I'm using these more for cooking than plating as they're pretty large. I like using chopsticks while cooking and these have replaced the chopsticks while allowing me to be very precise. The ends meet perfectly together which allow for precision usage.

The black coating on these stainless tongs is Durable! It has the same dead-black look as the DLC coating I've seen on watch bands, and giving it some serious scratches against other 18/8 stainless doesn't really hurt it in the short term. Of course everything eventually wears out, but you get a good value here imo.

Finally an ample plating tong! If you want to have fun and look ridiculous in a home kitchen, you need 11" plating tongs. These are well made from stainless, and don't have any unpleasant sharp edges or anything like that. However, they're not _perfect_, and the tips don't close together with the precision of an apple product or surgical equipment. Check my video to see a variety of plating tasks.

The Mercer Culinary Precision Plus 11 3/4" Straight Plating Tongs are sturdy and last a long time. The only problem I seen with this product is the length. It is hard to use if you have arthritis or other medical conditions in your hands.
