I hate misrepresentation and this product is being marketed falsely as metal. It is not. It is chrome plated plastic. Be warned

All metal bracket! Everything in the stores is all or mostly plastic. This one installed easily and isn't fragile. My grandsons are quality testers by nature. I think this one will hold up to their use.

Rip off. Claimed their product was made of metal, it's not, it's plastic. Even charged more to make it look like you're paying for metal. I carefully researched product descriptions but American standard description is just a LIE.

I was looking for a shower arm mount in metal....

I was looking for a shower arm mount in metal. This American Standard shower arm mount looks nice but it is not constructed all metal. Maybe the water diverting ball is of metal. Other parts are plastic. It is not what I want so I returned it. I cannot testify on the function and durability of it because I never install it.

Beware: Made of PLASTIC. Only Inner ball joint is Metal.

Seriously, so done with these shower joints that state Material: Metal in the details section, and then when they arrive 90% is plastic, especially the shower head holder, which is the piece that is most likely to break. Product section is definitely misleading. Instead of Chrome finish how about staying 'PLASTIC finished with Chrome like finish'. I'd like to pay in Cash, and then send monopoly money...sorry, I didn't specify that it was monopoly money cash. SIGH!!

This product is listed as being metal. The part that commonly breaks which is the cradle for the handheld shower is plastic. This was very simple to install, but they all are. There are several others priced the same with better ball joints for adjusting. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

I returned this shower arm bracket because the wall thickness of the bracket where the shower wand slides into was so thin that I believe will break very easily. I ordered a similar bracket made by Delta and the bracket wall were much thicker. See attached photos.

Shower arm bracket collar is plastic, not "chrome"

The shower arm fell to the tile floor and cracked the threaded collar surrounding the ball joint. Had to reorder a new shower arm bracket.

Perfect replacement for a ten-year old item showing its age and leaking. It was shipped quickly and the price was reasonable.
