Nice tub, but it came cracked
I bought this tub about 2 months ago, seems great but it came cracked. It is veryyy heavy, so returning was unrealistic when I thought about it. The ledge is cracked which is unfortunate because you can see it. It is very deep which is nice, but I hope it doesn’t continue to crack. For a price like that it shouldn’t crack this easy so I’m not very happy.
Buyer Beware - Defective Tub
We had to order two of these tubs. The first one we ordered came damaged. The top corner was cracked and chipped as of something was dropped on it. Build.com were able to replace it very quickly. We received the second tub and everything looked great. Except when my contractor installed it…. This bathtub was defective. After using it for the first time, we found that water puddles in the left corner of the tub near the drain. My contractor took a second look at it and confirmed that the tub was completely level. Now since this tub has a warranty, we reached out to American Standard to see what they can do. They stated it looks like the mold of the tub cured incorrectly when it was made causing the pooling. They said they can replace the tub but it would take 7-10 days, couldn’t guarantee that the new tub wouldn’t have defects. Not sure why a company wouldn’t guarantee that their tub would have no defects. So we are not even taking the risk and would have to pay extra costs for labor and materials for our contractor to de-install the old tub and install the new tub. Very disappointed in this purchase.
Does not drain properly
Agree with a previous poster. This tub has a defect and puddles in a corner near the drain. It also collects water along the ledge of the tub. This is newly installed by professionals and confirmed to be leveled. I'm so disappointed :(
Great, solid tub!
We were looking for a solid tub. We had a tub installed last year and I slipped and my knee hit the side and put a crack in it. This one was a little more narrow than I was hoping for, but is much nicer, and much more sturdy! Definitely happy with our purchase, and ordering it from Build was so much easier than I would have guessed
Replaced cast iron and feels solid
I was worried that I wouldn’t like the plastic feel. I’ve always had cast iron tubs. My bathroom has been done for a little over a week and I love it. I little deeper than my previous tub but not too high to step over. Looks great. Not as bright white as my white subway tile if that matter to you.
Very pretty tub. Came undamaged. The only problem is that it wasn't level. My plumber had a hard time trying to install it and had to use shims. In the end, it worked out.
Beautiful Tub
Ordered this tub for a bathroom remodel. Color and handing were hard to find - Build had it. Placed the order on a Sunday evening and it was on the job 800 miles from the shipping point on Wednesday morning. Well packed on a pallet. Very pleased with the transaction.
Perfect!
Perfect tub for child’s bathroom. It is a good depth and the skirt is modern with its straight lines. The color is a true white that matches our Swiss Madison toilet/sink.
Like the design, but the acrylic gets dirty quickly
I bought this to replace an original cast iron tub in my 1960's home. I wasn't sure what to expect with an acrylic tub, but decided to go for it since it's in a secondary bathroom. I love the transitional design, the price was much easier to take than cast iron, and my installer said this would be much easier for him to put in. The arctic white color is great, and it's much larger than the original tub, but takes up the same footprint. I was a little worried that the sides might be too high for getting in and out of comfortably, or for washing a child/ cleaning the tub. Good news, that's not an issue! However, the soap scum and hard water deposits build up incredibly quickly. Much more so than my old tub. Currently I'm using Kohler tub and shower cleaner. It's doing the job, although it's a very strong vapor, and I'm worried over the long term how well it will keep the tub looking ok. If I were doing this again I'd really think twice about acrylic.
So far, so good
Tub arrived much quicker than expected. It was well packaged, and the tub appears to be in pristine condition. My husband installed the tub with little to no difficulty as the tub's stated measurements were accurate. That said, we are still remodeling the bathroom and the tub has yet to be used or filled with water. I don't anticipate any problems, but if there are I will let you know. Btw, the tub looks great!
Awesome tub
I love this tub. We were in the process of remodeling our hallway bathroom. I was having trouble finding the right shape, color, brand, and dimensions of a tub for the project. I went out on a limb and ordered online and couldn’t of been happier with the process. The tub was exactly what I wanted. It arrived in a couple days at my garage entrance. Great condition. Couldn’t of gone any smoother.
Deep soaker
We recently completed a reno of one of our bathrooms. Meaning, a complete tear out of an old builders grade one piece tub/shower surround down to the studs including the floor. Our Studio 60x30 inch bathtub in white arrived with no damage. We elected to have a licensed plumber install it and the related mixing valve/faucet. We have been using it now for about 2 weeks with no issues. I'm confident with a bit of common sense and care, it will last us for many years!
From one piece tub/shower to tub with tile above
Overall I'm pleased with my purchase and delivery of the Studio 60" soaking bathtub. I chose the white color. It's acrylic with fiberglass reinforcement on the back side. I elected to have a plumber install it and a mixing valve. A mortar base underneath is recommended to support it as well.
Nice Soaking Tub
This tub arrived intact, without any damage. It looks great and provides a modern vibe. It works well with my recent bathroom renovation, which included a hinged tub/shower glass door. I would have loved it more if this same style were available in porcelain-on-steel rather than acrylic.
It's a notable difference in height from our last tub.
This tub was 4" deeper than our original tub. My husband is 5'10" and I asked him if the additional 4" would be ok for him. He said yes. The 4" definitely makes a difference when getting in or out of the tub. If he had it to do again, he would have stayed with the shorter height tub. There is nothing wrong with the tub, other than the height for us.
[Rewarded Review] Gorgeous tub
I didn't realize the difference such a tub could make in overall bathroom appearance and functionality until I received this one. With the improved interior size (despite being the same dimensions as my previous tub) it manages to be more comfortable while also having a professional and cutting edge look. Feels like I'm relaxing at a 5 star hotel, not my master bathroom!
[Rewarded Review] Beautiful bathtub 60 x 30 inch Studio collection
Relax in this beautiful bathtub. American Standard Studio collection bathtub is a truly elegant modern edge design. Home improvement and upgrading your bathroom fixtures are important more than ever and American Standard is the best in toilets and bathtubs. I completed the new look with the Studio shower and bath trim kits to complement each other.
[Rewarded Review] Very nice looking tub! Lightweight!
Was not necessarily needing a new tub, but this one was very nice looking so we decided to put it in. Very lightweight and easy to maneuver compared to old cast iron tubs. Been using it for a few months and seems to hold up well. The floor does not flex like a cheap tub.
[Rewarded Review] So excited. Features I can't get elsewhere.
I wanted an extra deep tub but due to the layout of my existing bathroom the replacement tub could not be wider than a standard tub. This one fits the area! I can have my extra deep tub! I was ecstatic! Bonus it has a slightly slanted wall where you would lean your back - so a more ergonomic design. I LOVE it <3
[Rewarded Review] Fantastic Bathtub
This bathtub worked out great for my bathroom remodel. It’s exactly what I was looking for. This bathtub looks great and is very comfortable to bathe in as well. You can’t go wrong with American Standard. They are on top of there game. I recommend this bathtub to anyone looking for a top of the line product.
