The chairs were packed well. The packaging was easy to open and remove the pieces. They were pretty easy to assemble, just follow the directions closely and you will be fine. They don't tell you how to put the seat on so I put one on backwards and had to take it off and reassemble it so that was annoying. My biggest complaint, the reason I only gave them three stars is that they are really short. Too short. I need to get raisers for the uniquely shaped oval legs, which won't be easy. They are sturdy and look great.
Chairs were fairly easy to put together. We do t have the seats on yet because, I wanted green seats with walnut frames to match my 1960’s dining set that has olive seats, typical mid-century color. I plan on using chalk paint in olive to go with existing set clear wax to make more ‘leather like’ also to match existing set.
Really like these designwise and they are very comfortable. They are also all wood. However one cracked and fell apart over the course of four years. The other three are fine. I made the mistake of getting a white seat. Not a great idea, gets too dirty and the burlap material does not clean out well.
Just got them assembled, so this review is of them brand new. After I've had them a while, I will update if they end up being weak or break easily. They look nice, and with my son's help, they went together pretty easily (I'm 60, so I'm just a bit weak). One VERY irritating thing is that every single piece of wood, right smack in the middle, has an identification sticker for assembly. We're talking sticker--the kind that do not peel off, that leave gummy residue, and need goo gone to be removed. It took me as long to remove stickers as it did to assemble the chairs. The chairs themselves, though, seem relatively sturdy and comfortable. I am very short (5'3") and my feet go flat to the ground when I sit all the way back. The backs are low--the top of the chair is about the middle of my back. They are about 2" over the height of my table. Overall, pretty nice for the money.
Beautiful, cute little chairs. One part did arrive broken though, in which Wayfair did send me a new one. The only thing though is they weren't super easy to put together when you got to the cushion part. There are no pre-drilled holes, so you will have to use a drill or use brute force. Once put together though they are darling and the cutest addition to any sitting area.
Bought these 1 year ago. WORST CHAIRS ever bought. I wish I could return but too late now. I don’t even want to donate them to goodwill lest someone else suffer too. They look nice if you don’t sit on them. When you do they SQUEAK like a family of squirrels were living in the chair. I re-adjusted the screws, I tried to reinstall… nothing made a difference. Now I know to never buy chairs where the legs are not ready to attach, I’m not drilling my own holes again. I’m not sure if our table is too tall or the chairs too short, but I feel like a 5 yo at the adult table. Either the chairs need to be taller or our table shorter, I can’t tell. Otherwise has stood up to use well, easy to clean.
I got this as an open box item - so the price is crazy! But I see why this was returned. The parts were mislabeled, which made assembly tricky. Fortunately, I was able to figure out how to assemble it. (I buy LOTS of flatpacked furniture from Wayfair, so I am getting good at this.) As mentioned in a previous review, a screw does come out of the leg. I had to sand it down so it would cut someone if they scraped against it. Because they were so inexpensive, I will deal with it. Also, they are a little low, as you can see from the photo. The dark grey is more like a medium grey, as in the photo.
The color is perfect. Got an amazing deal on these. Assembly was easy, although I think the instructions are backwards for the side supports. It says E goes where F goes, but if you do it that way, they are the wrong angle. Also, the screws that secure the side support to the front leg WILL come through the other side of the leg if you don't go slow and stop soon enough. The screws should be 1/2'' shorter to avoid this problem. I used my own fasteners after reading this on many other reviews. The cushions are indented and have not sprung back after many days. The way it was packaged left the impression of the front legs into the foam. I am going to contact them for a partial refund. Aside from all of this, they're really wonderful and when put together properly with wood glue, they are sturdy as all heck and will definitely last a life time. Don't rush the assembly and make sure you tighten everything securly after to check for square and level.
