Love This Pan!

I did a lot of research before buying this pan and chose it over cast iron because the SCANPAN is easier to clean and because the non-stick coating is PFOA and PFOS-free. I had no idea how well it would grill! I love to cook on our outdoor grill but it's not always practical when the weather turns cold, or we just want to cook a couple of items. I've cooked steaks, burgers, chicken and sausages on this and find the meat just as flavorful as cooking on the outdoor grill. I can squeeze two chicken breasts and two thighs on it, grill both sides for 5-7 minutes, then finish them off in the oven at 400 temp for 10-20 minutes depending on the size. The handle will be very hot, even on the stovetop, but I always use oven mitts anyway. To get rid of grease, I heat up a kettle of water and pour that in the pan, then scrape it with a thin silicone spatula. That gets most of it off, then I finish scrubbing the pan with a nylon brush made for cast iron to avoid any scratches. This has worked great. I'm sold on this brand and would definitely try their other products.

No lid option anymore

I am lucky I still have the glass lid from my old pan. I was disappointed there is no option now to purchase the glass lid. What is the point of a grill pan without one.

Worth the money!

This pan is as nice as other reviewers have claimed. It cooks evenly, and it cleans up easily and beautifully!

Cleans up well

I purchased this grill pan to "grill" in the winter - mostly fish for fish tacos, so I wanted something non-stick. This pan really does clean up well and leaves great grill marks on food. I also like that the edges are high as it keeps splatter somewhat contained. My only complaint is the handle. It really does seem to get in the way (I'm not sure why but found it cumbersome). I would prefer side handles but overall I recommend.

Amazing non stick Grill pan!

I have tried cast iron Grill pan from a few other manufacturers, including Calphalon but sticking and cleaning was always an issue. I have used this pan without any oil at all, just placed seasoned chicken breast and covered with lid (purchased separately). It created perfect grill marks and no sticking at all. I have added brie cheese at the end of cooking to melt on top of chicken and some of it dripped to the pan. I was afraid it will be hard to clean but everything was sliding off grill , no soaking , no scrubbing. Highly recommend , and I do like lid, helps with cooking through faster and keeping higher temperatures in the pan, plus perfect for melting cheese at the end.

How to clean?

While the size and weight are perfect, we found it very difficult to clean between the grills after searing tuna steaks that had been marinated in teriyaki sauce. We would welcome suggestions for what to do in order to make cleaning the pan easier.
