Speakman to get good water pressure, try just removing the O-ring. Very simple to do, increases water pressure and easy to put back in place if needed. So with that I give it 4 stars as I had to make a modification to remove the whistle noise.

Looks good well constructed but not as adjustable as you would think expensive for what it is.

They advertise it like it has a ton of adjustable settings. The massage function is ok but very small stream then when you transition it from massage to shower it spreads out a wide band of streams but pressure is then compromised. There are much better less expensive shower massages out there.

I am very picky and have been through several shower heads and this is the one! I have long hair, so for me pressure and GPM really matter and this is perfect in both areas. I think this shower head may actually reduce my time in the shower. I also like that I can easily with one hand turn the shower knob to adjust the pressure. The head puts out a perfectly wide spray that covers the entire body. This is so much better than any delta or moen product I have used in the past. (Moen's slogan "buy it for life" is accurate because that's how long you'll be in the shower trying to rinse your hair!, lol) you will not be disappointed with this perfectly balanced shower head) Simplistic and perfect!

Great decision

After a lot of research it was down to this speakeasy hotel anystream or the next line that was above it, or the fire hydrant that seems to have numerous knock off replicas on the market. Being that it was too tough to distinguish what I was buying with the fire hydrant spa shower head, I decided to go with the reputable speakeasy brand that obviously is very established, and highly regarded. I couldn't be more pleased. I did not remove the regulator to increase flow like many do to improve water volume, because although I do not pay for water, and have a well, i do not want to use more water then 2.5 gal a minute which is very high and not on the conservative side to start with, but it's surely better then whatever my well pump would push without it. The pressure, or performance is very impressive. Not that it is a life changing shower experience, but it is as nice or nicer than any other shower head I've recently owned. I'm very satisfied with this, and would recommend this product to anyone whos looking for quality without breaking the bank. I could have stepped up to the next model for $20 more, but it doesn't have the message jets in which I don't use anyway, so my afterthought is that I shouldn't have considered that into my decision to go with this version, and am peaked with curiosity as to what the deference would have been if I spent $20 more for the higher quality one above it. That don't always mean it is a better unit, but I guess I would really like to have been able to know. I plan on using this head for the next 5 plus years then maybe I will upgrade.. either way it was worth every penny I paid for it, and I won't know until later if I made the perfect decision. I should say that if you go with this, you won't be upset with the experience it provides. Although it's plastic it is a very nice build, and design. It looks very nice, and of high quality. Don't think twice if you are on a budget this shower head is the best I believe is out for the price you pay.. I did so much research and what I've read about this has been nothing but true.

This low flow shower head was the Christmas gift to myself. It arrived on the stated date in a well packed box. I unscrewed the existing 17 year shower head, put on the thread provided and screwed on the new head. I love all the different sprays it provides and I can tell it has reduced the amount of water I am using. The spray & massage features are controlled with a turn of the side knob. Great buy. Have already recommended it to two friends.

So one morning as I was taking a shower, I noticed just how gross and rusty my who-knows-how-many...

So one morning as I was taking a shower, I noticed just how gross and rusty my who-knows-how-many-decades-old Water Pik massage shower head was. Time to replace! was my thought at the time, till I found out a bit later that the model had been discontinued and replaced with a newer version which on all accounts were highly inferior to the model I had been using (according to most of the Home Essentials Direct reviews anyway). So begin my search for a new shower head and how I came across this particular unit. My requirements wasn't anything special, but it is something that a lot of shower heads on the market apparently fail to do. And that is to provide a high pressure water, not just in velocity, but also in volume that is at least as good as my old shower head (ofc, if it was better, it'd be great, but I was satisfied with my previous shower). This unit was mentioned many times in various review sites as being one of the top units, "used by high class hotels" they would say. On top of being advertised as a high pressure unit and with a nice build quality to it, I jumped on it. I got the brushed chrome version as I saw a couple of reviews/pics on here that mentioned the paint rusting or something and it looked like they had polished, so I spent a little more in the hopes that mine wouldn't meet the same fate. When I finally got the unit, it was gorgeous! Very big, as some of the reviews had mentioned, but it doesn't put me off in the slightest. The brushed chrome is also great and I'm glad I went with it over the polished one. Installation was simple and I didn't have to use any tools to tighten it and saw no leaking in the one week I've used it (use all of the teflon tape included. The connector/sleeve is fairly long, you have to insert the unit into the pipe a bit before the threading actually begin, so insert it till you can't anymore, then start spinning to screw it on. If it is not screwing on, change the angle you are screwing it in a bit. I noticed some reviews noting they can't get it on, but these use the standard 1/2 inch thread just like any other shower head in the U.S., so it'll definitely fit). Once it's on, it looks pretty good, and I especially liked the channeled/bowled edges as it seems to help the water drip off the face of the shower head once the water is turned off. As some reviewers noted, the three mode advertisement is a lie, this unit has two modes, the wide spread where water sprays out of the five outer circles with decent pressure, and the narrow spread, where water comes out of the tiny holes in the inside circle of the face, with a little bit higher pressure. Overall the shower head is decent. The wide spread is decently wide and while not great, the pressure was enough to get shampoo out of my fairly thick hair. My biggest issue however, is with the narrow spread which I often like to use in my old unit. While there is definitely pressure in each of the individual tiny stream of water that comes out, they don't combine together to become a nice focused stream of high pressure water. Instead, they each remain individual streams, so it feels more like you are being sprayed with a water gun that shoots high pressure but tiny stream of water. The individual streams combined do provide a pulse massage sort of feel and do feel pretty good, but unfortunately, it is not a spray of high pressure water like my old unit and that I needed (think more like a garden hose shooting a concentrated stream of water that you'd use to spray your backyard deck for instance, a single strong and big (but narrow) stream, rather than a bunch of strong but tiny individual stream). Ultimately, I replaced the unit after a week of use as I couldn't go without my narrow stream and replaced it with the Take a Shower LLC Fire Hydrant Spa shower head which did a much better job (insane water pressure!) in both the narrow and wide streams with some tradeoffs (read my review on that if you want to find out more). Some images of the Speakman unit vs the Fire Hydrant unit to showcase the difference in size is attached. the Speakman is much larger than my Water Pik unit (not pictured because it's too gross to look at) but the Fire Hydrant unit is much smaller than my Water Pik unit, so this is the comparison of bigger than average vs smaller than average. The Fire Hydrant unit in case anyone is curious and is looking for it, search on Home Essentials Direct for "take a shower llc fire hydrant spa" or link here: Best Shower Head for Low Water Pressure - The Original Fire Hydrant Spa Plaza Massager Shower Head in Chrome Make sure you read my review on that first to know what you are getting into though, as there are some tradeoffs which while I felt was way worth it, is something you should still know going in.

3 spray showerhead

Spray function works excellent but message mode does not have enough oomph. Maybe its the pressure in my house but more likely its the green model to save water for NY. Could not order the other model I wanted. Would be nice in brushed nickel.

Yes You Get What You Pay For

Had an old one that was finally starting to break down. Tried 3 other types so I could spend less but took them back as they didn't give good strong spray. Some times you really do get what you pay for. You will like this as it gives a good strong flow. Looks good too.
