Decent product. Came with a small dent but I did not mind it. Delivery leaves a lot to be desired. Left just close to the sidewalk I almost ran it over getting to my driveway because they just brought it without notice. I called the delivery company but was very unprofessional. The lady there did not seem to care.

Creaky Tub

I had this tub installed during a complete bathroom renovation and one year later I've got SIGNIFICANT creaking. And the tub feels cheap. If I had the resources, I would replace this tub.

The product in the description is not rhetorical product sent. The soaking depth is only 9” not 18”.

Soaking depth is not 18"!!

Spec shows 18" soaking depth. it is not even 12". I wasted two weeks waiting for my order and now have to find another tub.

Wrong description

The description of this tub is VERY WRONG. Its only like 13 inches deep. Soaking depth probably only 8 inches. Shame on Home Depot fir not havkng the right description.

Very Nice Tub

This is a very nice tub. I had ordered a acrylic composite tub early in my remodel and didn't like it because of how absolutely flimsy it was and ended up giving it away to someone in need as I was past the return period.

The specs are not accurate on the Home Depot website. The soaking depth is actually only 9 1/2 inches. We had to return it and go without a tub while we waited for the tub that actually has a 14 inch soaking depth to be delivered to the store. Very disappointed :(

We bought this tub because it was suppose to have a 14 inch soaking depth but it is only 10 inch! It cost us a lot of money for a tub we are not happy with because of false information. Someone needs to fix this but I'm not sure who? Another negative point is that for such an expensive tub they are very picky about how it can be cleaned. You can only use limited cleaners!

misleading only 10” soaking depth

Very difficult to install on a slab floor. Plumber had to cut a hole through the connecting room to attach the drain. Non-standard drain on tub. Would not recommend. Also soaking depth is only 10”!!! Description says 14” but its only 10” to overflow. Extremely disappointed in this tub

Bathtub feels heavy and solid as cast iron, half the weight. The extra height is nice as a soaking tub. Very happy with my purchase. Shipping took longer than expected. I have photos I can share of finished install.

DO NOT BUY THIS TUB IF YOU LIVE IN NORTH CAROLINA! Tub drain is non-standard and requires a slip joint, which is not allowed under NC plumbing code. (Slip joints cannot be use in inaccessible places--such as tight crawl spaces or ceilings.) If you DO decide to install this tub anyway, be aware that you have a 50/50 chance of the drain leaking, and you'll have code issues if you ever sell your house.

Excellent tub.

The plumber had no problem with installation. The tub is great looking and seems well made and sturdy. Great warranty. Very happy customer.

This item was not in stock at my local HD, so I ordered it for in-store pickup. As other people have said, ALWAYS inspect the tub before you accept it. I did that, but unfortunately, I only looked for damage to the porcelain (a common complaint). There was a chip in the porcelain, but since it was where the tile or the surround would cover it, I decided to accept the tub rather than wait another two weeks for a replacement.

There is a small imperfection on the top edge of the tub, near the apron, on the left end. The porcelain looks like it wasn't blended well over a rough spot in the steel. This is a manufacturing issue, rather than damage during shipping, so Home Depot is not involved in the issue. American Standard owns this problem. I will try to use a commercial product to blend/buff the imperfection, hoping to make it less noticeable.

Will not pass inspection

no overflow? Inspector will not pass us because of this tub. (Austin, Tx) So I can't return it, and now have to buy yet another tub to pass inspection. Check your local codes before buying.

Americast holds up long term

I put one of these in about 12 years ago and it has held up very well. We have never used regular comet on it and it still has some shine when freshly cleaned. I wish it was a little deeper but it still seems adequate. It has a built in traction area on the bottom that prevents slipping and the need for a rubber mat. I recommend opening any tub purchased at the store and checking for flaws. Don't haul it home and up the stairs only to find a nick in the finish.
