I wish I had bought this years ago!

I wish I had bought this years ago! This lock is fantastic. It was very easy to install when i removed my existing dead bolt assembly. The instructions are easy to follow both on paper and digitally. The only thing I overlooked when purchasing this lock was that the wifi module was not included. We had to purchase the module seperately, this module allows you to use the lock when away from the house.

[Rewarded Review] USELESS PRODUCT AND EVEN WORSE TOTAL TECH HELP!

Unit is completely dead in under a year (didnt last 10 months). It burns through batteries every few months and this time on replacing the batteries, it will not come back to life. Factory reset was useless. The most frustrating part is to get Geek Squad to look at it.. I HAVE TO TAKE IT STORE?? WHAT? Thats our front door lock, so now I have to leave my home unprotected. Whilst the product you sold me is taken out of the door. USELESS Product and even worse Service from Best Buy. They wanted to charge me to get something fixed thats already covered! Cancelling Tech service immediately.

[Rewarded Review] Great lock after getting it set-up

Works well but re-establishing bluetooth connectivity is slow. I ran into some glitches setting up the app with my iPhone that was a little frustrating. The app would spin and do nothing. After closing the app and restarting a few times, the lock finally connected. Once connected, everything else was easy.

Love the lock. It ran though batteries very quickly, but after the third set they seem to be lasting much longer. Definitely stick with alkaline batteries and avoid lithium. Lithium batteries will maintain their voltage all the way up until they die, while alkaline batteries experience a longer voltage drop. That poor performance of the lock because of the low battery voltage is a great indicator that the batteries will need to be replaced instead of a sudden death. A++ seller as well!

Nice product

I like the way it looks. We got the oil Rubbed Bronze for a brown door. It uses an app to set it up. Follow the instructions when setting it up because it needs something before you install the batteries. It is calibrated to know if it is open or closed, locked or unlocked. You can unlock it from your car on a rainy day if you don't have an awning which is nice. I think I saw in the instructions that you can set up a one time code for a person who should only need to enter once without having to remember to remove it. It has a one button touch to lock it. I would say it is worth the money.

[Rewarded Review] Poor connection through module

This lock has given me nothing but problems. First it has no indicator of battery level.

Buyer Beware

The lock itself seems to be of good quality but the big issue is the battery life. I can only comment on the Wifi version but I have had to change the batteries twice within the first month of use which is crazy.

Nice new features, bad execution.

We have had Yale touch screen locks for over 8 years. Have been promoting them to friends and family for just as long. Lost track of how many I have helped install. Have had a few issues, nothing major though. This new Assure lock new out of the box had a defective deadbolt that would twist as it deployed. That would prohibit it from latching. Support was gracious enough to send a replacement after providing pictures and video. Still was a few hours of wasted time dealing with issues. On receipt of the new deadbolt, it was easy to note the redesign to prevent the problem. Why not just swap the part before shipping it to begin with if they knew it was an issue. The new box, purchased directly from Yale did not include installations, which normally did not bother me, but the process has changed, and programing now goes through the app, not the key pad. Had to look up the instructions on the support website. Lastly, I personally prefer old touchscreen surface. To me seems much more durable and substantial. This new one raises quality issues for me.

Keypad malfunction- locked out for hours

I do not recommend this lock. I’ve had this lock for longer than a year so it out of the warranty period. I loved it when it worked. Easy set up and convenient lock. The only thing with set up was that the holes in my door predetermined the spa I g of the keypad and door handle which doesn’t allow for me to use the 9v battery back up in case the batteries die. I’m the end that wasn’t the downfall of this lock. The keypad malfunctioned, numbers 1-6 didn’t work and neither did the enter key. The entire keypad would light up but when any affected numbers were pressed they wouldn’t respond. I waited 3 hours for a locksmith, they confirmed the lock was faulty, at the exact same time I managed to break in through my patio door. They said they would have had to drill the lock out if I hadn’t found my way in. The lock was over $500 all in, the locksmith was $130, missing work was another $200, now I have to buy another lock because I don’t trust this one. It spontaneously started working again 2 days later. The app worked but my phone was locked inside so I couldn’t use it. thankfully I didn’t have to pay the locksmith to replace it on the spot. After this experience I will get a lock with a key backup.

Make sure it's brand-new and unused before buying

First of all, I have no love for any product that takes something simple and reliable like a lock & key and turns it into a failure liability by adding electronics and battery power. But, a tenant wanted to put one of these on the front door and I obliged because it has the traditional key override.

Great Lock!

We've been wanting to get a keypad lock for a while, but couldn't find the right one. This is it, both in appearance and function. It is sleek looking. I love that the numbers don't appear until you wake it up. It also doesn't take up a ton of space on the door like many others do. And the fact that it can take a physical key in case the battery dies is a major plus. Installation was pretty simple. The app has step-by-step instructions and includes videos to help. Once installed, the locking mechanism is smooth and relatively quiet. The included door sensor is very accurate in telling if the door is even slightly ajar. The Bluetooth functionality has worked flawlessly in the couple of weeks since it's been installed. The door has successfully unlocked itself when I approach it after returning home. I may spring for the separate wifi module sometime in the future, but honestly, it works just fine without it. The only thing you're missing without it is the ability to lock/unlock/check the status when you're away from home.

I recieved the Yale Assure Lock 2 in Black Suade from Influenster and Yale Home for my honest review. The lock uses 4 AA batteries which were provided. I'm not sure how long the batteries last yet. We both downloaded the Yale app and scanned the code on the pamphlet provided. The video clips walked us through the simple installation. The whole process took about 30 minutes. We created our accounts in the app and set up our individual codes that can be used to unlock the lock using the keypad. The lock has some great features. There is an auto-lock feature where the door automatically locks when you enter or leave the house. In the all you select the amount of time to wait before it locks or unlocks. Another great feature is the auto-unlock. When we pull up to the house the door unlocks and remains unlocked for the amount of time we setup for the auto-lock feature. You can also invite users and send them temporary access codes. You can even select when and for how long they have access. Every feature has worked flawlessly. We are loving this lock.

I'm not the biggest fan of this. If it worked like advertised I think it would be great, but there are a lot of kinks to work out and their customer service isn't the best at fixing all of the issues. The instructions at times were confusing, the app lagged during video instruction so it took a long time to be able to reference the videos, and some of the videos contradicted what the written instructions said. Aside from that, it does not clearly state that the door sense won't work with metal doors, which really sucks considering my door so happened to be metal. We were not able to use the door sense with our set up. The set up to get the app to calibrate the unit was not working and we had to contact customer service. They were able to get the lock calibrated and the app functioning properly at that point which was nice. But 3 messages to customer service after that to let them know I can not use the keypad alone to unlock the device without the use of my phone has left me with a bad taste in my mouth because they just give me generic responses basically telling me to put my code in and that's not working. I can not even put the code in because the numbers on the keypad just spin in circles after touching the yale button. So, in summary- if you get the app to work, you can lock and unlock from your phone provided you're using the wifi dongle or are close enough in Bluetooth range, the doorsense is useless with metal doors, and the keyless keypad alone doesn't work to unlock the door. I'd recommend getting a schlage, have had several with not nearly this amount of issues.
